She Is Beautiful (2018)

This is a rom-com for more matured audience. It's still funny and romantic to catch audience attention, but at the same time realistic enough to believe. I like the journey the leads fall in love, like the fact that all characters have both good and bad sides, and like the fact that they develop to be better but don't change completely after falling in love (which sadly happens to too many good dramas!). Of course, it's still a drama, so some elements need to be exaggerated. But overall, this is a very well-balanced show. I particularly like the female lead charisma and confidence, especially the way she resolved tricky situations at work and personal life. She did some embarrassing things and faced the consequence confidently (though her inner side is screaming:)). Sometimes her life is a mess and instead of crying in the corner or waiting for her prince, she rises to power. This requires immerse mental strength. If you have been through similar situations you will appreciate how strong this woman is. The male lead is also charismatic and extremely supportive. He is definitely not a knight in a shining armor like in other dramas, but he proves himself to be the best suitor for her.

I usually stay away of the dramas with a lot of episodes; this one with 40, but i am glad i stayed with this one. As with all my dramas, the leads are the best for me. I guess that is true for most people...without interesting leads, why bother.
Even if the supporting characters are not the best, if it has great leads i love it. I dont usually rewatch most dramas, but i will rewatch my favorite lead scenes, and this one had many.
Absolutely love FL. She is both vulnerable and confident. She is truly loved by her family and most of those she works with. Another familiar story of lead being great at their job, but not so great in love.
Not totally sure why the birthmark is such a taboo, i don't know if it is cultural, but in USA i dont think such a pretty successful woman would have such trouble hooking up with a man. I still think she is beautiful even with the mark, but she offers so much more than that, that she is definitely a good catch for any guy.
Loved that the ML never gave up. Really showed how much he truly loved her. Epidode 39 scene where he finally breaks her down and convinces her to be with him is one of the best and emotional scenes in any drama i have seen, and I have probably watched over 100 by now. i rewatch that scene quite a lot.
So, just like most dramas, many of the similar scenes are here, but i have yet to tire of them. Outstanding just for the FL alone and i would recommend.

A few months ago I was going through a really depressive period and began isolating myself to my room again. I came across She Is Beautiful on prime video and decided to watch it because I liked the storyline.

The theme tune was so endearing and catchy and it made me so happy.

And then I instantly adored the main leads. She Is Beautiful really reminds me of She was pretty (Korean).

The series is so funny, and warmhearted. I liked every single character and I just wanted it to go on forever and ever. I am so saddened that She Is Beautiful isn't talked about very often and how it seems to have been overlooked by so many because it's so incredible. It really helped me ????

A good watch with a bunch of great actors

PLOT: The FL, a TV show producer, totally invested in her job because she is "disfigured" by a birthmark, a workaholic, meets the ML (manager from Silicon Valley and heir to a great company) in a blind date. She then finds him as a colleague in the production company. -> Conception and evolution of a TV show. Evolution of the relationship into lovers. Disapproval of the ML's mother -> sends her ideal daughter-in-law as CEO of the company.
2 secondary romances: the FL's brother (ML3) and assistant (FL3) / CEO & presenter (FL2)

+++ Excellent actors, all of them.
+++ Storyline is pretty much realistic
+++ Great OSTs (really)

### The FL is super discriminated by an easily hidden birthmark :( Also, in the last third, her birthmark evolves into "cancer" (which is not realistic)
### The character of the whiny, excessively clumsy, lacking in confidence and shy FL3 during the first part, who becomes a demanding tigress after marriage, is not coherent.
### Some characters are caricatural (FL3's parents; FL's father; etc.)
### I am deeply annoyed by the parents' attitude (I am aware of the cultural differences and the impact of Confucianism) but how in the 21st century, can parents make decisions for their mature adult children (or even kidnap them)???

### Certains personnages sont caricaturaux (parents de la FL3; père de la FL; etc.)
### je suis profondément agacée par l'attitude des parents (je suis consciente des différences de culture et de l'impact du confusianisme) mais comment au XXIe siècle, des parents peuvent prendre les décisions pr leurs enfants adultes matures (voire kidnapper pr la FL3) ???
