For now, the story was pretty good. The love alarm app was a bit confusing at first, but it quickly got clearer as the drama progressed. The part with the school love story was cute, although the begining of the romance was awkward. Still, the love triangle was strong and it only seems to get better and better in the second part.
The performances were really good, moreover. Plus the leads had nice chemistry between them. However, there were some parts that were just too predictable and common in korean dramas.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

A Pack of Criticism Wrapped in 'Uncooked' Romance
This review is written solely depended on the drama since I figure that there is season 2 in the making (supposed to be released two weeks ago?) and based on a webtoon.I love the premise! Love Alarm represents a concern and also a social condition where 'digital era' is one step ahead of people. This time, the technology is taking over people's feeling and make it visible through others by the presence of Love Alarm. The procedure of the app is still unknown for me, but the time I know how it works I am sure that its function to manipulate people to rely on it is damaging. I love the tone of the drama changed after the fast-forwarded scenes.
HOWEVER. I feel that the love story brought by the presence of the app is still lousy. The characters are still pretty much flat and cartoonish. Jojo with her naivety, Sunoh with his selfishness and Hyeyeong is just too kind...so does Dukgu. And Gulmi, she is pretty much an antagonist to hate here.
Jojo's feelings don't have basic ground. Her background story doesn't motivate her to do something. As if victim-blamed, she's just embracing her deeds just as it is. I thought there will be development about it. And then Sunoh, he may look like the main character everyone is rooting for, however, he is too self-centred to be called a protagonist. His good looking persona seems like taken for granted here so he can do things he wanted (pushing over Hyeyeong and Jojo, and rebelling without valid reasons). Hyeyeong and Dukgu here are collecting sympathy from the audience, I kind of feel sorry for them....as if their character here is only for the main characters to be happy and feel good. Again, the class problem seems apparent here for creating distance between the characters instead of as a reason for them to struggle to fight it in the name of their feeling.
Looking forward for the next season to confirm the next story and closure of this series. It ended nicely to continue in next season.

Not for me
Okay so it’s not often that I agree with the negative feedback on drama’s especially my k-drama’s but I have to say. I do on this one.The actors were why I watched it - love love love Song Kang and others in this drama but the story for me fell short, way short of what I was expecting. That and the fact that, as others have already said, “too unrealistic” in the story and the characters. That’s not the actors fault but the writers.
So this one is definitely a “never watch again” for me.

I LOVE THIS DRAMA
This drama was so good. It hits all the right spots if you're looking for a school romance. The reason why I didn't give it a 10 is because the story felt a little rushed. A lot of things happen fast and it's hard to wrap your head around it (it might be because I binged). Another reason is that the motives that the characters had were weak, and at times they didn't make much sense for them to act that way. Also, some of the characters were under-developed in my opinion. But still, this drama is a must watch. The characters grow on you and their interactions are so cute! Not to mention season 2 is coming out.Was this review helpful to you?

O.M.G. As soon as Netflix had sent me a notification that there had supposedly been a new drama out called "Love Alarm" I clicked on it without even thinking 100% And let me just say that I made the best choice of that whole entire day. I spent the whole day and the next morning (because I didn't want to watch a short season so quickly since I already fell in love and didn't want to get hard broken) non stop. The whole story to me was very creative. Personally speaking I think some originally book stories that then turn into dramas usually turn out very great!
You probably already know what it is about it's really not difficult which is also another great part of the show. No part of the show made me replay 16 times because I didn't understand, it was point, blank, period.
I absolutely loved the connection with Kim Jojo ( love her name) and Sun Oh SO much! They looked so cute and Sun oh is just such a cutie! And the fact that they always sticked together and on episode 5 or 6 when Jojo went straight to him for protection, I absolutely loved that. Another thing is, the background info they had on Jojo was good too and all added up, no cover ups, slow paced, nada. It was truly the perfect timing for us to know her background.
Although I would write a whole biography on this book and place the show in a precious museum, there are some things where I as a viewer had to say were petty. These things were just more minor than really big it wasn't exactly the directors fault more just how the character itself was. I'm saying this because (spoiler I suppose is coming), Sun Oh's best friend had a crush on Jojo and Sun Oh never once hesitated with going for her. I mean he did fall in love with her right when she got back but his friend HAD liked her first... even though Hye Young took to long for a move lol.
Another flaw was Kim Jojo's ways. She ran away from a lot of her "problems" that wouldn't be problems if she hadn't over stressed herself with fear. I won't spoil this one but episode 6.... It still confuses me on why she did what she did and actually had me stop watching for 30 minutes to process her point at all. Even before she'd do stupid small things and say she could never explain or it was to "protect that other person". The female lead sometimes does that in dramas but I feel like in so many they Never explain how exactly it "protects" the other which I wish she, or her show, could have explained haha.
Thank you if you've made it through the end, or even skimmed :)

