No Regret

후회하지 않아 ‧ Movie ‧ 2006
NR is about a man who sells himself to be able to survive, whereas in TCMDOC he agrees to kiss his schoolmate to save him from ratting him out to his wife about his unfaithfulness. Both male leads are reluctant to fall in love with the second male lead. Both face obstacles. Both have open (happy) endings. I enjoyed both films and I definitely would recommend both!

Both films are BL and feature one guy who really loves another but who leaves him in order to pursue a 'normal' life with a woman.

Although the overall premises of the two don’t really match, other than the enemies to lovers trope, they both feel to me like they’re a part of South Korean BLs that you just don’t see anymore. They broke expectations and brought about light in the dark. I miss the South Korea BLs that took risks and chances and I hope they will find their way back from whatever this short-form nonsense they seem to have become in recent days. If only….

Similarities-
- Good cinematography. Shot artistically and a bit bleakly
- Related to a popular male escort who is emotionally aloof but deeply lonely
- Have a male admirer who wishes to be close to them that the ML initially rejects
- Both have situations where a male lover is protective and even violent in order to protect the ML
-Slight violence in both related to the prostitution industry
-Great acting

Differences-
- Very different story.
- No Regret is more narratively plot-driven. Moneyboys is much more of a character study.
- No Regret has a happy ending; albeit a bit unconventional and a bit polarizing to some viewers.
-There are fewer explicit scenes in No Regret, but the very few that are evident are a bit more graphic.

Japanese Latin dance champion Suzuki Shinya and Japanese standard dance champion Sugiki Shinya are both famous dancers. Although they are in different fields, their names differ by only one letter. Suzuki, who hates to lose, is irritated by being compared to the other dancer. One day, Sugiki suddenly invites Suzuki to "aim to be champion together in 10 Dances." 10 Dances is a competitive dance where dancers who have mastered both Latin and standard dance compete in a total of 10 dances. Suzuki initially refuses Sugiki's proposal to teach each other and aim for the top because it seems too reckless. However, he is overwhelmed by Sugiki's provocative and competitive attitude and accepts in anger. The two are polar opposites in terms of personality and everything and they clash, but as they take lessons every day, they work hard together and gradually close the gap. Then, Suzuki gradually realizes that he is starting to be attracted to Sugiki.
