In my opinion this drama was just perfect! Of course this also has a lot to do with my preferences for BL stories and characters. Even though it's not perfectly obvious who is the seme and who is the uke in the main relationship (and it's also not necessary to know), I considered Xia Yu Hao as the uke, and I really like delinquent / rebel uke characters because they are usually so soft and loving once you get to know them better which really contrasts with the way they pretend to be. Also I love it when the seme character is a little tsundere and the uke is more active, so this couple was exactly to my liking^^The actors also portrayed the characters extremely well. I was especially impressed with the actor playing Xia Yu Hao who really made me feel the emotions of the character and in addition is simply overwhelmingly cute and pretty! Qiu Zi Xuan's feelings and thoughts on the other hand were not so easy to understand, but that was part of his character who was more reserved and composed. Overall the actors were great and made the story so emotional and enjoyable to watch. The romantic scenes where in no way awkward, but seemed very natural and real.
Many people are complaining that this drama is too short, but in my opinon that is not the case. In comparison to many Thai dramas (of which I have seen a lot) that usually exaggerate with the time given to every single scene to really build up that emotion, I actually prefer this faster pacing of the HIStory Series. Making this series longer (without adding more story) wouldn't have made it better. For me the story is told just at the right speed to not make it seem rushed, but also not let it get boring. And the emotional / romantic scenes are still long and passionate enough to really get involved emotionally. (And if I wanted more I sometimes just watched single scenes on repeat^^)
Even though it was such a short series it also included a second couple that didn't get as much screentime, but still enough to make their story seem satisfyingly complete which I really appreciated. Here we had another active uke (although his confession was kind of unintentional), and I also have a thing for romantic relationships between brothers, so this story exactly suited my taste, too, which made the series even more perfect for me. All the important side characters were also smoothly included in the story and the relationships between the main characters and their respective friends were very beautiful and supporting.
Although I don't have anything to complain about, I gave "only" 9 stars for the story because I didn't feel like it was anything special enough to give it a 10/10. Overall though this series definitely deserves the 10 stars. I will surely watch it again and I can only recommend it to all of you :)

I’m so glad I did because it was great. The story was simple but I liked the way we got to know the characters in so little time (it’s only 4 episodes, after all). At first it looked like it was going way too fast, something I don’t particularly like, but then it slowed down and I started liking it more. Episodes 3 and 4 were amazing, I was really into the two couples!
I don’t want to spoil anyone but I have to mention the amazing last scene!! Simple but sooooo well acted (you know what I mean if you’ve watched it ;)). No awkwardness between the actors, we truly felt how much the characters had grown, simply beautiful.
The second couple’s ending scenes (the last two scenes in which they appear) MADE ME SCREAM SO HARD ONGOMGOMGONG I LOVE THEM!!!!!?????!??? Yep, that’s the type of feeling. A second season is seriously mandatory.
I didn’t pay attention to the music that much but I liked how it fit some moments of the drama perfectly, like it even matched the character’s movements. It made the scenes more emotional. The last song that played is really pretty as well.
I’ll certainly rewatch this. I can’t not to! This is in the top 3 best History series for me. History 2 was like a miracle after History 1. I never thought the quality of the series would increase this much from one season to another!
These days I’m starting to rate BL’s as “normal” dramas, because the quality in acting and script is increasing, so it doesn’t feel like just a badly written story about two gay characters but a story in which the characters happen to like the same gender. Which I really appreciate. I’m not sure if I expressed this correctly, it was not my intention to offend anyone! Anyways, I really like this drama and I rated it as I would rate a non-BL drama. For a show released before 2019, when Bl’s quality started increasing significantly imo, it’s an amazing rating.
I really hope we get a second season because we need more scenes with both in a relationship!!! Please!!! It’s a need!!! Survival is in risk!!! I hope they do it like they promised even if it seems as though there are some problems occurring. Anyways, if anyone knows if there’s a novel out there, please let me know! And to those of you who haven’t watched this: please do! You will not lose your time.