First love
This drama blindsided me! a ranom click on Netflix and here you go. Rarely do I get heart flutters in kdramas nowadays, most just don’t translate to me anymore for some reason. But this series was just pleasant surprise. Such and interesting story line. a lot of what ifs to draw about reality. But What really drew me were the characters and cinematography. I love how the story focused on the bliss moments of falling in love - of first love. Those short encounters, stolen glances, slowmow, awkwardness, embarassment, hurt and even stupidity. Yes, when your actions doesnt make sense but you do it anyway, just because it felt right. Each scene extracted those exact emotions which makes you feel and reminisce as well! I was fascinated by how Jojo’s eyes could express love, gratitude, sadness so geniunely in such moments. And, Im so drawn to the couple’s chemistry! Seriously their chemistry is undeniable. My learning from this drama is that love is indeed a miracle, it just happens! You can’t control it but you can choose follow it or not. The feeling of liking someone and being liked back.. is one the greatest gifts.

actually this drama is a bit boring because the storyline is same as all drama , rich male lead and poor girl and a love triangle but sometimes this is fun but in this drama it is not specifically love but also social issues highlighted which is good but it is not worth watching they just so pulled the drama so far and made no sense .but i suggest you to try the trailer after all it should be your decision .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Love Triangles...
I waited for this drama for so long and i started a countdown from the moment the trailers came out. This is one of the best dramas i've seen so far! I finished it two days after it had been released as i kept on binge watching it. I was so addicted.I really like the actress, Kim So Hyun, and i had watched two of her previous works(School 2015 and Radio Romance)They all kind of have similar theme which is Love Triangles it was a bit obvious in who she was going to pick in the two dramas. However, for Love Alarm it is hard to tell on who she is going for. Both Sunho and Hye Yong likes Kim Jojo and rung her alarm... Tbh, i was rooting for my dude Sun Ho (even though he went for his best friend's crush), he was the one who made the first move on her and actually dated Jojo. They had cute romantic moments especially when they would smile at each other and say that they liked each other. On the other hand, there is Hye Young who is the nicest sweet guy who understands and protects the people he loves but,he watches Jojo from afar and denys his feelings for her. He eventually confesses near the end where Sun Ho has a girlfriend. But then again it is hard to choose between the two guys as they are unique in different ways. I was a bit confused after the accident because there was multiple flashbacks and i had to figure it out myself in what Jojo had done and why she activated the shield... I was wondering if the developer in the last episode is actually Duk Gu as he jumped out of his window near the end... Waiting for the next season as it ended on the cliffhanger... I wonder who she would pick...Was this review helpful to you?

I actually watched this drama two times, and it really gave me more perspective on it. The first time around, I was a diehard Sun Oh x Jojo watcher. The second time, I became a Hyeyeong x Jojo watcher. I realized how frustrating the whole situation is and how unfair Jojo was to both guys. Her unwillingness to open up and bad decisions led to the unfortunate outcome of their relationship. I understand that she had gone through some tough stuff, but that should mean she should allow herself to lean on someone who actually cared about her. Also, I loved Sun Oh's and Hyeyeong's bromance, but Sun Oh actually made terrible decisions himself. He broke the bro code and got mad at Hyeyeong for going after Jojo at the end. But the best part of this drama had nothing to do with the leads, but more about the side stories. How unfair it is to not be able to control your feelings or dial it down. How it must feel to have the person you like tell you to stop liking them. How it must be to never have someone ring your love alarm. This show dives deeper into this concept and shows how the idea of a love alarm affects the rest of society. Overall, this is a meaningful watch if you can get past how much the leads will frustrate you (except Hyeyeong deserves everything). Was this review helpful to you?

Although this was based on a webtoon, I get that the point is to keep it really similar. Everything was ok until the point where she broke up with the main guy. I don't get why kdramas keep doing this cr*p. She said that she did not want to hurt him more. there was no reason whatsoever for her to stop dating him, yet she dumped him very harshly and hurt him for months to come.. I dont get it ? usually there is an evil mother in law thats opposing the relationship. Something .. Anything .. even the part about him going back to the US did not make sense. I have watched countless Kdramas doing this and the moment they do it I just want to throw my laptop out of the window. The 2nd guy deserved better. main dude knew that he liked her then he kissed her the minute he saw her to prove what. He never held back even though he knew how his best friend felt. Then he dares to get upset about him when he finally decides to let jojo know about his feelings ? Although jojo did not reseprocate, still I think what the main guy did was really mean. Music is okay. Kim so hyun's acting is good as usual but the main guy was kind of meh, they casted him because of his good looks most likely. hopefully he gets better in future dramas. The app developer dude with the bowl cut kept mentioning how he likes that mean girl because of how pretty she is .. . that was pretty annoying. I tried to feel bad for him but really couldnt because all what he seemed to care about is her looks. His suicide attempt though was pretty sad. Refreshing idea ,, not sure I will watch the 2nd season. Maybe I will skim it. (HARSH REVIEW) Maybe, but this is what happens when you watch 100s of dramas lmao. Was this review helpful to you?
I like that these are done in 8's so to add to the mystic of what your next set will consist of. GOT had me on my seat until the last grouping, then I hated the ending. So make whatever you do matter.
You have a great ability to really put your audience in another realm of reality, so throw in things to really make them think. Just like the one episode, where I felt my heart break for their actions.
