honestly, I don't see cute and lovey dovey relationship between FL and ML. I only see a girl chasing a boy that is very rude to her. He already know her feelings so maybe he thinks he can do whatever he likes to her. What I hate the most is he doesn't even say sorry or looked guilty after being rude and the girl just accept it and forget all about it. The girl is cute and sweet but I hope she can have more dignity or self esteem. How can she still afraid of the boy angry with her even when she doesn't do anything wrong. In fact, the boy should apologize for his rude words. And I really detest anyone who playing with others feeling! I hope after this episode, I can see some progress in their relationship.

By episode 8, I didn't like the progress. The new guy proves to be extremely likeable (absolutely everything a girl could wish in a boyfriend) while the "dream guy", after hearing the main girl's love confession repeatedly, doesn't reciprocate yet keeps her from starting something with the new guy. Also he accepts another female classmate "courting" him. I felt bad for the "new" guy (he actually settles in the group so well as if he was always there).
It proved a mistake to bring the other guy into the mix. Because after 9 episodes, I definitely liked him more than the main guy and even found him more attractive, lol. Then, I wasn't able to further enjoy the main girl's pursuit of the dream guy. I just wanted her to turn back on him and start dating the other guy. Let the dream guy have his lesson (he DID start showing that he was jealous) that he can't play the ice queen for too long, lol. But, no. The main girl still acts like a desperate fangirl with the first boy, and avoids the boy who made sincere confession to her... Or, she thought he made a confession (when she says she doesn't reciprocate, he takes it back). What a letdown. With the rejected guy all trying to pretend he wants to be just friends, I no longer enjoyed her line with either of the boys.
Perhaps we should really focus on the friendship here, as romance proves so annoying... It's been ages since I've seen a good one in dramas, btw. I'm starting to get tired.

Fu*k Li Wei, Save Bosong
The story in overall is good, the character development for jiang chen is good, seeing how he turns from having a cold personality slowly changing becoming a better and milder person, i like chen xiaoxi's determination and dedication (though it's a bit overaggresive seeing that she is a girl), bosong's dedication toward chen xiaoxi and how he tries to make xiaoxi happy, but unfortunately we all know that jiang chen is the main character and without bosong the story would become bland as it would be just another happy go lucky love story that has no room for improvement and character development, lin jingxiao being the best wingwoman in the whole movie is probably one of my favorit part of the movie, and lu yang's funny but pitiful lifestory brings even more colour to the movie, BUT!!! LI WEI, this B**CH and her godda*n friend, we know that a romance story needs a love rival that pisses everyone off but this is overdoing it, the way that she acts, the way that she acts around jiang chen, how she throws her body towards jiang chen purposedly is so damn disgusting (kudos to the wonderful acting though), the way that the author depict the character of li wei as the two faced girl is good but disgusting in some ways, a woman should never act like that, even if she's in love with the man, it's too aggresive and most men would just back-off and the ones that don't are probably bastards, in conclusion i love the story, the acting, the music, and the wonderful relationship between families (especially bosong and his dad), and overall i think it's one of the best drama i've ever watched 10/10 would recommend. Was this review helpful to you?
ML didn't work for me
Things I liked:1 The first episode. I thought it was a cute premise and it would work. I saw potential in it.
Things I disliked:
1 The FL. I didn't dislike her actually, but I didn't like her either so in the end I have no choice than put her in my dislike list. I thought she was cute and at first I thought she would be one of my favorite actresses, but when I finished the series I realized that I didn't like her acting and sometimes I even disliked her character. There were times I couldn't understand her reactions, and that took away from any enjoyment I had at this point.
2 The love triangle. Nothing new on the horizon for me, I dislike them all, but this one irked me particularly. Too much time on the relationship between the SML and the FL.
Things I hated:
1 The ML. First of all I think he's not handsome, so he starts with a strike. But beauty is subjective and as it happens, I fell in love with many actors I don't find handsome. This one didn't make that list. The reason: His wooden acting. And no, I don't think it's how he should play his part. I believe he doesn't know how to convey any emotion. Not only he was never convincing me in any of the emotions he tried to convey but he gave me the impression that he was asleep standing. I swear that watching him made me close my eyes more than once. It was like his acting put me to sleep. Weird, but i swear it's true. The worst is the character he portrayed though. he ruined the series for me. He wasn't romantic or kind or anything. I felt like he was bullying her sometimes.
2 The lack of romance. Maybe others felt romance was just fine, but to me it felt like there was no romance between the main leads. Not once my heart fluttered. On the contrary it felt like he was cold and he didn't really wanted to be in love with her. Like he had no choice and accepted his faith. I'm not convinced she portrayed her love well either, but he did a terrible job, no doubt. Even when he said that he loved her it was like he was reading instruction about how to build a fort. Horrible.

My forever favorite Shen Yue is the reason why I love CDrama
Shen Yue and Hu Yi Tian's undeniable charm and chemistry here created one of the most remarkable and unforgettable couples in drama history. Despite any controversies or issues that may have arisen, I still believe their magic as a duo deserves another chance to shine. Their unique blend of charisma and talent is too captivating to be left behind—I would truly love to see them collaborate in the film ALSB or on another drama to recreate that heartwarming connection that so many fans, including myself, fell in love with. Was this review helpful to you?

