I really loved this! It's been a while since I enjoyed a kdrama like this!!

I didn't expect to like it this much! I thought I'd be bored in the beginning but I really laughed so much and I loved the comedy. I liked how dreams are portrayed here, real life of adulthood, friendships, relationships, problems and the character development of the characters! The slowburn is just right too. I might go back on watching this if I really want to watch another comfort show of mine. FL's acting was so good here, all of them actually. I was expecting a wedding though😭 Too bad we didn't get it...

Sorry when it ended

10/10 is my rating. This South Korean tv drama aired in 2017 and spanned 16 episodes (45 minutes/episode).

Life and love happen to long time friends Ko Dong-man (Park Seo-joon) and Choi Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won). Dong-man is a formerly famous martial arts fighter who fell from fame Choi Ae-ra works in a department store but dreams of much bigger things.

Spoiler 🚨 The descriptions and ratings do not do this show justice. It is one of my favorites and I will definitely be watching it again and recommending it to everyone who will listen. I can't think of anything that I would change. It reminded me a bit of "Rocky Balboa" but just a bit. It was it's own special and very unique story. If you are an Asian Drama Fan and like great story lines, sizzling chemistry, friendship and character growth - you don't want to miss this one. These two actors now top my list and I will be looking for other things they are in.

Very refreshing

I found this drama really refreshing. There are no cliche chaebols fighting for power over a company (which is the most boring plot ever!), no evil future mothers-in-law, no supernatural powers. Just pure joy of watching (more or less) ordinary, down-to-earth people "fighting for their way". The acting is good, the plot is interesting but not too complicated to follow from episode 1, the dialogues keep your attention, there are only a few prolonged scenes of someone crying ;-) I lamost didn't use the fast forward button, which I usually do while watching dramas. I highly recommend this drama to viewers who are bored with chaebol stories, robot love stories, supernatural powers stories, and other totally unrealistic plot devices.

chaotic cute couple with dreams

I enjoyed the K-drama so much. Every episode was entertaining and sweet.

I think it's so sweet that dongman was Always there for ae-ra and hugged her when she cried. I also got butterflies in my stomach when they cuddled, kissed, or were generally cute. I think the chemistry between the two is sooo good. I can only say positive things about both of them.

I have mixed opinions about the second couple. Whether Jooman cheated on her or not is a matter of opinion. But he should have told Seoulhee right away that the girl kissed him and he should have cleared things up immediately, rejected her and blocked her. It has been seen several times that he saw his girlfriend in her when she was helpless. I understand that he might not have wanted to hurt her, and you could tell he really loved Seoulhee, but still it's not okay. There were moments when they were really sweet, but she didn't deserve him.

about the story itself: At first it's more of a friends-to-lovers story, but towards the end it gets a bit deeper. Dongmann must choose between his dream and aera, ae-ra finds out what happened to her mother, etc.I can understand Aera's fear that he would get hurt again, but I think it's good that he chose both, or rather, ultimately chose her more. And the drama is supposed to be based on a true story, which of course makes it even better.

A good enough drama with twists that even happen till the last episode. The love story was strong, with the friendship overpowering the romance though, which isn't necessary a bad thing. The friendship dynamics actually were pretty good, as well as the chemistry between the actors and the couples. The side story was interesting as well. The martial arts theme was entertaining, moreover. The action scenes were presented really well and looked original and real life and not badly made, so that gave the drama a boost. The past mysteries, in addition, were interesting, but not that thrilling, as they were kind of odd and even if they weren't added, the story would have been the same. Finally, the performances were good as well.

Will Be A Forever Favorite

Honestly one of my favorite stories because of its realism, it doesn't make the main female lead who struggles financially wear outrageously expensive clothes. It also portrays struggles from multiple characters, like poverty, fear of commitment, and more. It also has wonderful character development with characters like Baek Seol Hee and Kim Joo Man. The acting was my favorite as well, because it portrayed the characters they were playing wonderfully. The OST had to be my favorite, in some romantic comedies during this era used odd sound effects or overplayed the OST but here it sounded great and balanced.

