Two twin girls are separated at birth. One grows up in a loving family. The other one doesn't. They finally meat by complete accident on a town fair. No one ever told them about the other one so they begin familiarizing with each other. It's based on the novel The Old Capital by the Nobel-winning Japanese writer Yasunari Kawabata, and it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. ~~ Adapted from the novel "Koto" (古都) by Yasunari Kawabata (川端康成).
