HIDDEN GEM! A MUST WATCH DRAMA <3
What a hidden gem and treat this show was. I started it expecting it to be your typical cliche time travel show where they go back to the past and STILL fall in love again blah blah blah. But this show honestly was so much more. The storyline was so good. Especially the scenes with the female lead and her mum, which made me cry rivers. I also loved the jealousy from both leads when the other was talking to their potential love interests in the past. Overall, I laughed, I cried. I binged it in two days and now there's a void in my heart. I really want to rewatch this show again because it honestly meant so much to me. Aside from the good storyline, the CHEMISTRY between the leads was electric. The ending of episode 11/beginning of 12 LIVES IN MY MIND RENT FREE. Just watch this drama !!!<3 <3Was this review helpful to you?

This drama is really great at telling a story on how a couple who once had great love for each other was able to reconcile again after revisiting the past and recalling what was it about each other that they loved so much. Only in kdrama would you see a situation where one would receive a divine intervention to reset your life and set things right. And through an unexpected way even!
As usual, Jang Nara is the queen of romcom dramas. It's really great to see her as Ma Jinjoo as we see her life unfolds in the drama. She really looks good with Son Hojun, it wouldn't have crossed your mind that there was a big age gap between them. Nara do tend to have great chemistry with her costars regardless of how old or young they were compared to her.
That said, this is probably the first drama that I don't really mind seeing Jang Kiyong in it. Seriously his character in Born Again really affected my first impression of him to discourage me from even wanting to check out any of his other dramas. But Jang's character in this drama was pretty decent so I guess it's fine.
Really love how the many different couple relationships had been written and how it doesn't feel out of place to see these people grow close together. This drama was really pleasant to watch. But that said, there was still quite a lot of tearjerking scenes, you can't help yourself but relate to them. Love the fact how they did end up changing the future slightly after their return back into the past.

Expect tears even though it’s a RomCom.
Omg! I thought this was a Rom-Com but I cried so much in almost all the episodes!! I decided to watch it after watching COME & HUG ME since that show was heavy and emo. Even though I didn’t cry once watching that one. But THIS show was soooo good!!! I loved GO BACK COUPLE so much! I wish it had more episodes. Every married couple should watch this. I enjoyed all the characters and the acting was superb. The ending was expected and a bit rushed. Not sure about that strange god and goddess scene though. Was this review helpful to you?

The story was hard to get into at first. I'm not a big fan of 90s nostalgia (ugh! The FASHION!), and the comedy was very much of the overacting variety (not my style). I worried that I wouldn't be able to relate to any of these characters, and I got tired of Jin Joo and Ban Do fighting all the time. But eventually, the show won me over. You know a show is good when you want to savour the last few moments, and I'm so glad that so many mistakes of the past were addressed. I BELIEVED that these two people who hated each other were able to come back to each other, and that was definitely a feat in itself. Plus, all the "What really happened" flashbacks to 1999 and 2004 were AMAZING.
I wish the Nam Gil storyline had a bit more to it, but overall the ending here was reasonable. Oh, and where was Jin Joo's sister in the present day? I wish she played a bigger role! I also wish we got to catch up with Seo Young and Dok Jae at the end (c'mon dude, PLEASE tell me you don't still have a girlfriend and a wife!), but otherwise, all the ends were tied up neatly. The "explanation" for the time travel was a bit kooky (seriously, comrades?), but if you suspend your disbelief to watch the whole series, it doesn't even matter. Enjoy the ride and don't forget to have a LOT of tissues on hand.

Over all, I really liked this drama. The casting, acting, and overall story line is great. The writing does drag a bit for me personally. It seems like a lot of Jin Joo and Ban Doo's anger stemmed from miss or lack of communication, which I personally think is too dragged out for 12 episodes. I didn't particularly like the FL character, because she seemed a bit self-centered in regards to the woe is me, we're unhappy aspect. Not only did she drag the 2nd male lead along until the very end (even though we and she knew it wasn't going to be a thing), but in comparison to the male lead who gave up his "First Love" episodes prior, she seems like the more problematic one? Then again, people are innately irrational. Otherwise I enjoyed it. The 90s nostalgia is a bit too early for me to remember but I liked it all the same. OSTs fit the era of the song. I probably won't rewatch because I like their performances better in other dramas.
Also, lmao, I thought Lee Yi Kyung was just going to have long hair for one episode as a gag, but then it never ended. He must have been miserable by the end.

i honestly didn't expect much from this drama.... but the feelings that are coursing through my body right now make me feel so satisfied that i chose to give this a try.. one of my top ten best korean dramas! i had seen son ho jun's performance in my secret terius and i'm glad i got to see him in this as a main lead! jang na ra has always been exceptional and she did a wonderful job in portraying her role as a wife and as a mother! the baby that played the role of seo joon is so adorable too!
the thing that i liked the most in this drama is that even if they went back to the past they never forgot about their son.... every child around them reminded them of seo joon... and the emotions they portrayed whenever they thought of SEo joon was soo touching! the rest of the cast did a pretty amazing job too... lee yi kyung is such a wonderful but underrated actor!!! this drama tells about a love that is so pure that even when a chance was given to change their fate, they chose to walk down the same path! i'm pretty sure it taught all of us some important lessons...

