Amazing and Impactful drama
I almost gave this a 10 and feel that it probably deserves it but, because I was left wishing they’d included a couple of things in the finale I couldn’t give it a perfect score. I wanted to see the main couple get married, or at least engaged. A proposal should have happened. Also, I wanted to see the memorial they designed and corresponding ceremony to see how the families felt about the result. That work was so critical to the story, it made no sense for us not to be allowed to see it to fruition.Otherwise a deeply moving and beautiful story. Great acting. Awesome OST. And impactful visuals. Will definitely watch again.

Struggling to Find the Point
So I went into this not really knowing what to expect. My main reason for watching was Jun Ho because holy he's gorgeous and I was so hooked from the first episode. The premise and the story felt very remeniscent of The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and I even at points thought the ML looked very similar. Overall the romance was cute and the story was interesting but I just felt like the actual point was lost. There were some really emotional parts and I liked the characters all around but some side characters felt a little pointless? The sister story didn't make much sense to me why it was there, the writer best friend and her hater also didn't really add much to the story and don't get me started on the useless love triangle.
I feel like my reviews always focus on the negatives because most of the time that is what I notice the most after I finish the show but let me list some positives first.
The acting was great and the leads did an amazing job at playing their roles. The story was sweet and sad and I love that combo. I love a good time jump ending where you can see how everyone is moving forward after the story has ended. I also loved the grandma and her side story, although the ending was sad. I probably could list more if I thought about it because I did at the end of the day give it a high rating but let me just highlight some negatives as well so you know whether this will be for you.
I just feel like the story was kind of pointless? We spent a lot of time at the construction site but this seemed like it was more just a way for them to be able to trigger MLs trauma flashbacks. Also, the FL forgetting the time she spent under the rubble was kind of strange to me and then her remembering it again seemed so sudden as well. I already mentioned the love triangle but let me again jsut say that this seemed like it had no other point except to trigger the miscommunication and some jealousy from the ML. It was so unneccasary, we could have literally just had the second ML be a good CEO that's handsome without him needing to be interested in the FL. This would still be a good way to bring in the jealousy without feeling like the love triangle was forced. Then there was the "breakups". I already don't like this in a show and it happened TWICE. Like seriously, the first time I would have understood but it just doesn't do much for me. Then near the end it seemed like it was kind of rushed.
I loved the Smile Has Left Your Eyes and I was hoping this was going to leave me with the same feelings when it was all done but it kind of didn't move me as much as it was trying to.

unbelievable
Calling this drama just a melodrama or a romance would be unfair and nonsense. This is an unbelievably beautiful story, compelling and captivating based on a tragedy, which explores the way to redemption of the survivors, of the guilty ones, and of the people who are part of their lives, and who share with them the pain, the sadness, as well as the will to go further and overcome a loss, a trauma, or both of them.
Through the two leads (who were simply awesome), the story deals with the theme of the collective tragedy experienced by the survivors after a disaster that broke almost 50 lives. As a sort of background throughout the show is the path towards the processing of mourning and loss , which is symbolized by the construction of the memorial that forces the survivors to tell their heartbreaking stories and face the tragedy once again.
The two main leads are the personification of that collective tragedy and while they take care of the construction of the memorial, actually they become the symbols through whom that way to redemption take form, through their story so tragic and at the same time so sweetly romantic.
The plot is written well, constantly credible, and consistent, not giving room to holes and flaws. Some scenes are brutally and cruelly heartbreaking, but it could not be different. Watching them you could feel moved, compelled, involved till even cry your eyes out.
The cast, was top. I liked a lot the women of the story: female characters who show up strong and at the same time sensible. Won Jin Ah / Moon Soo was perfect: I didn't know her so far, and I was well impressed not only by her beauty (stunning: the combo of her eyes and of her smile can kill), but also by her talent, and the ability to render her character without flaws. Kang Han Na / Yoo Jin perfect too: she made her role credible and strong, without falling into the stereotypes, which sometimes impact negatively on a character and on the story itself. Maybe the strongest and at the same time the most fragile woman in this story, for sure a very beautiful character. Na Moon Hee / halmeoni, who impersonated the grandmother of all the derelicts, was simply awesome, literally filling the scenes where she appeared with her presence. Na Moon Hee / Ma Ri deserves being mentioned too, while rendering a not easy character, showing the humanity where not expected, and able to try till the end to redeem on of the shabby villain. And so on... All the actresses did well in performing roles which sometimes were not easy at all. The actors and the men of the story were unmatched too. Lee Jun Ho / Kang Doo among all was sublime, and able to render his character so unlucky and so painful in a perfect way. And I wish to mention Kim Kang Hyun / Sang Man, because he was unmatchable in playing a character like this, making him credible and intense.
Direction and photography were very nice.
The OST is one of the best I found so far: complete and well sorted.
A masterpiece who shall be watched, absolutely.

believe in miracles
I didn’t expect to be this attached to this beautiful kdramaThis kdrama shows us pain, happiness, the feeling of guilt, sadness, the feeling of love. I am writing this and tearing up ,the kdrama makes you to value the things you have so you won’t take everything for granted. The storyline made me cry so much, they show us how miracles actually can happen and they show us not to give up on living no matter how hard life can get , just continue fighting, continue believing in miracles and also continue loving people you care about.
I hope everyone will watch it, i really think this kdrama is so underrated and recommend it to everyone.
The OST is another piece of masterpiece <3. I hope everyone will enjoy it.

