Rain or Shine

그냥 사랑하는 사이 ‧ Drama ‧ 2017 - 2018
Both are healing dramas with romance and a tragic past. Like If You Wish Upon Me, Just between lovers deals with loneliness, PTSD and the growth of the main characters and how they learn to move on and accept death. Just Between Lovers has a lots of heartwarming platonic and romantic relationships and there are a lot of heart wrenching scenes too. JBL's male lead is quite similar to If You Wish Upon Me's male lead in how life wasn't good to both of them and how they learn to give and receive affection. Both of the drama has romance but JBL is focused more on romance. But I would say JBL is more slow burning with its story and the romantic plot between the leads. While If You Wish Upon Me focuses more on finding a community of accepting and warm hearted people, Just Between Lovers focuses more on one-on-one relationships :)

?The ending of JBL was not the best and the pacing got weird in the last episodes. But if you want to watch a healing drama where people who weren't treated well by people, society and life in general and has some romance in it, Just Between Lovers might be what you want to watch next?

Both shows have a really gritty, unfiltered depiction of people in poverty, downtrodden by their circumstances and random events that happen in the course of their lives. They also both show the reality of people trying to handle trauma and difficult things that happen in their lives. But both also have genuine moments of connection and commonality with others.

The dramas both have this melodramatic , calming feeling. Both relationships progress in a similar way.

Both are melodramas with similar pacing and moody atmospheres. Also, both are slice-of-life dramas that focus on character relationships over eventful plots.

Both the MLs suffer trauma and are poor where as the FLs would be considered rich and I find that the vibe of both dramas are similar enough except they’re both heart breaking in their own way

The main characters of both dramas have to deal with their own emotional trauma due to a common and painful past. They grow individually and fall in love in the process. In both dramas, the cinematography is beautiful, the storyline is slow-paced but every scene is meaningful and the OST is magical. The main characters in both dramas learn to overcome their pain and build a strong relationship with themselves and others after a traumatic event. IONTBO talks about many types of mental disorders and mental illness in general whereas Just Between Lovers is more specifically about PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) which is one type of mental disorder.

The people recovering a traumatic events.

This depression will have an even more effective daily treatment when he joins the radio crew, even if he was reluctant at first.

The male leads in both dramas are poor and have this “bad boy” vibe.

If you liked the male lead in either of these dramas you will probably like the other too..

If Just Between Lovers hollowed you out gently with its slow, wounded grace, Winter Night will carry you even deeper — into the spaces between words, between people, where sorrow and hope linger long after the snow melts.

I keep quiet stories like these alive — woven into hidden paths on my profile.

Minus the funny scenes which made kill me heal me lighter and dark aura seems bearable. but both dramas focus on the traumas the leads had when they were kids and they are entangled in that past experience.
