I finally finished it! I had about 6 weeks where i wasn't feeling well and couldn't watch much., so it took ,onger than i thought. I loved this show. It never dragged (for 65 episodes, that is astounding) amd the characters are wonderful.
Ou makes the show because he's naturally happy and fun. Their dynamic is so cute. You wrote about his "electrifying smile," and that is IT! It is contagious. I'm a little jealous of your "in his corner" metaphor - NICE.
I want a follow up show or movie that shows romances for Li and Weiwei. I love them SO MUCH. I think Ou and his happy personality are the best thing in the show, but Li and Weiwei aren't far behind. Thank you for turning me on to this. I really enjoyed it! I let Prime suggest the next watch from this one. I've started Forever and Ever and , so far, it's really good.
I chuckle at you paying deference to the fans and what they may not have liked about the show. Snce i refuse to look ahead of time I am spared that.
One thing I don't want to hear is about the actors/directors' personal lives. I guess most viewers assume the people they see on screen are decent and good. I assume the opposite. Money, fame, compliments, and beauty aren't the building blocks of good character, smh. I try to block out the personal gossip because if i hear something too horrible it will ruin my watch experience. Ignorance truly is bliss.
Hi, you pretty much wrote a review here yourself. Have you posted this? Your grasp is really good- better than…
I am looking forward to DOOM@YS very much. I will definitely be checking out your review! Kurosagi is on my queue based on your recommendation, so I'll check out both of them. I'm so late to this East Asian programming game, i feel like I'll never be caught up. I like the oldies as much or more than the new stuff.
Flex X cop surprised me. It was pure fun and very well done! (Dear me, I'm rhyming again. Sometimes i can't help it🤭)

Ah, more for the queue! Ty. When my anxiety was at its worst, horrible modern-day Chinese shows were relaxation therapy. Clearly, they are designed for a stressed population. I rolled my eyes at my husband enjoying the Real Wives shows, but i realized that everyone is entitled to their form of mindless entertainment. The process of winding down js individual.
Kdramas were my entry and i love them. I'm a fantasy fan, and China does the best fantasy in the world. Actually, China doesn't do reality at all (perhaps some of their historical features, but most of them have small fantasy elements). China's modern day stuff has been improving, especially since 2018. Still, some of their modern-day shows are so bad it's really hard to believe. Taiwan - its simplicity either works for the viewer or it doesn't. It's a very mixed bag. Japan - I've fallen in love with anime. Every and any fantasy fan would. Their shows are like their language - stacatto, concise, with darker elements and there's a high premium on cuteness. I consider myself still in the learning phase. I actually did a write up comparing them to 3 sisters. Maybe I'll post it one day. Here's a sample:
China is the oldest sister. She reveres the wisdom of the heavens and the Truth of the Universe.
Korea is the youngest. She toasts the heavens.
Japan is the middle child "from hell" - she fights the family at every turn. She shoots a sake and raises her sword to the heavens, demanding answers. 🤣

DAYS & WBL are in my queue. I did not like My Name at all, even though i like the leads. I have the review partially done, but now I'll have to consider what you've said and perhaps give it another try. I became very ill - it was a combo of things but the biggest player was a prescription drug and the docs were oblivious. That's a whole other topic. So, all i could do was watch TV. I'm so thankful i stumbled onto Asian programming or i would have lost my ever loving mind! Eventually i became to ill to complete my reviews (before I realized what was making me sick i became too ill to self-care. I was on the verge of going in a home. The doctors never figured it out). So, I'm still catching up.
The production quality on BIS is really top tier, which lends even more credibility to your arguments, beyond your innate written elegence. I will make it a point to circle back. Sometimes, the mood a person is in affects perception. My moods have been all over the place. Chronic fatigue and illness wreak havoc on one's mentalilty. I've even had spans of time where i just couldn't give a piece the focus i wanted to. One example is Dance of the Phoenix. In the first watch, i enjoyed it jn the beginning and then became /apalled/ at some of the elements. When i went to complete my review i put it on to check some things and got sucked right back in, lol! I found myself wondering how and I had gotten "appalled." It's not the best, but it's not that bad. I had to amend my score up.
I stopped reading reviews before i watched a show because i found they tarnished my opinions- I am easily influenced, i guess. I love to read them later, especially analysis that takes me to completely new and exciting places like yours! If we engage the hive‐mind we'll be better together, right? 😄
I'll be checking your stuff out. You really gave me a thrill. Thank you.
My first time through watching this I found it intriguingly confusing. After a few more watchings I still have…
Hi, you pretty much wrote a review here yourself. Have you posted this? Your grasp is really good- better than mine in many ways, so I enjoyed reading your comments. I'll admit there likely intricacies that went over my head. I think my biggest grudge against the show is its sense of bleakness - it's really sad. Given all the truly outstanding elements, I wish I had enjoyed it more. I love getting constructive feedback. Thank you so much!
By the way, I'm halfway through To Be With You. I'm really enjoying it. The ML is darling and I love his playfulness.…
I've tried to keep my ego out of it. I do it because life, loss, regrets, and learning that mind-over-matter won't fix everything gave me a perseptive that many others don't have (thank God! I wouldn'tput my worst enemythrough what I'vebeen through). My goal was to put truth out there and hopefully encourage 1 other person. (Thanks to YOU I can come up with a new goal now😘). My PTSD has manifested itself in that I want to help others avoid what I've gone through. That's the only thing that alleviatesthe msiery.
I believe that everything in creation points to truth - even the lies. Evil is always at work amd always trying new angles, but truth is fixed and God designed every atom of creation to point to HIM. Scripture is loaded with stories, examples, and metaphors that all point to truth - BY DESIGN. So every show has the benefit of either pointing to truth directly or pointing to it indirectly by trying to point away from it.
I'm learning that, as a human, I'll likely never completely keep my motives 💯g pure or my ego out of it, but I understand that's just pride whispering in my ear. It's best to reject those thoughts immediately. Since this life and this world is officially "a bust," my focus now is to pay into my heavenly 401k.