SPOILERS for HAPPY show that makes viewers smile + laugh. It's cute AND funny.
WATCH THIS!!For all those doubting about another cold, mean, super condescending ML ... he is NOT.
This TV show and its success highly encouraged the trend of high IQ MLs who are also sweet... early in the show instead dragging the romance...
Also, the main couple has plenty of air time together (unlike many other shows where other side stories take up too much time) .
This TV series shows the ML's point of view too.
This is a very short review...
(For longer descriptions, please read other reviews. )
SCROLL down for SPOILERS ... the episodes when the major events between the main leads happen are...

YOUR CRUSH CAN LOVE YOU BACK TOO!
I started watching ALSB out of Boredom but I think it's the best decision I took. I love everything about this drama. This isn't only a romcom, but also focuses on friendship, career choices and much more. If you're looking for a good laugh, watch it now!
As for the ML, Jiang Chen, played by Hu Yitian, is portrayed as cold, rude, inexpressive, shy and introverted. But he has a soft corner for the FL. I understand why many people hate this character, but as an introvert myself, I could understand his actions. He actually liked her, but was too afraid to express his feelings and hence ends up bullying her because that's easy. However at the end he becomes expressive and tells the FL how he felt all these years.
The FL, Chen Xiaoxi, played by Shen Yue is a bubbly, dumb, clumsy and cheerful girl. However her whole personality revolves around Jiang Chen. She wakes up thinking about him and goes to sleep thinking about him, which at some point you might find annoying. However, I really enjoyed her dumb actions to impress Jiang Chen but always ended up being in trouble.
What's really beautiful is that when they were teens, Xiaoxi used to run after Jiang Chen. And when they grow up Jiang Chen ran after Xiaoxi. It really portrays the love they have for each other and it only got stronger with time.
The side characters hold a special place in the story. The story is incomplete without Lin Jinxiao, Lu Yang and Wu Bosong. They have their own story which makes the drama so much more interesting. The drama might appear funny at the beginning, but at some point you might need tissues, I'm telling you!
Overall, I can proudly say I'll watch this drama again. And again. And again. Because it's that much amazing. Don't wait, just watch it if you wanna feel nostalgic!

Story: The plot is soo good. I wasn't expecting anything. I thought it was just another rom-com school drama but didn't expect this to be this good. The transformation from teens to adult life is what made me like it even more.
Acting/cast: I like Hu Yi Tian. I also appreciate the acting of the whole cast. I just didn't like the character of the person who played Wo Bong Su. He's not that handsome and if I were Jiang Tian, I wouldn't even be jealous ;P
Music: The music was so-so. Hu Yi Tian has his version of the song which made me like it but not to the point to have actually love it. Maybe it's just not my kinda genre.
Rewatch value: YESS!! OF COURSE I WILL WATCH THIS OVER AGAIN. HOPE YOU GUYS TOO> :DDD

You have to power-through the middle, but IT'S SO WORTH IT!!
I understand the set up, and that didn't bother me. Though there were a few times during the high school scenes I wanted to shake the FML and tell her to wake up. That said, the lead actress did an outstanding job of somehow making the main character cute rather than a doormat. But then later, when they're in college, I legit wanted to stop watching because I was so irritated with how the main male character treated the main female character. The only reason I kept watching was to see if she FINALLY ended up with the second male lead.
BUT THEN!!!! OMG! The ending. THE ENDING!!! THE ENDING!!! The ending makes everything worth all the pain and struggle. I've re-watched the last several episodes a few times. Ahh!! It went from a 6.5 to a 9.5 because of the ending. Loved. It.

The best youth drama
This drama is just so precious and pretty that I just HAD TO make an account on this website to review it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AND I'VE PROBABLY WATCHED KAZILLION DRAMAS may it be korean, chinese, taiwanese, japanese, even anime, etc. but this just really comes into my "WOULD PROBABLY REWATCH THIS A FEW MORE TIMES CAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL SO GIDDY & HAPPY." Up to you to not watch it but just know that you're missing out.PLUS, HI? HELLO? Look at that gorgeous Hu Yi Tian in this drama. I probably would've appreciated it more if had cried. Like a tear would have sufficed. BUTTTTT, nonetheless, I would still rewatch this. Seeing him so in love with a girl in this drama made me just want to find a boyfriend stat. lol

A beautiful campus romance
This is a beautiful campus romance - sweet, satisfying, and blessed with a perfect ending. The school-life stories feel authentic yet overflow with youthful innocence and carefree energy. What I love most are the characters: every lead has true agency, courageously standing against injustice while boldly pursuing love. The female lead's decision to break up was particularly wise and justified - she refused to be perpetually sidelined and wanted both partners to pursue fitting career paths. Their reunion after achieving success made for a deeply rewarding conclusion. Was this review helpful to you?
