Ji Bai talks to Shiyong after the rescuing about a previous attack on him that may be connected to the case, and inquires about any important details. Back at the police dorms Yao Meng praises Captain Ji for his abilities during Xu Xu's hostage situation, and Ji Bai has respect for Yao Meng. Unfortunately he even more so doesn't want Xu Xu on the force, but Team Leader Zhao Han disagrees. He convinces Ji Bai to give her another chance and she must pass the physical fitness test in 3 months in order to stay. With this in mind she asks Yao Meng to help her create a fitness routine in order for her to pass. Seeing her determination, Ji Bai slowly starts to warm up to Xu Xu and starts to see her potential professionally, and learn the reason why he doesn't tolerate incompetency because of Leader Zhoa Han's father's death. During her training Xu Xu still makes inquires about Shiyong's kidnapping because there is something that isn't sitting right with her and she tries to get to the bottom of it, by talking to Ye Zi.
