i liked it!!

i have never seen such gaming dramas.
i was aout to drop it but as i went on watching and as i started understanding abt i was hooked.
ye xiu(yang yang) was really a master in it. he was really very clever and had a very good knowledge of situations in the game and outside the game.
the caste was amazing.i liked every character and the friendship it was showed in it.
i just wanted to have a romantic angle in it atleaast in the end. because there were 3 girls and i wanted to know that who is the one which suits the ML but its still fine as it showed a proffession.
now as at the end i understood every part of the game i want to see a season 2 to get a good and better ending.

Glorious

I don't know what to say. This drama has me shook. I actually have like no words. Everything was amazing, the acting to the story to the OST. Ahhhh I love E-Sports dramas so much. It's so cool to watch people play games and make it their life and passion.

Story :
The story was good, definitely different but it's not very of a big shock. The main character Ye Xiu being apart of the most popular E-sports team but gets kicked, then starts a new journey to becoming the best with new people and a new team was amazing. I love how they used rookies as team members to show that hard work pays off and that rookies can play just as well. I love how the producers made the main lead strong but also has a weakness. The touching moments between Ye Xiu and Su Mucheng was also really sweet. Overall the story was well written.

CGI:
The CGI was mediocre. Defenitly not the best but it was ok. It had moments where it would take us into the game as the POV of the player but the animation wasn't as smooth as other shows, maybe because my first E-sports C-drama was falling into your smile which had much better graphics and CGI but this show was still great overall.

Music :
The music was amazing! I love the OST and the song they played for the powerful moments. I love when dramas have good songs and backtracks because it makes watching the show so much more satisfying and comfortable to watch.

Acting:
The acting was really good by the cast. YangYang's acting never cease to fail me. It is just so good. He played his role very well. I also love all the other actors acting. They did very good. A lot of actors I haven't seen or heard of, but they definitely proved they are good actors and played their role really well. What made this drama lose 0.5 points was no romance. There was a lot of bromance which was good but I wanted a bit of romance(I'm a sucker for romance) I really liked the chemistry between Su Mucheng and Ye Xiu, I wish they had something but I guess Ye Xiu only considered her as a little sister because she was the little sister of his bestfriend before he passed away. Overall the acting was really good, each team member had their moments to shine.

Ending:
The ending was great. It was the perfect ending. The plot twist at the end goes crazy. I actually did not expect it. I loved the ending it was very sweet, the way the team works so well with each other and works together to achieve the same goal. Different ages, different roles, different backgrounds all recruited to play on one team, to work together towards glory. Absolute masterpiece!!!

Amazing drama!! Definitely watch if you want something fun, energetic, exciting and different. <3

Yang Yang as e-sports gaming idol

Perfect e-sports drama conveying the feeling of playing with a new e-sports gaming team starting from almost scratch.
Yang Yang playing veteran gamer Ye Xiu and his team, friends and foes are excellent. Friendship and dedication, dishonest competitors who try every underhanded ploy to destruct the sapling guild XingXin, and upright opponents that stay frends outside the game, but no romance, no kissing.
This adaptation makes me want to perhaps also read the webnovel it is based upon. (There is a donghua about the story too, but I have not checked it out yet).
Production includes excellent game animation which illustrate the Glory gamers' view that "Glory is their world", even if staying with it could be short-lived.
The music is addictive, although the OST only has four songs.
Worth rewarching.

fast-paced and energetic pop-culture series

the series is suitable for younger audiences from about 10 years old to 30+ years old age group familiar with anime, manga, online games, pop culture, and activities involving sports-like teamwork. this series revolves around the struggles, efforts, friendships, and reconciliation of the past and present of the main protagonist whose career path spans 10+ years as a professional esports player. one key thing about this series is the focus on the present moment, reconciliating the past with the present, and how that affects the near future that will become a present moment.

this series also tell the stories of struggles, efforts, and friendships of many other supporting players mainly in relation with the main protagonist. the series blends life acting with CGIs, and it consistently enriches the CGI stories with fast paced dialogues that are generally written well, and also energetic comments by the commentators/players/audience. it has a relatively fast paced stories and plots that deal a lot with personal decisions, social support/motivation/encouragement, overcoming obstacles, trusts, jealousy/envy, camaraderie, and hope and faith.