Thank you!
I've never been much of a writer. I see myself as a conversationalist. Since MDL amd IMDb had space limits, it ensures that I'll eventually shut up🤣.
I've learned that the view is very different from the bottom. My reviews are the perspective of someone who hit bottom. We get along so well I'm guessing that you probably believe in God, too. I wouldn't have made it to the last 5 years without God.
MAL- an anime site, just accused me of using AI to generate all of my reviews. I have them on google docs and was able to supply version histories and notes for things I haven't reviewed yet, so i successfully proved my case, but they were very nasty about it. Before you sent a message, i was wondering if i should even bother. I was thinking of giving up. God used you in my life.
I've seen MG and Dylan Wang carries it (the FL is vg too), but it doesn't shine as brightly as this one. When i finally get Viki, the Japanese one will be one of the first things I watch. I'm sure I'll get to the Thai (and the Taiwanese, if there is one) eventually. This was among the first 5 ot 10 Kdramas for me + my 3rd or 4th review. It served as a big hook.
I’ve been missing your reviews like my morning coffee, didn’t realize how much until now. Honestly, I have…
By the way, I'm halfway through To Be With You. I'm really enjoying it. The ML is darling and I love his playfulness. I'm going to read your review as soon as I'm done writing mine. I have to wait until I've written down my thoughts because I'm easily influenced, smh. I may slow down watching if things get painful, which I believe is coming. I can only handle so much sadness per day.
Hey, Love! You crack me up. If this was real life... well it's hard to imagine, lol. But it's not. He can only be forgiven because he's sincere and it works out. He went after the right thing in the wrong way because that's all he knew, but he becomes a better person in the end.
Anyway, it's the furthest thing from a show should be taken seriously. This is just a romance junkie fix. I can't wait to hear what you think.
I have backup downloads too! It only makes sense, right?
I love that 2AM inspiration. Jerry Maguire forever memorialized it. Sadly, truth comes to us in the quiet hours of the night, and the general public hates truth.
As an FYI, most Japanese entertainment starts as manga or a graphic novel. (And many Kdramas were originally manga... or manhwa, which is the K-variety). I haven't read much manga, but I've become an anime junkie since 2021. My Happy Marriage-8.3 is a wonderful anime that is based on the same original source material. It's currently on Netflix. They just announced a 3rd season. I didn't know they had a live action film! I'll be watching this before long.
Your words resonated with me. "stamped into my mind....lingering....hangover.... haven't even felt the need for a re-watch; it's just there....." - yep. I dread a rewatch, but i was really ill when i saw it and didn't take notes. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it.
Maybe the craziest thing is how the actress playing Kudo Hina nearly steals it. Gu Dong-mae's actor i had only seen in Hospital Playlist as the cotton candy sweet pediatrician. Bwaahaahaha! Shocker!
Hometown shows are so good. I thought there was a meaty element of My Mister devoted to that. Rocket Boys-8.3 also is about the hood as much as anything else. When the Camellia Blooms-8 is very much about the neighborhood, too. Vincenzo probably qualifies, too.
Hey! True story - i had a long response to your last messages and i lost all of it. That's why i haven't responded to you yet. I got upset and decided to circle back.
If you're a hometown girl, this is for you. I think that When the Camelia Blooms is about Hometown, too. Rocket Boys is also about smal town life. My son loved that show.
