Don't watch at night time if you get scared easily

●PLOT VIEW
Why did I even choose this movie to watch at midnight, It scared me to hell but then it was still the first half, while the second half is the explanation of the first half which was fine. It had all the substance of a thriller movie, creepy setting, murder mystery, sci-fi backdrop with a chilling story.

The plot was developed beautifully, I tried making guesses but was not able to predict, Firstly it seemed like a horror genre, then suggest as a murder mystery and then a thriller.it plays with your mind and keeps you on edge until the end. I paused at the point and tried to question what is really happening and who is the elder brother actually, Quite frightening for me. Anyone if finds herself/himself in that situation would probably feel the same. The ending is gloomy, two apparently good guys are eroded in their own created doom.

●ACTING/CAST
All the actors did an exceptional job creating this incredible piece. Kang Ha Neul definitely deserves praise for top notch performance. His emotions, expression was to the point and I actually got swept away with his acting.

●APPRECIATION
The writer-directors did an amazing job with the shift of genre and manipulating the audience delving into a deep dark story.

●REWATCH
This movie deserves a rewatch, but I would not be able to do that because of its excessive and horror moments.

●RECOMMENDATION
This is a movie if for people who want an excellent thriller movie where they had to keep guessing that what's gonna happen. The film had lots of curse words so it should be watched under parental guidance if below 16 and many of the scenes are also violent.

Well written but very dark

This movie is a bit of a roller coaster that keeps you guessing until the very end. You think you know but you probably don't. You may get an idea but the detsils and the why really don't all come together until the end. It is definately worth your time to watch IF you like DARK mysteries. It is a bit soul wrenching so beware.

The acting is amazing and the story is put together well. It can get a bit confusing if you don't pay total attention to it. So be prepared to focus. It is not for doing something else while watching.

The re-watch value on this depends on how well you dont remember it. This was my 2nd time watching it. My first view was over a year ago so my brain was like I dont really remember this except for the fact that I remember it was really good.

Just one word: MASTERPIECE

This movie has to be one of the best,if not the best, mystery/psychologiac thriller in the history of movies, ALL MOVIES not only the Kdramas. There is too much to be told about this movie. At the start, I just thought that they had done something with his brother's brain, maybe someone took control of his body? maybe someone hypnotized him in doing this? But oh God it never came to mind how the whole thing was gonna end. The plot twists were unthinkable, I would never think of such a thing, the director has to be some kind of genius. And did I mention the actors' acting? God it was PERFECT! My boy Kang Ha Neul did such an amazing job ♡. The music? The way it made the suspense scenes even more suspenc-y; and scary was just amazing.

Truth to be told, I actually watched this movie bc of Kang Ha Neul (I love him sm) but I'm so glad I did. And Kim Mu Yeol, hello? His acting is perfect, I need more of him, please. ( Kang Ha Neul too, GIVE MY BOY MORE MAIN ROLES!!!)

Don't just put it in your watchlist to watch another time. Stop looking for more series/movies in this platform. Go watch it NOW! 1hr and 48mins is one and a half episode of a drama series, it won't hurt to go watch it now...
or...
maybe it will hurt in the end..?

Amazing Movie

I have watched so many movies and tv shows (I mean American and Korean) and to be honest out of all of the shows I’ve watched I would say Forgotten is the best piece of entertainment I’ve watched. For me it tops all kdramas I’ve watched. So beautiful.
Why I liked it:
It was executed amazingly. It had me questioning myself. I remember at one point I thought I had missed a piece of information because I’d gotten confused but it’s just part of what makes the movie amazing. You really don’t know what will happen. I won’t lie I did predict out some of the things that were gonna happen but that’s doesn’t mean it didn’t have the shock factor. Building up all that confusion and then just revealing everything close to the end was just *chefs kiss*. Acting was amazing, cinematography was great and production was 👍🏾

Why I disliked it:
I don’t have much to say on dislike to be honest. It’s just one of those movies for me where there isn’t really anything I can dislike. At first I did question the ending.
SPOILER:
I’m not necessarily one for having main characters die or anything but to be honest in some shows that’s probably the direction that makes the most sense. I mean they basically had no family, had done terrible things and probably really depressed. Just the fact that the guy whose family died had been investigating for all those years only to k*ll himself in the end.

