I'm a person who attacked life and stayed too busy to watch a whole lot of 📺 (though I was always a bit of a cinemaphile). I was entirely too busy doing a whole lot of nothing when my entire world crashed in 2020 - emotional, physical, and intellectual devastation. My health was so severely degenerated that I've been largely unable to get out of the recliner for the last 5 years. Watching 📺 was all I could do. It's fair to say that Asian entertainment saved my sanity. I've never been much of a writer, but I started writing reviews to keep my brain active - and continue for the very same purpose. Everything looks differently once a person hits bottom, I've learned, so my perspective is fresh and freshly hewn.
I try to use all the numbers between 1 & 10 (though I never recall rating anything a “2”). I've been tested as equally left and right brained, so the technical aspects of a show are almost as important as how it touches the heart, but let's face it: In the showdown between heart and head, the head doesn't stand a chance😅. I don't factor the personal lives of the actors (or anyone else) into my ratings. I assume everybody in showbiz is a flawed human, as we all are. For that matter, I take no delight in tearing down someone's work; my goal is consistency and authenticity.
Finally, let's put it on the record that everyone is entitled to their form of mindless entertainment. Just because a show is (arguably) bad doesn't mean anyone should feel badly for liking it. I'm only judging entertainment here, not people👍