The "Bad Boy"
I had only seen Lee Jun Ho as the polished, uptight hotelier in "King the Land" , where he played a very good part. However, in Rain or Shine (Just Between Lovers) he is superb as the "bad boy" , and classic "angry young man".His "Granny" sees through the facade, and she, Na Moon Hee, is my second favourite actor in this programme.
Most of the main characters are complex - dealing with their own trauma from the past - and the actors portray their pain well.
I haven't finished this series, but, so far, it's been an emotional ride - with a little humour to balance out the tragedy.

It lacks something than it will be better if the writers want to convey something more than what it seems.
After all I come to think that's the power of good PD. Elevated the script, and alot of performances and scene really well executed . SO I can see why people rate it high. I give this drama a good rating for those two alone.

i think i'm going to be the very black sheep the story line was looking like "remember me " the movie which i hated too
i don't know from where i should start
but i should say "BIG EXHALE' for finishing this one
i was pushing myself to continue watching just to give a fair review towards this shit
this was a real torture for me with all that repeated flashbacks and events
first time ever for me watching drama on the fast forward button starting from ep. 05
i think this sentence should say a lot about the drama
they should name it "just bleak" OR "just depression"
something like that should be more appropriate for such a drama like this
the drama is very very very very slow, boring, lukewarm, cold with very repetitive events just to fill the story
i didn't feel anything while watching
there wasn't even a fluffy moments for me
i wasn't either excited for the main leads
i liked two other side stories
two characters in this drama made me mad
bulk of selfishness (moon soo's MOTHER) & ( kang doo's SISTER)
both of them were really GREAAAAAAT B***chs
specially the mother she that kind of persons who always blames others
and didn't rest till she made everybody around her being sad and depressed
i didn't say she should forget the dead but she should live for her other alive daughter
she neglected her in a very selfish way as if she is punishing her for living
i really hated her character so much
she is really unbearable and disgusting
and i never saw a ML (bleak's professional) like this one
and the FL WOOOOW what a coward stupid one
and the writer should continue the bleak till the last breath
the relations in this drama was extremely sick and abnormal for me i think they all should go to mental health hospital
and suddenly .... HAPPY ENDING
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
clap here for the failure please
i've never been harsh in my reviews but this one really deserves more than i wrote >_< -_-

Great actors doing a good drama, sadly not for me
Not my kind of drama, I don't like watching shows that intends to make me sad or cry. I like shows that promises if not a happy ending, at least a good one.. No matter how much bruised the main characters are.Reading the synopsis and some reviews, I got interested. But after a short while, it became obvious that this ain't for me.
With that being said, I can still name things that I like. For example, the actors were really good and I think they're casts pretty well. I also like the music, it sets the right tone needed in the scenes.
I cannot binge watch this one, too heavy for me and to be honest it's a bit boring. If and when, I still wanted to watch the whole show..

Have a feeling will rewatch this a few times
Writing the review before I finish watching the entire series because I am liking it so much just now, and am afraid that the ending will somehow spoil it -- and it is definitely worth the time!First of all: The acting by the main leads is phenomenal.
Second: (So far) all of the subplots make sense and fit with the overall story.
Third: It's easy and enjoyable to watch; no cringe worthy scenes or dialogues.
Fourth: The main leads are what one would call "normal" working people. The more I review, the more I discover that the this is important to me -- that the characters not be "the exceptional" or the super rich and famous -- not only is it more relatable if they are "normal", it is also inherently more interesting to me, because it then tends to focus on the actual human interactions more.
In terms of the negatives (so far): Not sure if it's a product placement issue, but the emphasis on women's makeup was a little weird in a few places. And there was the obligatory shirtless scene by the male lead (a lovely view, no doubt, but kind of out of place IMHO).
Still -- I am hoping that the ending continues to be as good because I am already looking forward to rewatching the earlier episodes.

I usually don’t rely on synopses or reviews before diving into a drama. I prefer to watch and judge it for myself. I'm also a pretty patient and understanding viewer, and I gave this a fair shot—watched until episode 7—but the spark between the leads was just never there.
Despite it being a melodrama filled with painful flashbacks and emotional themes, I didn’t feel anything. And that says a lot, because I’m the type of person who cries easily and gets moved by emotional scenes. But with this drama? Nothing. No tears, no emotional connection—just... nothing.
It’s disappointing, because I really wanted to like it.