i was initially hesitant whether i want to start watching this series because i had the mindset that i might be sorely disappointed if the series fail to deliver a balanced good stories, good performances and balanced CGIs. but in the end, i am glad that i overcome my hesitance. another mindset that i had when i started watching this series is that there might be a romantic and romance competition/betrayal kind of plots in the series. but there were not. and that is a real welcome for a CDrama.

i think the director, the screen writer/s and the CGI team/s did a dedicatedly excellent job trying to balance the real life acting with the dialogues and the CGI actions. the CGIs felt complimentary to the real life acting. the quality of the CGIs is good, and the way the dialogues and how/where the CGIs are used to tell stories in the virtual setting are also good. this is also in part enhanced by the energetic and fitting background music/sound/noises. one of the strengths in this series is the arrangement/selection/editing of the background music/sound/noises.

the costumes/hair-style in this series are inspired in part by manga and in part by modern and pop culture. the props, set design/structure, and environment are definitely urban and current. it is a good thing that the series as a whole does not attempt to introduce futuristic mumbo-jumbos.

another thing i really like about this series is that the producer/director/screenwriters do not attempt to make this series about good versus evil, or about nasty characters. they do the characters as human and as humane as possible -- with shortcomings and strengths, but most importantly with the capacity and ability to overcome shortcomings and become a better person.

criticisms:
the actors acting are not all excellent and consistent. many of the supporting actors acting are mediocre and unconvincing. a few of the supporting characters can be annoying and unconvincing at times. sometimes there are scenes when the set or the ways the set are captured can feel a bit bland and off. i feel that some characters could have been given even stronger/better plots, dialogues and character developments, for example, Su Mucheng, Guo Guo, Luo Ji. somewhere in this series, internet addiction is mentioned very briefly. i think this is a real concerning issue that is intentionally ignored or not focused on by the director/editors/screenwriters.

Love it

The story is awesome, the acting is awesome, the music is awesome. I watched this series some years ago, but only found this site not so long ago, so recording all my watched series.

I actually came to watch this because I really love Yang Yang's acting. The show is quite awesome - in my opinion - and the storyline is cool. Although the total episodes is abit long, but the action is there. This is one of the really few series I have watched without any romance element inside it except a world of gaming and competitiveness. The entire cast did a great job bringing this series to life. I would say Yang Yang is even more interesting in this series, especially when I only found out later that he plays twins.

The OST for this series is fantastic! I love every single song in this series. I would say it was paired beautifully.

This drama is not just good, it’s great. It’s worth watching over and over.

Okay, let me be honest. At first, I was so hesitant to watch this. But then... Yang Yang. The guy is just too good to miss, so yeah, I gave it a shot.

And wow. Just wow. From the first few episodes, I was hooked. The characters? Amazing. The storyline? Super engaging. The whole gaming world they built? Insane. The visuals were so detailed, and the way they explained eSports and all the moves? Super detailed too. Like, they didn’t just slap eSports in there as a background—they actually went deep into it. I learned so much while watching, and it never felt boring.

One thing I loved is there’s no romance here. Zero. And I’m totally fine with that because the whole focus on teamwork and everyone working toward their dreams? So refreshing. Team Xing Xin’s journey to the top is just pure inspiration.

Now, let’s talk about Ye Xiu. This guy is the heart of the show. He’s funny, laid-back, and just so good at what he does. Even though he’s a total pro, he’s humble and always willing to teach the newbies. And his in-game character, Jun Mo Xiao (aka Lord Grim)? Iconic. I mean, who else could make an umbrella look that cool?

Another character I love is Mofan. He doesn’t talk much, but he’s observant and cares in his own way. And his in-game character, Deception? A ninja. Enough said. His moves are so quick, I had to replay some scenes just to catch everything.

Last but not least, Xiao Shi Qin. The most professional and wise character out there. His in-game character, Life Extinguisher, is the definition of class. Every time he shows up, the show just feels next level.

