This is one of the first Chinese BL's I've watched, and as we know due to China's censorship I wasn't even expecting there to be spicy scenes. But even tho this was more like a bromance it was really good in my opinion, the actors understood their roles pretty good and carried on like that until the end.
Oh and, since y'all saw that there's a a bodyguard training company I can mention it, and I won't spoil anything, I just wangted to say that since I used to train kickboxing for around 5 years, bodyguard training center was one of the things that made me wanna watch this drama even more lol
I hope you find my review kinds helpful and not so boring
For me there were lots of funny and cute scenes! So I really loved this drama. I'm a sensitive. All in all this drama is interesting and worth watching :D

This would have been a 10
This started out absolutely fantastic. I loved the whole cast. I binged almost 20 episodes in one night. As more and more episodes went by, I’m thinking why are these guys sleeping in the same bed together? Are these guys together? what’s going on? Is this a BL or not? Unfortunately, I found out that the Viki version is chopped and cut so much the whole thing makes no sense. This definitely would have been a 10 for me but I’m still confused about a lot of things and no closure at the end. And what an ending it was. It was like the ending of an episode expecting more in the next. Sorry to the cast that the censures did you so wrong.I can’t say enough about the cast though. The leads were super hot and very fit. What a great idea to have a bodyguard training facility. They are all very talented actors.

Worth watching
Well this was CUTE! Beside that "ending" this drama doesn't have many flaws.Love the leads in this, their chemistry is amazing, the acting is wonderful and the affection is lovely.
Still wonder how this passed all that China banning but I'm glad that it did.
This is such a lovely drama that ends without an ending. But that doesn't mean that you should give up on this.
Would like to recommend this to those who like: easy, light hearted and romantic drama, with gorgeous leads and without unnecessary drama from the other characters. The second couple is amazing and it's nice to see their progress as a couple from enemies to lovers. That can also be said for the lead couple.
Definitely recommend this !!!!

Yuan Zong is like a mama bird, and Xia Yao & Yuan Ru his chicks. He obviously has a soft spot for spoiled selfish bratty type. He has sis-complex for Yuan Ru who's much younger, spoiled and kinda clueless with worst taste in man. Approaches Xia Yao, another spoiled and narcissistic rich boy at his sister's request, and ends up taking him under his wings. Xia Yao has his moments, but he's a easily likable with full blown charms and so very pretty. ^^ Hard to imagine him as kickboxing champion. Some of the plot holes include Xia Yao's buddy Xuan Dayu with questionable mentality. One miniute he's desperately seeking Xia Yao's attention, jealous of everyone around him; next minute, he practically becomes a sugar daddy to an orphan thief with tragic story. Third coupling of an ass of another buddy and his androgynous 'friend' is even more uncertain. I even liked Xia Yao's mom, who has taste for good food, good looking man, and flattery from talking bird. Yuan Ru also has her charms: determination and easy going attitude. With interesting story, fair action, and charming characters, I bet this drama would've been a mega hit if they left it at BL. Why couldn't Taiwan produced this drama? ^^;

The kind of bromance we love.
YouTube just randomly recommended this show to me and I'm not mad about it.I never heard of it before, neither did I know what it was about.
Due to the chinese ban we didn't see those intimate moments (like in the novel) and I saw many comments criticizing that. It didn't bother be at all tbh. The main leads did an exellent job of showing the emotions and feelings through their eyes and they way they acted around each other. You could feel how much they cared about each other. The chemistry was top tier.
The only thing that bothered me was the ending....it felt more rushed than anything. Thats why I rated it 9 stars.
The story of the side couple was kinda weird to me. What was that scene with that chicken, and how did everybody else laugh about it in the comments? Did I miss something? He legit murdered that animal wth.
In general I really liked the story itself. I dig the Ifellinlovewithmysisterscrush - trope.
Cute show, without a heavy storyline. :) Would watch again.

Swiss Cheese
Let's start from the good things. I loved the actors. They created every character in a credible way - including the characters that weren't all that well written. This applies of course to the main leads, with their contrasting personalities, the sister, hysterical and bitchy, the rich friends, spoiled and vain, as well as the thief, smoothly manipulating his a** out of troubles. I would also like to mention the mother character: she is just there, looking elegant, watching soap operas, enjoying her son-in-law's cooking, and never causing unneeded drama. Way to live! The romance between the main leads was shown perfectly, taking the censorship into consideration. Watching those two mess with each other and care for each other all the time was pure pleasure. The way Gong Jun's character teases his bf, takes money out of his pocket because he knows he can, and simply moves in at some point is cute and hilarious at the same time.
Here the good things end and I need to talk about the plot. Starting from the premise, where a dude agrees to hit on another dude in the name of his younger sister, the whole story is absurd. The characters' actions are sometimes weird or stupid, or even plain criminal, but they don't get called out on this. And don't even get me started about the ending. Construction workers need a rich boy's help? Really? And then leave him in the well to freeze? Really, really? It's a pity, because with a story less offensive to reason, this could really be a great series.

