Such a fun romp.
Such a fun romp!.Maybe it is just very silly and something to watch only when you are dodging the real world. Howevere once I had watched the first few episodea I was desperate to see how it ended. The ending was always going to be a bit disappointing in a drama such as this but actually I did not feel let down.
Took me ages to watch as finding the last few episodes of the drama was very difficult. when i did find it it took over a month to download! Perseverance was rewarded.
Thank you so much.

Park Hae Jin! Unexpectedly Good for a First Timer like me
This was the first show of Park Hae Jin I've watched and his acting was basically what made this show to my like. His serious expressions transforming with his excellent comedic timing turned many scenes into pure hilariousness. I enjoyed some of them so much that I've been going back and rewatching for the last two days.I also liked the bromance a lot. I like how the Hallyu star Hyung didnt take this tough secret agent very seriously and vice versa. It was a lot of fun.
It felt like main actress and main actor werent in tune in the beginning tbh and I still cant say they were great together, but I appreciated the casting nevertheless. They looked real, I liked their relationship and I like how unexpected this kind of romantic relationship between these two people both for the viewers and characters as well.
I feel like Man to Man is very underappreciated. It truly gave me DoTS feelings. I'll be watching rest of PHJ's work in no time and will be looking forward to his future projects.

Cha DoHa is actor Yeo Woon Gwang's manager. She's also his biggest fangirl, so she's living the dream. Though not without static, her life is near perfect. The new bodyguard is messing everything up, however. He has to go! She will make /sure/ he gets fired, she decides. He isn't cooperating, though. He performs his duties /excellently/. There's no weak spots. Gwang loves him - says they're brothers. Not bros - BROTHER'S. What they don't know is that he's a super-secret agent. Bodyguard to the stars is just his cover. He'll never get fired. He's too perfect. Every mission comes to an end, though. So after he quits, he needs their help with a tricky situation. DoHa out-maneuvers him brilliantly.
M2M is a 2017 release that is rated 88 on AWiki. It is 1 season consisting of 16 65ish-minute episodes. It's cute and forgettable. It's not a serious show. It doesn't take itself seriously, therefore, why should we? M2M does suffer from MAL-content, meaning that there are too many episodes and not enough content. It starts fun but declines before the episode count does. There are fun scenes, silliness, laughter, and interesting plot twists, but in the final debrief it is solidly in the should-have-been-better category., The ending is a non ending. That should have been better as well.
Hey, it's just for fun, and fun it often is. M2M doesn't provoke us to probe deeper truths, cause us to reflect on our choices, nor does it inspire change from within. It's about how this man's man, in a nicely fitting suit, is conquered by this girl-next-door cutie. At first he's about the mission. He's got his cover and nothing about him is genuine. After ups and downs, ins and outs, this peril, and that danger, he arrives at his best tactic: Sincerity. She then 1-ups him by coming up with something even better…
Fangirl. Secret agent. Narcissistic actor. Retired actress & her congressman husband… The cast is a mix of characters. Park Hae-Jin (The Killing Vote, Cheese in the Trap-7.7) is “Kim” Sul-Woo ~ Kim-Guard. He's Han Solo… Man Solo? He operates alone. He doesn't mix business with pleasure. He doesn't fall in love. And he's got a bad feeling about this assignment. Kim Min Jung (she practically stole the show in Mr. Sunshine-9, and that's crazy impressive) plays FL, Cha DoHa. She's no secret agent, but she can pick a lock.
Park Sung Woong is Yeo Woon Gwang. He's a movie star (‘Let me sleep some more.’ “I can't see the stuntmen today. They're always fighting. Let's have a day of peace.”) While he's plenty ego-centric, Gwang is mostly decent. (I love this guy!). He's good to DoHa and he sincerely works hard. He's portrayed a secret agent on film, so he recognizes an impressive man when one is working for him. This Kim-guard hombre is impressive.
Chae Jung An (The King of Pigs, Coffee Prince) plays Song Mi Eun, current congressman's wife, former actress, and Gwang's former girlfriend. Jung Man Shik portrays Prosecutor Lee Dong Hyun. The director is Lee Chang-Min (Welcome to Waikiki) and writer Kim Won-Suk also scripted Descendants of the Sun-8.3.
Here is a romance in which she's staring at the phone wondering if he will call, and he's in a high-stakes shootout. “You know, James Bond? We are gonna keep our dating eachother as a covert mission… It's our secret.” Kim is dating DoHa as part of his cover. She's just part of the mission. DoHa thinks /she's the mission/. Alas, No.
M2M has excitement but it has even more laughs. Right after Doha asks to keep their dating relationship a covert mission, someone in her family asks Kim to meet “secretly and covertly”. Hanging out with Kim-Guard gets the movie star a chance to see action IRL. Gwang attempts to pause a real-life fight with real-life bad guys to warn them to not scar his face! There is always a reason Kim has to remain undercover as Gwang's bodyguard. Like Pacino in the Godfather, they keep pulling him back in. He can't separate himself from Doha, and he's got a /really/ bad feeling about this. “Faith, hope and love are not what saves a person. What saves a person is hatred and rage.” This is said in good fun, but sometimes we do need to get our ire up alittle to get ahead.
M2M didn't stoke my ire or many feelings at all. All in all, with what I now know, would I choose to watch it again for the first time? No. I would skip this one, but it's easy to see why many would enjoy it's low-stress cuteness, which will please many viewers, and there's certainly worse things out there. DoHa and Gwang are truly darling characters and Kim-Guard isn't so shabby, either. Hopefully this will inform your next mission.