Honestly, this drama is not just good, it’s great. It’s worth watching over and over. There are so many life lessons here. If you fail, it’s fine, start over. Keep going. Train harder than anyone else, and you’ll get there.

So yeah, it’s worth every second. 10/10 would recommend.

Glory is the way to live

This was a wonderful drama. I usually avoid watching Chinese dramas but this had an interesting synopsis so I caved…. And I couldn’t be happier. This was definitely not a waste of time and honestly thought the series is so long at no point did I feel compelled to watch simply because I had started watching.

The plot lines and character development is tip top. My one critique is that Ye Xiu was a bit of a Gary Stu, a little too perfect, and we never really in the first 30 episodes see him doubtful or have any negative emotions- but what was unexpected about it was even so, Yang Yang as Ye Xiu was probably my favourite character. I loved him on screen.
Tang Rou was a nicely developed character, as was Wei Chen. Personally disliked An Wengyi’s character plot line, but I adored the show.

I wonder how much the show spent on visual effects, because they were marvellously good somehow, it was easy to tell the difference between all the player’s avatars, not just by their clothes, but even the facial features resembled the actor counterparts.

Sun Xiang, the primary ‘antagonist’ was a little over dramatic in the start, but I loved how he developed as well.

Some people may find the drama cheesy, but I loved it and am looking for more of the same.
I did like the ending, and honestly could watch more of this show, for at least another season.

As a gamer, I found this show really enjoyable as it shows what being a gamer is really like. It shows viewers the idea that when in-game it's like a whole new world and community which is what I like most about it. Furthermore, shows about esports are rare to find and this has done a great portrayal of it. I highly recommend this show as the acting, cinematography, and plot were done amazingly.

So please do check it out if you are a gamer! Watch till episode 2 at least because it only gets truly interesting starting from episode 2.

WATCH THE ANIMATION

My review will be the shortest i've ever written, as i dropped this drama and still don't understand how it could get such a good rating. I started this title because of all the hype around it. It disappointed me in everything; Characters are all exaggerated, sense of humour that isn't funny, lack of acting .... etc, etc.
The ratings on MDL aren't fair and most of them are probably for Yang Yang only. The title got hyped because of the novel/animation and Yang Yang. If it was for another actor, i believe ratings will be less biased.
To me this drama isn't worth the hype nor your time. If you want to watch King's avatar story, watch the animation.

If you want to watch a c-drama about gamers and romance, i'd recommend you to watch Falling Into Your Smile - it is another caliber !

Heads down to the most amazing drama

I don't have words to describe this series..My emotions are still raw after watching it for 3rd time on repeat.
This is the best and way underrated series of Mainland China.
Story is nothing spectacular when you watch this drama..it is just related to an esport where a guy's journey is shown from a scratch after achieving the most glorious title of the game. Due to his old friend he has to start from zero again but what a spectacular journey it was.
It is not only a journey for him but all those newbies who chose him to be their leader.
This story is all about compassion, team leadership, empathy, strong mindset, respect towards each other, trust and choices.
Everybody made their choices and they worked hard to achieve the goal for the choice they made.
Not only story tells us about team building, but also it teaches us to respect each and every opponent and instead of using mockery when other looses the game, just make a way so that party who lost the game continue to soar their spirits and become better in next challenge.
This story is all about healthy competition and the challenges we have to face in every corner.

OST was the best. Each and every character whether virtual or real was justified and did a perfect job.

Overall I can rewatch this again and again and I will bever get tired of it. Applauses to all the actors, storywriter, director and other staff who managed to produce such an amazing series.

Not my CUp of tea

I wanted to watch something romantic and remembered how much I loved watching love O2O when I got introduced to a whole new world of dramas and started watching this. though the genre didn't mention romance I expected something mild however that wasn't the case.
Thought dramas are only about romance but didn't expect to encounter something without any romance. I would've considered continuing watching it but can't do it in my current mood.
It has a good theme and all but I personally don't like that gaming stuff. knowing that I won't get what I expected I can't continue it.
so I decided to drop it.
