This is, hands down, one of the best Cdramas I've ever seen.

Based on the name, you would think it was a cutesy comedy, right? Wrong! It's an action thriller about a Violent Crime Unit and it takes place in several countries, in cities and in the jungle, there are drugs, murders and explosions and it's so action driven and suspenseful! Ah-mazing!

I loved Xu Xu. She was so smart and also so strong despite being petite and, well, snail-like in anything physical. But she worked hard on herself and she overcame so many hurdles - and Ji Bai, once he overcame his instant dislike of her because she had been forced on him by his superiors, always stood by her side and encouraged her and showed her the way and their relationship was just so good!

I loved how this drama was shot, using steady-cam and shaky cam, drone and CCTV footage. The cinematography was marvelous thanks to that. Just marvelous. And the music! The sound mixing in this was heavenly, the thump-thump-thump during the suspenseful moments always got me. I loved it.

I can highly recommend this drama to anyone who likes thrillers with a smidgen of romance and a lot globe-hopping and action. It's just 21 eps, 30+ min. each, but it's so worth it!

More focused on the criminal aspect than romance (Not bad but wish it had more romance)

The leads were amazing. I liked the ML and FL both as individuals. They also have good chemistry, sadly it was underutilized. We get to see how the FL developed her feelings for the ML, but we have no clue about how it happened for the ML. In his case, it simply seemed too abrupt and without any explanation. They got together in the final episode and he directly proposed marriage. Had the romance been better paced or more present, it would have had some rewatch value for me. But right now, I won't be coming back to this.

I did find the actors a refreshening change and will be checking out more of their dramas, hopefully some with better romance.

I've been waiting for something like this for a really long time. After watching Love me if you dare I hadn't found another show that could match up to this. But this is definitely on par with it. I loved the storyline and loved the casting. The story took place in two different countries catching people who sold kids and women across borders. The entire time that I was watching this I was at the edge of my seat. I was really obsessed with this series and loved it! I would really recommend anyone who loved watching Love me if you dare to see this.

Action pack drama with various kind of twist and turns !!!!!!!

I have been watching dramas since i was in 8 th standarder .
PLOT :
This drama is literally good it has blasting plot , casting and every ep is full of suspenseful. Be ready to catch ypur seat tightly while watching this drama eventhough this drama revolves around only one case but it is very suspenseful when they caught one suspect than other suspect appears.
ROMANCE:
If you are into a romantic drama with full of heartfluttery moments than it is not your cup of tea but it has some slow burn romance and there are two couples. The romantic movement between mainleads will bring butterflies to your stomach. The second leads couple are also very cute and they all have a nickname which is really cute.
CHARACTERS:
we have been seeing in every drama that main lead is strong and smart whereas female lead is weak but in this drama female lead is very intelligent eventhough she is shy but she knows what she is doing.

I started watching this drama because after watching so much of romantic dramas I want some with suspense or crime genre drama. After so many research I found this drama with some romance and crime genre and then I decided to watch this show.

Story- at first I thought it was so boring but after some episodes when the main cast actually meets . The crime part was actually very interesting but only when you watch it with fully concentration. The chemistry between the snail ? and the lion ? was interesting. And best part of the drama was the diary of Xu Xu. The emotional part was really very touching.

Cast - this is the first time when I like all the four characters very very much. I was really happy that in the last all the cast get together and it will be a happy ending.

U must watch this drama but with full of concentration.

U may watch the this drama on YouTube with eng sub.
Love from India ❤️

I had trouble getting into this drama with just watching the first 2 episodes, but once I was a couple episodes in and realized that all of the cases were connected and XuXu wasn't strange, just quiet, I was able to enjoy the story line. The story got really good and intense and I just had to keep watching it to see what happened. Personally, I liked the drama most once they left China to go to Burma because the danger levels got higher which made the pacing and suspense so much better!

I finished this drama and ended up having to watch it all over again because my mother saw some scenes and JUST HAD to watch it for herself to "really understand the ending," she said. XD So I watched it twice in the span of 2 weeks. If a drama is good enough for me to watch twice, especially in such a short time period, I would definitely say it's worth the watch.

