To secure the Empress Dowager's position, Niohuru Zhen Huan makes the same deal with Empress Ulanara, where she will let Qing Ying live if the Empress commits suicide. Qing Ying witnesses her aunt's suicide in front of her eyes, while the Empress expresses her final wish of wanting Qing Ying to avenge her and bring back glory to the Ulanara clan by becoming Empress in the future.