I normally watch Romance and some thriller but Forgotten has just made me want to delve deeper into thriller kmovies like Forgotten.
Overall:
I would definitely recommend. 10/10. Even if you don’t really watch thriller that much I would watch anyways. Because majority of my watch history is romance dramas but a thriller movie is my favourite out of everything I’ve watched including kdramas, so 🤷🏾‍♀️

Unrealistic review?

According to my personal taste. As you see this movie got a solid 10 from me and I know it seems I did that lightheartedly, but I did not. From beginning to the end, it doesn't fail to hold the interest of the viewer. Soon we realise that something is wrong and we learn everything in due time. It's going to jump-scare you, shock you, keep you on the edge of your seat and even move you to tears. The acting was great, the music was beautiful and I've watched three times, enjoying it every single time. This is one of my most favourite movies ever.

nerve wracking and mind blowing

Rating: 4.6/5 stars

Forgotten is a cinematic masterpiece that takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Its plot is so rich and intricate that it could easily be the foundation for a gripping drama series. The numerous plot twists are unexpected and mind-blowing, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the film.

The narrative is psychologically satisfying, with hints of suspicion subtly planted throughout the movie, such as the protagonist's pill-taking habit. The pacing is well executed, starting steady, and then fluctuating, mirroring the emotional turmoil of the characters. The climax, where both main characters meet their end, is a poignant reflection of their shared pain and trauma.

The film's aesthetics are noteworthy, particularly the use of lighting to distinguish between reality and memories. The colorful, vibrant lighting of the memories contrasts sharply with the dark, grim reality, enhancing the impact of the plot.

Forgotten isn't just a thrilling suspense movie; it also delves into serious themes such as crimes committed out of desperation and unsolved cold cases. It's a movie that turns its viewers into detectives, encouraging them to piece together the clues and unravel the mystery.

The acting in this film is commendable. The cast delivers high emotion scenes with intensity and brings subtlety to the quieter moments. Their performances contribute significantly to the overall impact of the film.

This movie is a must-watch for fans of dark-themed movies and psychologically twisted films. It's a thrilling, suspenseful, and horrifying journey that hooks you from start to finish. Forgotten truly deserves all the praise it receives. It's a film that leaves a lasting impression and earns a well-deserved rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars from me.

TWISTY, SEMI-DARK - unfolds in a very mysterious way

Moments of eeriness, goriness and tension are brilliantly scored and backed by. Performances do stand out here by Kang Ha-Neul and especially Kim Mu-yeol, who takes the most amazing piece of the cake.

Forgotten is that film that won’t be easily forgotten and even after the credits roll down, it will stay with you. It has its emotional share and mysterious thrilling part, combined well to land a good thriller on its proper runway. A good mysterious thriller with a pinch of emotional moments to fill your visual kitty.

VERDICT _ The mystery reveals that are enough to hook you around. Yes, the latter half or the third act of the film dips but still provides a fair share of curiosity and the answers to inquisitive questions built in the first half.To conclude, this is a film which succeeds in striking a near-perfect balance between both revelation and suspense.

WOW

When you think you understood, you actually didn't, this is what i simply love in this movie. Is full of mystery and i can tell i got scared and screamed LOL, it's really overwhelming!!

But it got pretty sad at the end, when you think at least someone is gonna be okay in the end, they died...i got pretty sad about this but i low key like it, because i felt that it represented how the real life can be

I could feel the shame, the sadness, the falsity, the anger, the guilty, everything.

Don't Think... go watch now!

Oh my.. what a thriller cum suspense movie. One of the best K-movie of this genre I must say.

You will keep on guessing what might be the catch but till the very end you won't know.
So take my opinion over this, don't force yourself to pick up on any clues.. you won't get any.. in this process you will ruin the mood that the movie is going to set.
Just watch with a blank mind and enjoy this masterpiece.
Trust me.. i somehow resent myself for ruining it by thinking about the possible suspense in every 5 mins.

