Both female leads are the definition of a strong, female lead. They are both determined, dedicated, and do not fit the mold of the cookie-cutter feminine chick, but stand strong behind their principles and do not take crap from the people who want to bully them. The male leads are what every male lead should be as they care about the girl, despite her flaws, and support her while being kind and sweet.

Also, both dramas have fitness as a theme so that is another similarity!

-They both have a CReEPILY similar vibe, despite the plot being totally different
-They both take place in a very new, modern, brightly colored and unfairly spacious boarding school (although, Kim Bok Joo's is a college (so, duh, they live there) and To the Beautiful You's is a boarding high school)
-The best friends are the best part (side only to the romance if you're more into that thing)
-Both revolve around the main characters' sports and a primary plot line is training or overcoming some (or several) sport obstacle(s)
-They both feature rhythmic gymnastics as a sort of side plot (and the participants are always the mean girl)
-Both have a strikingly similar ratio of humor to drama; the humor being of the same type/style, and the drama relating to the mother of the male lead
-For some reason the school's doctor is a friend/somewhat needed side character that falls in love with one of the two lead's siblings
-Even the originally bad characters become lovable
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THIS??

Both shows about female leads who are insecure about their looks but the male leads help them to be more self confident:
-In true beauty the female lead has a problem with her appearance, so she put makeup to be accepted in society.
-In weightlifting, the female lead thinks that she lost her femininity by lifting barbells.
In both main male leads have dark secrets past but are nice.
Both include love triangle, friendship and college/school theme.

They both revolve around sports. I also think that, though the dynamic between the leads is different in each drama, the relationships start and grow in a similar way!

- both have a fl who starts off by having a crush on an older guy that's kind, mature (compared to the ml) and already likes a girl his age
- both have fls that are not seen as conventionally attractive
- both mls have similar personalities
- production/cinematography are similar in both shows
- both delve into the romance of the older characters

I think this is the first show that has a very similar vibe to weight lifting fairy. The interaction between the two leads are so similar, the gestures and how they talk. Bring it on ghost has the supernatural aspect but overall if you want cute and flirty interactions like in weightlifting fairy watch bring it on ghost and vice veraa.

Great humor and 'friends-turned-couple' type of dramas :D

This is chinese remake . The original is from Korean drama which is WFKBJ . Looking forward for this chinese version while their actor also change . Aaa cant wait

"Baby Steps" revolves around Maruo Eiichiro, a punctual and earnest boy who has strived for straight As since elementary school. The 15-year-old high school boy stops by a tennis school to deal with his lack of exercise. There, he meets Takasaki Natsu, a beautiful, earnest girl who only has a passion for tennis.

both are enemies-friends-lovers storylines. the ml and fl immediately get off on the wrong foot before realising they knew each other as kids. they eventually become friends and start to fall in love. both couples have friendly/needling banter. WF is set in college whereas LE2 is set in the working world.

-Coming of age dramas about of group of friends and their college life in university
-The FL personality’s are same - They are cute, clumsy,impulsive and fall in love with another male at first sight and don’t see the ML more than a friend
-The ML leads are calm, sweet and fall in love with FL’s first ..

Both are sports dramas with good, but different types of humor, good romance (and for 'real' romance you have to wait quite long in both dramas).
'Whirlwind...' is more action than 'Weightlifting...' , but the second one has really great friendship and 'normal life' plot.

The stories are completely different but the character chemistry is similar. If you're looking for all the same friendship, humor and chemistry between ML and FL I would recommend to watch this. Both make your heart melt.

Tsuchiya Tomomitsu is the captain of his high school basketball team. He is also a senior at his school. Even though he is not that good in basketball, he is selected as bench player for the prefecture qualifying round. The underclassmen on his team, who are all better than him, are not happy about his selection.
Tomomitsu then meets Hatori Sae. She is also a senior at the same high school. She keeps watching Tomomitsu shoot three pointers. They become closer and develop a romantic relationship. Suddenly, Sae transfers to another school without saying a word.
