Girls' Generation 1979

란제리 소녀시대 ‧ Drama ‧ 2017
Time setting was also before '00.
The drama was about girls friendship, family struggle, and romance.
The FL was Bona (Go Yurim's actress) and she was really awesome in this one too!

Both dramas are set in the past. Both dramas give out the same kind of vibe even though Reply 1988 is set in urban Seoul and Girls Generation 1979 is set in rural Daegu. Both dramas have lovable characters who you will get attached to :)

Takes place near the start of the 80s, romance included, has similar feeling (note that I have watched up to episode 2 so far)
I am in love with vintage feels and styles.

they're both short dramas, that are based around friendships between teenaged girls. there is some jealousy amongst the girls, romance plots, and both female leads are idols as well. the only main difference is that the world of my 17 is based in modern day and it is a lot bubblier than girls' generation 1979.

Sunny and Girls' Generation 1979 are both set around similar time periods and both focus on the difficulties of friendship and love as a teenager. Both movies deal with the topics of unrequited love and overall have similar vibes. The first seen of Girls' Generation 1979 really reminded me of Sunny that's why I recommend it. Either way, just watch it, you won't regret it.

both these dramas have very fleshed out characters who have flaws and their stories are all too real. and the fact that both of them revolve around high schoolers and friendship as well as set in a small town.

In both there is 1970/80s Nostalgia!

Both have
Themes of: Youth, dreams, romance, poverty, hardship

When Life Gives You Tangerines events happen in longer time period (1960s - 2000s), not just end of 70s like in Girls Generation 1979.

slice of life, family, romance, friendship, school.

setting time in the older era, make them give a nostalgic feeling even if we weren't born at that time.

Both these dramas center on spunky and sharp-tongued young girls. We also see their family dynamics and friendships.

One gets a feeling of melancholia while watching these girls going through first love and navigating through their youth during a time that's long gone.

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.

The love stories and the characterization of the female leads on both dramas are similar.

Girls' Generation 1979 is about school, youth, slice of life, and romance.

Set in the same time period, both dramas follows young individuals, their infatuations, love, deceptions and growing up.