Lacking Something
I know they were not able to add kissing and more. I understand but there is nothing more than brother friend feeling to the story. I personally thought the acting was good. There are three “couples” and they might or might not be in love. There are hints to say they might be in love but for instance the main lead’s sister never says I think they hang out together because they care for each other. would this be too much? I am not sure. I do think that China let them make a bromance story is probably a lot for them. There is still some kind of emotional attachment missing. The two main leads have a connection but it is not on a deep level. The side characters are way too comedic and the ending is too. I have watched stories where the leads never kiss and they have slight comedy but still the story gives a bit of room for emotions without the sudden comedic moment. The flow is off when the comedy overwhelms the emotion. This all may be due to the restrictions imposed. so this is worth a watch but not a multiple time watch. We will have to wait for these kinds of countries to grow up a bit. Seems childish to be so much against this when the world has big issues and problems. Was this review helpful to you?
So Very Cute Series!
I've already re-watched this cute story a couple of times (the "uncut" version is better but the "censored" version is pretty darn good itself). Aside from the great production quality, and great acting, the story is cute and the internal dialogue of the characters is hysterical! Some of the jokes/behaviors of these two idiots (affectionate) are very subtle but worth looking out for. It is also interesting as a historical snapshot in time of a BL series "romance" (compared to the overtly explicit modern examples like "4 Minutes").Was this review helpful to you?

Messy and so many plot holes
The 10-15 minutes cut from each episode really turned the plot into a half-assed slice-of-life. I enjoyed the chemistry and comedic scenes. However, this show is lacking in character depth, highlights, adequacy, and completeness. The plot holes bothered me a lot. First, we were never told Xia Yao's true motive on signing up for Yuan Zong's bodyguard academy. I thought he found the Yuan siblings annoying and didn't want anything to do with them? Xia Yao and Yuan Zong end up falling for each other, but NEVER announce their relationship or clear up misunderstandings about Xia Yao being Yuan Ru's boyfriend. This led Xuan Dayu to attack Yuan Ru for "cheating" on Xia Yao with another guy.
The inconsistency in side characters' actions also made me drop the rating. Xuan Dayu hated Wang Dashui for taking his money and was so determined in tracking him down. After learning Dashui's sad backstory, Dayu immediately forgave him and even supported him financially. And then he went on to abusing Dashui just because he was Dashui's sugar daddy. He also has an unhealthy obsession and possessiveness for Xia Yao, which makes me wonder, who even is Dayu's true love? And then Peng Ze clearly has a girlfriend, but he's also sugar babying another androgynous man. Xuan Dayu criticized Yuan Ru for being unloyal (to Xia Yao), but not Peng Ze? The double standards.
I was hyped up for this drama because my favorite actors were in it, but even rewatching this again couldn't make me ignore how bad the plot is.

The movie had incredible potential. It had multiple plots, action and thrills, good acting, and good chemistry... BUT: China is doing a number with censorship! After the Chinese Inquisition (i.e. the Chinese censorship office... lol) finished cutting out what it deemed unacceptable, it left us with a film in shambles. Scenes are interrupted and cut short, there are countless abrupt endings to conversations, characters appear out of the blues with no background, or explanation... but the strangest and weakest failure is in the script itself. This movie has the most fatuous, pointless, and disconcerting (not to call it ridiculous) ending I have seen in all of Chinese cinema. It cheapens the entire movie and feels as if the ending too had been removed by the offices of the Chinese Inquisition and replaced with a finale designed by kids for the middle school play.
Like I said: Do not waste your time!

Great but too bad it's from China
Geez, I really think this is worth doing again in Thai or Taiwan. It was really great up to the ending if that's what you want to call it. It wasn't a bromance it is a love story. That's plain and obvious. There was not kissing or anything else, but they slept together almost overnight. The 6 guys were all awesome. Simon and Jason just light up the screen and were obviously enjoying the series. Their chemistry just overflowed on the screen. Just the best. The story is too good to leave it alone. The sides stories and the main story left me wanting more even with censorships. Again it must be redone without censorship. Some one please do it. Bravo this production company minus the ending. Like what's with the cartoon ending? Was this review helpful to you?