CAUTION -- Ji Bai (Wang Kai) might give you a nosebleed while watching this (sexy lion you), so come prepared before sitting down to watch.
Also, I plan on reading the Chinese novel this drama is based on because the story was just THAT good.

Such an Underrated Treasure!

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this gem but I am so glad I did because I absolutely love it!! I’ve rewatched it multiple times & still find myself wanting to watch it all over again. If you’re a fan of this genre & haven’t watched this, then don’t even bother reading my review - just press play!

This caught & held my attention from moment one. The pacing can seem a bit draggy since we’re used to fast-paced & high-action shows these days, but I found the rate at which it moved to be very soothing & enticing. I was able to easily follow along with what was happening in the cases rather than getting lost in lots of chaotic scenes. And this pacing also allowed us to really see the growth of the recruits as they navigated their new roles & acclimated to the team. The girls each had their strengths & weaknesses, so watching them mature & know themselves better was satisfying to watch.

I love the tropes used by the writer. We have the no-nonsense leader who doesn’t think the soft-spoken new recruit from the psychology department can hack it on his team. He has high standards &, unfortunately, she doesn’t meet his physical ability requirements (as proven when he had to save her from a frenzied criminal - talk about a memorable first meeting!) So he sets a challenge that she must meet within his given timeframe or he’s kicking her off the team. Our FL is no quitter, though, so she puts in the effort & goes all out to prove she deserves her spot.

During all this she’s an active member in helping with cases, though in a limited capacity. And while her inexperience & naivety sometimes lead her to the wrong conclusion, the ML comes to recognize & value her insights/expertise. I really loved watching the FL grow in her confidence in her abilities as she works to correct her flaws/mistakes when she’s made aware of them so as to not be a hinderance to the team. She only ever wants to be an asset to them. It takes a strong person to admit when they’re wrong so her doing this makes her girl-crush worthy. 💜

While romance isn’t the main focus of the show, I couldn’t help but soak in each sweet interaction between the Leads. I got all the feels watching the ML’s slow fall for the FL as he began to value & admire her, first as a colleague, then as a woman. The ways he cares for her & protects her without diminishing her strengths are so swoon worthy. Having said that, do not go into this expecting lots of romance because that truly is not the priority of the storyline. It’s more like the background bonus that the viewers can’t help but eagerly soak up.

This is by far one of my favorite dramas in its genre. The cases, the plot/pacing, the team dynamics & friendships - they were all wonderfully executed & portrayed. And the FL’s way of expressing herself through her drawings is so cute (& also explains the drama’s title 🙃).

There’s a Thai remake &, being completely honest, it did not at all measure up to the Chinese version, imho. So if you’ve only watched the remake & not the original, definitely give this one a try (& vice versa if you want!)

I sincerely wish this was on more platforms so it was accessible & easily viewable!!

Where to begin for this drama - how about wow, spectacular, well done. It is very rare you come across a drama that is so well done, you don't see any flaws whatsoever. That is what you have in When a Snail Falls in Love. The drama does a great job of balancing it's romance, crime, drama, thriller genre that I was never confused at what I was watching. However, for those who want all fluff, this may not be your cup of coffee. I also appreciated the director's use of filming styles and the cinematography was just beautiful. It is definitely in my top 10!

On a Special Note!

Acting/Cast: Well done! The chemistry between the leads - Wang Kai (Ji Bai) and Wang Zi Wen (Xu Xu) was fire!

More Please!
I loved the OST of this drama. I wish they would have played more of it; but, I know this is just a selfish request.

Honorable Mention: I sincerely appreciate when women play non-traditional/unusual roles. Zhang Yan Yan's character was a good breath of fresh air.