From Romantic Perspective
Expanding on a comment I wrote: This was an Awkward couple and nit in the cute cringe way.FL couldn't pull off the cutesy romance bit, and the writing of her character in this way was not congruent with the persona of the ML. She was irritating in her habits, both as the character and in the acting, but worse, she made very weak choices (again as both).
As a couple the ML and FL were flat, I couldn't feel them. This was not a clear enemy to lovers, nor a power couple, or touching heart story…. It was just meh. This was a major issue as their love was the catalyst to change our ML’s trajectory completely. Their romance was poorly written, directed and acted. Park Hae Jin, as much as i have liked him in other roles, lacked Soul and motivation in this series. And while Kim Min Jung nailed her most recent role as a bada** in Check in Hanyang (watch for her, not for the drama), she failed to reach us as Cha Do Ha.
The ending of the romantic story also left much to be desired. We were meant to be engaged and rooting for our couple at this time, but neither the writing, acting or directing left us drawn in sufficiently by this point…
On the positive side, ALL secondary character actors in “Man to Man” nailed it. All of them. They had complexity, soul, empathy and coldness as required. Too bad the writing didn't use them to the extent that they were capable.
All in all it was an ok oassing of time. 7.5

Fun drama
The main star of this drama is the movie star whom ML protects. That dude introduced the twists and surprises.First we think he is a spoiled brat star, and he IS, then he turns out super common sense friendly and LOYAL dude - sometimes too friendly... Ppl accused this of BL drama but it is just bromance drama. THe NIS agent saved his life, increased his ratings, etc so he genuinely felt appreciative and close.
The NIS agent is ... well.. nothing in comparison. I dont even remember him LOL The FL as well lol

Detail:
This is a fun spy drama, Park Hae Jin is good as always and he's supported by a strong cast as well throughout. Park Sung-Woong plays the comedic element fantastically well. Good to see another drama with Chae Jung-Ahn as well, having seen her in only a couple of dramas so far such as Suits, it was fun trying to figure her character out.
The story has a number of twists and turns, nothing too earth shattering - good enough it's a change in gear for the story, but not so earth shattering that it ruins future re-watches, I think i'd enjoy a second watch nearly as much as the first even knowing all the twists.
For me the last few minutes are where the drama forgets to put a nice full stop on its ending - the *story* is ended, everything concluded in whatever way it concludes - but I just didn't get the closure I wanted for the main characters at the end, made even worse because they appeared to actually be setting it up for a nice final scene and then just didn't!
Music - nothing earth shattering but a couple of tracks stood out and I found myself humming them to myself while not watching the drama so not bad either :)
Worth a watch imho!

This could have been oh so much better
By now, we've seen so many FBI/CIA/NIS/Spy/Ghost movies and series that it's really hard to take this Drama seriously. They completely missed the mark here. It could have been so great if Everyone was completely oblivious that K was an agent (a ghost at that) and we (the viewers) were the only ones in-on-it... but no... Everyone and their mother in this drama knows NIS agents, ghost agents that are supposed to be "Secret" agents.
If this is fake then it's hard to sit through and believe the rest. The beginning had something, but it's all downhill from there and the ending isn't great either.
I should have dropped this by the middle (ep 7~8 ish) but like a fool I stuck to it only to be disappointed and regret having pushed through to the end. Oh well, win some and lose some.

Buddy movie-Fun action, a little comedy & a good bit of intrigue
A buddy movie, but it's not simply a bromance either. With a wiff of romance The 3 main characters are great & their relationship with each other transcends romance. Fun action, a little comedy & a good bit of intrigue. I watched this twice in the same year.Points deducted because the politics got a little tedious & I wasn't overly thrilled with how the ending was a choppy mess that was too open ended. Also, the "happy" ending wasn't as traditionally happy as would have been satisfying.
