Kimi wa Petto is the Japanese drama that the film is based upon. It is ALMOST the same storyline but with much more detail and a little more heart.
Both has similar story about younger man and older woman. Kimi wa Petto has more comedy though. Sapuri is more realistic. Both are really good dramas and both has main male lead from Johnny's.
Kinda has similar ring to it.... Same female lead and intruding plot. Older woman & young man relation
It seems most Johnny's rite of passage ~ older woman younger man drama - this time with Jun Matsumoto :)
Similar vibes, younger guy a bit lost in life falls for a competent working woman that helps him find his way, while he also comforts her, also in both there’s a bit of a love triangle with a coworker that seems to be a socially more “acceptable” person for the FL + young Johnny’s ikemen haha
just like kimi wa petto it has the older woman-younger guy relationship as a significant part of its plot, though there are other sub plots thrown in...
Both are about a older woman established in her career finding a much younger man with little prospects. In both the women take the relationship for granted and ultimately find out that no matter what others say, they will be with these younger guys in their own way
older woman, younger man pairing. main female leads are similar in that they're both good at everything but this.
They both involve "forbidden"/"frowned-upon" relationships.
And Matsumoto Jun does a GREAT job in both dramas!! I highly recommend if you're a MatsuJun fan!
