To be honest the review is a bit uncomplete. I have only watched 1 episode and yet I find this so addictive. I had only watched 15 minutes of the first episode and I had cried so much!
Lee Min Ho is fantastic.
The drama portrays so much emotion it's hard not to feel as the characters do.
This is also my first KDrama, and I'm glad that I chose this one to watch first. I've always avoided KDramas but now I really don't get why I did! If you miss out on this you miss out on probably the most awesome drama ever.

I cannot wait to watch the next episode! XD

Sole reason for watching…

One name: Lee Min Ho.

Yep. A lot of netizens has been crazed over this drama because of the leading actor. I’m not saying I’m indifferent about this, because in truth, he’s also the reason why I started watching this drama. I’ve been making gifs out of this because I like Min Ho’s character whenever he fights. He uses whatever he finds as a weapon, i.e. a spoon, a file case folder and even a water bottle. So let me define cool.

Lee Yoon Sung. IS. COOL.

The chemistry of the two main characters is very amusing, it even leaves me breathless at times, because of the fact that both may not end up together in blissful happily ever after. I also have this tag line in my head in which I could never forget: Liking someone may not always mean happiness.

That was nicely said by Lee Yun Seong, Min Ho’s character – the city hunter.

The story is alright, the idea behind it was good it just seems to have strayed creatively along the way. The actors were pretty good although I found a few to be distastefully annoying and it was probably just the character they were portraying but other than that, not bad. The music was not bad, I just didn't notice it too much except for a song here or there, I would most definitely not re-watch this but then again I don't I have ever re-watched any drama i've seen so far. One of my biggest peeves in general whether it's a kdrama or not, is a bad/confusing/ridiculous ending...it just doesn't sit well with me and while the ending for this drama wasn't the most terrible, it was certainly not the best either, throughout the story many things were said and answered all was fairly well until there was a point about midway towards the ending that started to raise questions that by the time the drama was done were left unanswered.

I just shrugged off the ending for the most part but I was annoyed that I ended up with more questions than answers by the end of the drama and the ending itself was a hot mess in it's own way which is probably one of the most parts that left many questions without an answer.

If you are looking to watch something that has action, revenge and some romance then this is not too bad of a watch although some of the plots don't really develop as you would be used to in other dramas like the romantic side of it, there is a lot of back and forth throughout the episodes about the revenge thing and the action scenes were not bad at all, a bit cliched but not terrible.

Ending is not what you think, Please Read my Review

Now I see why everyone is crazy about Lee Min Ho... I loved the storyline but there was a glitch. There is only one small minimal thing I didn't like and it was the ending. Another cliffhanger left you wondering if he was alive or just an illusion. I hate those kinds of endings... No hug nor did he give her the ring. The writers did get me on one part and that is when the prosecutor died. Park Ming Young was great and another actress that showed her strength. This story wouldn't have happened without the other actors and actresses. Great job everyone even though this was back in 2011... I'm 8 years late in watching this.

Because I mentioned that I didn't like the last few minutes of the ending. I had to research to see if anyone else felt the same as I did. I found a clip from the writer, please read it. I am happy that Na Na and Yoon Sung did reunite at the end. You writers need to stop making these sorts of endings.

ENDING COMMENT BY WRITER: "Lee Yoon Sung' (Lee Min Ho). In the final scene, Yoon Sung and 'Na Na' (played by Park Min Young) were reunited in a happy ending, but some viewers were left to believe that Yoon Sung was actually a ghostly figure. However, the producer, Kim Yong Sup, stated to TVDaily on July 29th, "Yoon Sung is not dead". Kim Yong Sup elaborated, "Lee Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) sustained a bullet shot in the last episode, but after much time passes, he eventually meets Kim Na Na. He doesn't appear as a ghost as it was actually just a time jump that we had set up. Of course, I respect the arbitrary interpretation of the viewers. However, just the fact that Yoon Sung didn't die is, strictly speaking, the definition of a happy ending. The director and writer put in the scene with this as their mindset."

