Rare modern arranged marriage
8/10 is my rating. This is a 2004 South Korean romance movie 115 minutes in length.The movie is about a 16 year old high school student and the boy she grew up around. Both the girl Bo-eun (Moon Geun-young) and the boy Sang-min (Kim Rae-won) really love the grandfather enough to grant his wish to see them married before he dies. Their marriage also fulfills a pact Sang-min’s grandfather and Bo-eun’s grandfather’s made with each other during the Korean War which was to unite their families through marriage. Bo-eun wants to please her grandfather but, despite the marriage, continues with her high school life by dating her crush, the school’s star baseball player, Jun woo. Sang-Min actually loves his young wife and ignores her hurtful behavior realizing she is extremely young and was not ready for marriage. Things are further complicated when Sang-min does an art internship at Bo-eun’s school and the two agree to hide their relationship. Over time Sang-min’s patience and kindness toward Bo-eun to cause her feelings of resentment fade and she remembers the love she felt for the boy that was always b her side.
Spoiler 🚨 I really liked this and thought it was cute for what it was. In movie form the story felt very rushed but I am more used to the deep character development and evolutions that occur in tv series. My mother was 15 and my father 18 when they married and I married my husband at 18 so that part was not strange for me at all. Just 35 years ago it was not at all strange even in the western world to have a young woman date or marry someone several years older. I saw Moon Geu-young in “Mary Stayed Out All Night” and enjoyed her performance in that role as well. Seeing this one cleared up why she is known as “Korea’s Little Sister“ as she did seem incredibly young in this one. I enjoyed it despite it feeling rushed.

You can't compare it to today's movies because of that 14 yrs gap and at that time Korean film making was not as good as what it is now. The only thing i didn't like in this movie was that, movie was only revolving around the main leads. It is the right thing to do, but that would have been much better if they had shown about characters too.
Overall i'm giving it 7.5/10 this is not the best movie but definitely worth a shot.

This is not the worst Kdrama I’ve watched, but boy.. was it hard to get through..Aside from the main theme being a 16 yr old high school student marrying a 23 yr old playboy, there were other issues as well..
The way the family accepted their daughter being married off at 16 was crazy.. at least wait til she’s not a minor! The manipulation by grandpa was not cool and showed zero care for the feelings, life goals, or thoughts of the couple..
The storyline would have been much more believable if they got married with the understanding that he would stay abroad doing whatever it was he was doing before, and she would finish high school and graduate college. Then he comes back to Korea, after they’ve both had a taste of life (without stunting her childhood, and he could hopefully become mature enough for a committed relationship) Then it seems like they would have a fighting chance, with no regret later in their marriage for the things they gave up while fulfilling grandpa’s wishes..
This is not a re-watch for me..

Acting/Cast: The actors and actresses are all good the characters have a lot of interesting traits for themselves.
Music: I didn't pay much attention
Re-watch Value: If are looking for a movie to watch on a weekend or you're just bored this is a great romance story time killer
Overall: The movie was good and I would watch it to kill time

I know some Western viewers were turned off by the plot with the underage girl, but seriously the romance in this was VERY innocent and appropriate for the supposed age of the female lead. The 2 leads go way back and the husband is not the player he tries to make himself out to be. He is very caring and understanding towards his new bride who is understandably reluctant due to her age. She just wants to be a teenage girl with a crush on the star baseball player. It takes her a little time to realize she may just have feelings for her husband after all.
Overall, I enjoyed this movie and would watch it again sometime.

Must watch!
Okay, I’m in love with this movie!!! I’ve watched it over 5 times and I can’t get over it!! It’s so cute!! Now I know what most people are thinking. “Omg that’s so gross! How can a 15 year old and a teacher get married and live together!?”.Listen, it’s not as inappropriate as it sounds!
1. They were forced by his grandfather as his last wish.
2. They didn’t do anything too bad with each other.
3. They grew up with each other so they have seen, heard, and smelled (you know what I mean😂) everything about each other! It’s nothing new or unusual to them! (Which is why they’re more friendlier with each other then most people would be).
I really want people to give this movie a chance because I can GUARANTEE you will love it!! And if by chance you don’t like it, then move on. You didn’t pay to watch it so it’s fine!
This will forever be my ultimate favorite movie out of all movies of every culture, race, and language I’ve ever seen put together.