Divine Ring is Daebak!!!
I have nothing against Choi Ban Do and Ma Jin Joo. As a watcher, I see how hard it is for Ban Do to protect and earn a living for his family but Jin Joo's situation isn't any better. But due to some misunderstandings they end up hating and cursing each other leading to their divorce.BUT... what I really want to emphasize here is my heart aches for Nam Gil Oppa! Huhuhu. Another Second Lead Syndrome. I love those little shy smiles and those caring eyes whenever he's with our Jin Joo. That pure and genuine love is what makes "first love" worth it.
PS. I would like to commend my fave quote in this drama.
"You can live without your parents, but you can never live without your child"
That's the major turning point that let Jin Joo decide to go back to baby Seo Jinnie!

You'll go back watching this again :)
It's written in my profile that I don't watch Rom-Coms but this one's an exception. I have come across this drama when it aired in Manila - the Tagalog dubbed version. At first, I got interested in watching this just because of the plot twist that they returned 20 years to the past. But after finishing the whole season, I realized that it is more than the romantic story of the lead characters. I appreciate more the story of Jin Joo and her Mom.Technically, I love the production design of this film and their make-up, the wardrobe... just all. I mean showing 2 dimensions of time is pretty hard to showcase just to make the audience feel the time difference.
To be honest, this was the first-ever Kdrama that had me in tears. Almost weeping. :(
I have mentioned this in my previous review for "Tell Me What You Saw," nothing is perfect but the 9.5 rating is a just and humane rating for this drama - well-deserved!
Well, I'll let you be the judge if I am wrong. :) Happy watching!

I’m not usually a fan of time-travel dramas. I often avoid them due to the typical clichés and unrealistic plotlines that come with the genre. So when I saw that there would be several time-travel dramas released this year, I quickly lost interest.
Initially, I had no plans to watch this series. I barely paid attention to it and didn’t think it would be worth my time. I only ended up watching it after the final episode aired—and to my surprise, I was immediately hooked. I finished the entire series in one sitting.
This is one of those rare time-travel dramas that genuinely resonated with me. While it's far from perfect and has its flaws—especially in the final episode—the emotional journey it took me on was more than enough to make me overlook those shortcomings.
What stood out most was its realistic portrayal of a married couple who had once been deeply in love but had grown apart over time. The lack of communication and understanding between them, the strain of financial hardship, and the quiet sacrifices made just to keep a household afloat—all of these were depicted with sincerity and depth. It captured the bittersweet reality of how many of us enter adulthood full of dreams and ambition, only to be met with the weight of real-life responsibilities. Yet, through it all, we learn, grow, and continue to move forward.
I particularly appreciated the way the characters evolved after traveling back to the past. Watching them reflect on their younger selves and confront the things they had once taken for granted was incredibly moving.
Some of the most emotionally impactful scenes involved Jin Joo and her mother. They brought me to tears multiple times. These moments served as a powerful reminder that we often take our parents' love for granted in our youth—only to wish we had one more chance to see them, talk to them, and be with them once they're gone.
If I had one major complaint, it would be the writer’s decision to insert a few unnecessary cliché tropes near the end. It felt out of place and took away from the grounded and heartfelt tone the drama had established. Without those, this series could have been nearly perfect.
Still, this drama left a lasting impression on me. It’s a story that stays with you long after the final episode—a reminder of love, regret, and second chances. One of the few time-travel dramas that truly touched my heart.

I do not remember the last time I was so touched after watching the drama. I did not expect much but I what I got was an incredibly beautiful and touching story about how difficult the life can be after school. Our hopes and dreams can be crushed so easily under the pressure of real life. Been there, done there.
There were moments I was laughing so hard and crying so genuinely. Go back couple is a drama with perfect combination of humor, sadness, touching moments.....All the emotions you feel from the single characters are so real and you can easily identify yourself with them.
The cast in this drama is simply amazing. I love them all but I especially love the supporting roles An Jae Woo and Go Dok Jae. Like really guys? You made my day only looking on your haircuts. You were the korean Laurel and Hardy of the show.
I like the nice feeling I got after finishing the episodes. I am somehow comforted and that does not happen often after watching dramas.