Favorite Characters: Choi Ae Ra, Ko Dong Man

For someone that doesn't really like "friends to lovers", I was quite sceptical about watching this at first but something about the acting, the story and just that overall vibe of 2010s kdramas really made me hooked. I'm pretty sure I binged most of the drama in one go (exams came up in the middle) and the ending was amazing as well.
I don't normally watch too many "old" dramas like this one so maybe it's just something relatively new to me but I really liked the fact that all of the characters feel like regular people just getting through life and I understand that's the whole premise of the show but I think they really hit the nail on the head with this one. Lots of dramas nowadays have at least one main character that's super rich, lives in a huge mansion or really expensive penthouse apartment but seeing all the characters in 'Fight For My Way' living in normal-looking apartments felt quite fresh to me.
The acting felt really raw as well to me, in the emotional scenes, it really did feel like Kim Ji Won and Park Seo Jun were friends for 20 years and just talking about their own feelings.
Normally I really like the second couples, just as much as the main couple or sometimes even more, but these ones were fine, I like that the girl was able to become more independent but I don't know, something about their resolution didn't feel complete. To me however, that part was so insignificant that this drama is close to perfect for me.

I loved it, all of you should watch it as well! :)

I honestly loved this drama to pieces. I almost didn't want to watch it, but decided to just give it a go in between other, more emotionally demanding dramas. I think that the main advantage of this drama are the dialogues and the dynamic between the main characters. It's just pure joy to watch. The other great advantage of this show is a clever usage of music. It had me laugh out loud many times. That being said, I was not as engrossed in the lives of the office couple as I was in the story of the two friends. I really liked the fact that I was able to relate to many of the issues in this drama. The characters are just regular people who have dreams or are just trying to survive. It's also an interesting analysis of the Korean society in which we see that having a certain position makes you immediately more attractive and seemingly raises your value as a person. I went through similar issues myself. Things like friendship, confusion, awakening feelings, moral dilemmas, struggles of finding employment and climbing the corporate ladder.. are a part of life. I loved how real the problems in the story were at the beginning of the drama. It gets a little more fairy-tale like towards the end and we also have an unexpected turn during the last couple of episodes, but nonetheless the show is just really enjoyable to watch. I actually watched it twice already even though I don't re-watch dramas too often. In many ways it reminded me of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and the Sassy Go Go, but it seemed to be a more adult version of those shows. If you liked WFKBJ, I think you will enjoy this drama as well.

Do not hesitate to watch

I was pushing away this drama for years thinking it is nothing I would like. It sounded so boring to watch ordinary people who struggle in life and moved from friends to lovers….blah..
I am so glad I gave it a try, finally, and currently is in my top 10 SK dramas!
It is still a story about an ordinary people, but it conveys so many messages and fill your chest with inspiration and courage!
Yes, they all struggle, but for a first time it didn’t seemed suffocating to watch how poor and unsuccessful they are (at the beginning). They all were constantly growing and developing through the entire series.
What else? Awesome comedy, Nice story, Villain who is believable, Friendship, some drama and so much more!

A heartwarming, down to earth masterpiece

I recently rewatched this drama for the second time and it was still as great as it was the first time. The drama is extremely human and takes you on an adventure with 4 childhood friends as they navigate through their late 20's to find their dreams and love along the way. I can confidently say that there is not one thing I can knit pick on this drama and I give it all my stars.

To sum up my thoughts on this drama: "THIS SH*T'S HILARIOUS" and "I feel that, to my core" are some words that come to mind and I would recommend this to anyone whose looking for a relatable funny drama, I can guarantee this drama will fill the shoes perfectly.

Sidenote: The amount of memes that came out of this drama alone is off the charts and that just tells you how great it is.