The acting the plot is mind boggling and will leave you amazed at its twist and turns.

The first 15 mins may seem like a horror genre and m not gonna lie.. there's a jumpscare as well to make you believe it to be one. But actually it's a thriller suspense movie so don't quit just because it scared you in the beginning! :D

Must watch movie!

I was bored one Sunday night and was surprised to find that Netflix was taking an interest in Korean movies, so without even reading the synopsis I clicked on the movie and the next thing I knew I had shifted from the couch to a few inches from the screen. At the beginning the movie seems like a laid back film that you would watch before bed on a Sunday night.
I will tell you it is not.
It is a thriller that keeps you guessing and when you think you have it all figured out, the writer skips into your living room, gives you a slap in the face and skips away. The actors brought the movie to life they were so well placed and so good at their roles that you will find yourself looking for and binge watching the other movies that they starred in.
The movie will make you feel sorry for the characters and the ending will break your heart but then just like me you will have the urge to re watch this movie a second and a third time. And I did within the span of two days and yes I will re watch it again.
I want to give both Jin Seok and Yoo Seok the biggest hug, but more so Jin Seok.

This movie was quite simply one of the biggest mindf**ks I've ever witnessed.

I couldn't think of anything bad with this one. It's true. perfect from start to end. It's a dark end but it's perfect.

Two brothers start living in a new house, in a completely new neighborhood with their parents and the movie begins with the young brother Jin Seok played by Kang Ha neul, talking about their family, especially his hyung Yoo Seok (played by Kim Mu-yeol) who happens to be the kind of person who never smokes, never drinks, and is all around intelligent, kind, and friendly despite getting into a serious accident and gaining a limp in his leg.

We see how truly enamored Jin Seok is with his family and most of all his hyung who he treats like a god. We also see that Jin Seok not only suffers from terrible nightmares but also takes anxiety medication. It is unclear why he needs it, that part is not explained.

There's a room in their new home which the previous owner had instructed them not to use so the brothers have to sleep in the same room. When Jin Seok questions his father about the room his father explains that the owner left clear instructions: never to go inside that room or touch anything in it.

That night, Jin Seok hears noises coming from the room but no one else in the house seems to hear anything so Jin Seok attributes it to the thunderstorm.

But the room and strange occurances still continue to haunt Jin Seok.

When Yoo Seok sees his brother is still feeling a bit anxious, he takes him outside in the rain for fresh air hoping it would make him feel better. The brothers both take in their new surroundings. It's obvious how much they love each other. How protective they are of each other, enjoying junk food together and constantly teasing. They don't even mind sharing the room so much.

When his hyung gets a call from his father, on his phone to bring him a document that he needs to study, Yoo Seok tells his younger brother to wait for him and he will be right back.

But before Yoo Seok has even returned to his house, some men beat him up and push him inside a black van while Jin Seok tries madly to go after them and manages to memorize the license plate number of the van before he collapses.

When he wakes up, there's no news of his brother still, no one can find him. They wait and wait for the kidnappers to call and demand ransom but nothing happens for ten days.

On the tenth day, Yoo Seok walks inside his home, looking unharmed but he can't seem to remember anything about what went on during those ten days. Everyone assumes it's some kind of amnesia brought about by whatever might have happened while he was gone .

The family is happy to have the son back, they start getting back into their daily routine.

But the more Jin Seok hangs around his hyung, the more he realizes his brother is acting strange. Almost like a different person. At first, Jin Seok shrugs it off as his imagination but things start to get stranger still and many times he wakes up in the middle of the night to find Yoo Seok gone and nowhere to be found.

When he confronts Yoo Seok, Yoo Seok denies it completely and Jin Seok believes him.

Until one night, he follows Yoo Seok.

Honestly, Haneul is the perfect casting for this role because he has this innate innocence that this character carries and his acting from start to finish was just amazing. Best mind games movie I've seen in a very long time.