I watched City Hunter after watching Healer and came out slightly disappointed.

I think if you watched City Hunter when it came out you would have been blown away by how good and unique it is but newer shows steadily improve in writing, acting, and execution.

LMH was decent in this drama. I didn't understand the love line, but it was decently done. Also happy that PMY was a strong female lead!

The "city hunting" was very satisfying and one of the reasons why I watched this all the way through. There's nothing we as drama watchers love more than overcoming injustice and revealing the truth to all.

Also the character conflicts were interesting, especially between the main lead and his adoptive father.

I really respect dramas that try to incorporate it all, from crime fighting to action to romance. City Hunter is worth a watch if you like these genres all combined into one satisfying show!

Also, perhaps I am spoiled by American TV but I just thought what they showed as the Blue House and president were very unrealistic? Won't say any more here for risk of spoiling but curious at what everyone else thinks.

Good storyline and plot for action drama, even though the first 2 episodes kind of slow. The story makes us surprise and plot twist. Every episode makes the audiences curious what's next. Great music background. Really match every scene, especially during fighting scene. Those who really likes action drama without worry having less romance, this is it. The ending of the main story is great and satisfy. However, the epilogue ending could been better.

I thought Lee Minho played his role really well. Of course his cool looking cute face gave him the advantage. However, Park Min Young didn’t stood out. Her acting and facial expression was not memorable at all. If there is a part two, would like to see a different actress that is more compatible with Lee MinHo charm. No way City Hunter got shot on his left chest and still alive, unless he wear bullet prove vest. I guess it is better to see good ending then bad. Lee Sang Jun played City Hunter adopted revenge father really well. His eyes full of depth.

One of Lee Min Ho's Best Work

I really like this drama when I watched it almost a decade ago. It has everything I enjoy in a drama: revenge, secret identity, sleek action, cute romance and handsome/beautiful lead actors and the production team executed all of them perfectly. This drama exemplifies everything I associate about a k-drama and I mean this in the best way. I consider Lee Min Ho a mediocre actor but with leading actor charisma and his charisma really made him shine here. Park Min Young was adorable and beautiful here. I 100% recommend this drama .

City Hunter, my first love for a K-Drama

City Hunter is an excellent drama that evokes the most emotions in me throughout the entire show. The plot is very well-developed, and the fight scenes are truly epic, even memorable. The events then unfold quite rapidly. As for the characters, the duo of Yun Seong and Na Na, portrayed by Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young, is one of the drama's biggest strengths! They are so in sync that they form the most glamorous couple across all dramas. Another important point is that both Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young are SENSATIONAL, and they are among my absolute favorites as actors, especially in this drama! I also grew attached to other characters, namely Choi Da Hye (Goo Hara) and Jin Se Hee (Hwang Seo Hee). The OST perfectly matches the drama's atmosphere. Everything about it makes me absolutely love it! In short, it was my first love that led me to watch other Korean dramas.

Revenge, family, love... was it all worth it?

City Hunter will always be one of those classics that lives rent free in my brain. I’ve rewatched it a few times, but seeing it again as an adult added layers I didn’t fully catch when I was a teen. The political angles, the revenge plot, the emotional weight, the action sequences... everything hits a little deeper and somehow still stays exciting. It’s a heavy setup on paper, yet I found myself enjoying every scene like it was my first watch. And the OST? It’s been on my playlist for more than a decade since I first watched it.

Normally, I’d nitpick character choices left and right, but this drama gets a hall pass from me because of how much unspoken emotion is tucked into the story. Sometimes characters act messy or illogical, but that’s exactly what makes them feel human. And of course, Lee MinHo shines like the dependable go-to actor he is. Park MinYoung also caught me off guard. I remember her as this young version from City Hunter, so watching her newer works made me realize how gracefully she leveled up over the years.

This might not be everyone’s comfort genre, but if you love Lee MinHo or you’re looking for a solid action driven drama with heart, this is an absolute must-watch.
