Hidden Depths - if you are easily triggered, this is not the show for you
If you can get past the shock value of the F&$##d up situation these two find themselves in, you will actually find a surprisingly good story. I had to watch this more than once because the first time I watched it, I was like, “What the hell did I just see?”. But this is one of those stories where it sticks with you and you really think about it after the fact. You have two people who have been damaged, one who doesn’t want to go on living anymore and he is basically shocked back into living again by the other one. The imagery just gave it and added punch to the gut. They are each using the other to deal with their own trauma. I found it to be a very moving storyline.Was this review helpful to you?
I wanted to rate this higher, but…
I was totally invested in this drama. I binge watched it, loved it, loved the acting. Why oh why did the male lead have to fall victim to utter stupidity at the ending episodes? Ugh. Totally ruined it for me, but not enough to knock it too far below 10. Up until the last few episodes it was fantastic. Great production value, great chemistry between the actors. It’s worth a watch at least once, just prepare yourself for the ML to get a terminal case of the stupids. The actors did a great job with the story they were given.Was this review helpful to you?
Best drama ever
I Love love love Goblin. The visuals, the music, the clothes. But the best part is the bromance between Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook. They are hilarious. The comic relief balances the tragedy in the storyline really well. And when the two of them work together, they are like the angels of death. It was all so good. I’ve watched this drama multiple times. Some will say that the age difference between the main lead characters is a little on the creepy side (even though the actors are closer in age) so I suppose that’s the only negative criticism. Don’t let that stop you from watching it!Was this review helpful to you?
Great story, visually captivating
The only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is the slow spots where they used “filler” or silly humor to pad the episodes. When the storyline was moving along it was great. The special effects are very well done and you are highly invested in the characters and their journey to greatness. The storyline has good pacing (with a few exceptions) it is packed with humor, great character development, and a lot of tense and exciting moments. I’ve watched this drama more than once it was so good.Was this review helpful to you?