Would I Re-watch?
Yes! Yes! Yes!

great storyline, cute drama

i really loved this drama! The first time I watched it was on Viki. I can no longer find it there as it's been replace by a remake from Thailand of the same name. I really love the storyline and character development. it's definitely worth a watch. Wang Kai is the whole reason I watched this drama. he's a fantastic actor and his character is well portrayed and believable. The female lead wasn't bad and get she's meant to be shy sorta but I wished not been so mousy and damsel in distress so much.

Detective in love

Snail... was the best detective drama that I watched in 2016. The writing and production format were the equivalent of a British detective drama. The plot is very intricate, and it is best to binge-watch the drama, to maintain the continuity and focus. The detective team demonstrated the true meaning of teamwork and loyalty. Ji Bai represents the true team leader; pragmatic, unemotional, inspiring.

All the actors did a very good job with their character roles. The drama villains were the Ye extended family members. Wang Kai/Ji Bai's action scenes were flawless.

WASFIL is an interesting drama full of action and intrigue with some light romance thrown in. I like the that the women's characters are written as strong and smart. It is what drew me into the drama. I think it is a little predictable, but it is still a well written plot. I also like the cinematography and the way it was directed.

Wang Kai was great as the strong and fair leader, Ji Bai. The leads have great chemistry. Wang Olivia is totally awesome as Xu Xu. She is smart, strong and great at adapting. Plus, she is pretty fearless. I enjoyed her character so much. All the actors are good.

The music is good.

I will probably rewatch this someday.

If you like detective shows with action and a slow romance, then this is the drama for you.

First of all, I didn't read the novel before I watched this drama. And I think it was a very good decision when I listen to people who read the novel first.

After Love me, if you dare I was very excited for this drama. Not only because of the story but also because of Wang Kai. He is my favourite Chinese Actor, so it was a must to watch this drama.

Story: I like the story because it is a mix of crime, action and romance. This was an aspect for me to watch the drama. When I was watching I liked it even more...but why is the story not a 10? Because there is something I didn't like. It is the problem, which many chinese dramas have. The problem I mean is, that many chinese dramas are too draggy. When a Snail falls in Love is a very good drama and at the beginning it was promising. But there are some things I don't understand. I don't know the ending of the novel but I know the Ending of anothter Ding Mo novel (and there was a clear ending). I can live with cliffhangers at the end of every episode, but I don't like cliffhangers at the end of the last episode. Why can't Dramas have a clear ending? That is one of the problem of WaSfiL. I can't compare the drama adaption with the novel, but what I heart was, that there are some things missing. In my opinion there are some thing which are not clear. For example the viewer don't know how much time is between some scenes. I wish that they would have written it on the screen. And the episodes are too short. Maybe they should have had 45 Minutes or more than 21 Episodes.
This are the Main Reasons why I rated this drama not so high like Love me if you dare.

Acting: Like I wrote above, I am a big fan of Wang Kai. His performance in Love me, if you dare was excellent. And I liked him in Ode to Joy very much. So i was very excited for his performance as the male Lead. And he didn't disappoint me as the police officer Ji Bai. Captain Ji is a silent, attractive and smart person. Maybe a little bit arrogant in the beginning. But after he realises that Xu Xu isn't a normal psychologist, his personality in front of her changes. In my opinion (and after watching Wang Kai as a police officer twice) the performance of Wang Kai as an police officer is very good.
Wang Olivia as Xu Xu was very good, too. Honestly, in Ode to Joy I didn't liked her character, but her acting as Xu Xu, a snail like psychologist who falls in love for the first time is very good. Xu Xu and Ji Bai are a beautiful couple. They understand each other, they know each other and they know what the other of them is thinking. The chemistry is very good and I like the two of them together very much.
The supporting characters were very good, too. So I think I will check out more of their dramas. If it were not for the Acting skills of the Actors and Actresses I wouldn't rate this drama with a 9. But the Actors rescued it with the amazing performance.

Music: The Music is good. I like the opening theme very much and the Music which is played during the episodes ist good, too.

Rewatch Value: I don't know. Maybe, because the episodes are not an hour long, but it depends on my mood.

I would recommend it, if you didn't read the novel yet. Maybe is it better to read the novel after you watched the drama.