Simply Sweat History
Where to begin... This series is way to short for the level of amazing that it is. Beginning to end, I was captivated by the simple yet fascinating love story that was surrounded by a sport. I am not a sports person but I had to watch this series twice, simply because I had to relive the drama. I couldn't even say how this would end, but I found myself hoping more and more that someone would come and take a beating for me.Story - This story began simple enough, where trouble teen (Xia Yu Hao) runs into serious teen (Qiu Zi Xuan) while trying to escape authority. That fence jump even impressed me. Come bro, jump my fence anytime. While one is forced by a teacher to work with the other as punishment, they find a mutual love for the sport, or so I thought. I couldn't quite figure out if the motivation was love for the sport or love for who is teaching him to play the sport. I figured it out by the end, but by then I was so distracted by the nervous phone calls and glances between the two main Characters, that I was surprised to not know how it will end.
The mini story of Wang Zhen Wen and Wang Zhen Wu was also a nice touch to the entire series. I wasn't sure sometimes what was happening between them, but the moments of secret confessions made me tear up a bit. They really loved each other and only wanted each other to be happy. Only someone that truly loves you will push you away for you to be happy while they slowly die inside.
Acting - The acting by the main cast was superb. They delivered every emotion and had me on the edge of my seat coming down to the end when they had that simple but so powerful argument before the game. Every stammer, every double take, every nervous reflex that they had, I believed. Every smile, every long run, I swear i hopped they didn't trip nor get stopped by a teacher.
Side bar: These boys are soooooooooo handsome, made me want to be a BL actor just to see if his lips are as soft as they look.
Music - Pay attention to what you are hearing, because my heart beat with every song that was played. They matched the emotion of the scenes so well, bringing more depth to the emotions that the acting already had me feeling.

A breath of fresh air
This short series was so well done, perfect in every way. Even though it is short, the story is well done, the actors are amazing and there is never a dull moment. The actors had real chemistry, the kisses were not just lips pressed together, the anger, happiness and other emotions were heartfelt. I even like the side couple a lot. Brothers who are not blood related, the difficulty of admitting they had feelings for each other.
Volleyball was a nice change from basketball, and the shots of them jumping were awesome, as was the music during those scenes. The music overall and the lyrics were perfect.
I watched this a long time ago, glad I watched it again.

Cuteness overload!
This show is well written, well acted, funny and cute. When I feel down, I come back to watch some of its funny/cute moments and my mood immediately improves. Chemistry between the characters is there - it's easy to forget that they are actors, because their affection looks so real! And you don't get to feel bad for anyone in the end - happy ending is indeed happy. Probably the best season of "HIStory".Was this review helpful to you?
Pretty tame and calm series
I found this randomly in my early days of watching bl and as my first taiwanese watch, i was impressed. The story was sweet and i fell in love with the main couple. This isnt a stressful show but rather a short series you can watch as a little refresher or an "in-between" type of thing. The second couple confused me a bit and honestly i still dont get their story all to well lol. Feel unfinished
After the complete feeling from HIStory2: Right or Wrong, this part again left me feeling like unfinished story. You can say they have the complete story, beginning - middle - ending. But when they close the curtain, for me, the leave with the feeling of something to be finished...If only they have a little bit closure, like HIStory2: Right or Wrong, when they give us a little preview about their life after relationship. It's gonna make the drama a lot better. Like if they end it in the graduation scene for examples... Oh that's gonna be a lot better.
But the story itself you can't said bad or toxic. This simply story about teenagers that fall in love & learn about their feeling to each other, apart from gender & any issues regarding it...
Overall i can't say this the best version of HIStory2 series, but also not the worst of them...

Crossing the line ?
For me, this drama is more of an experience than something big or dramatic. It’s not loud or over-the-top. It’s just calm and real in its own way.I appreciate this series a lot because I’ve watched many school BLs that go too far with unrealistic settings, exaggerated romance, and things that don’t really fit a high school age. Compared to that, this felt grounded. These are just students from normal families, living their school lives, playing volleyball, studying, and dealing with feelings they don’t fully understand yet.
That realism is what made this drama work for me.
It doesn’t push emotions onto you or try to convince you that “this is love.” Instead, it stays in that in-between space of care, affection, tension, and hesitation. One of the ML characters is open and easy to read, while the other is quiet and emotionally closed, almost telling himself that what he feels is just responsibility or concern. That subtle difference felt very real, especially in a high school setting.
This doesn’t feel like a grand “true love” story. It feels more like a crush slowly turning into something deeper. The kind of feelings you have in school are unspoken attraction, small moments, awkward care, and maybe one honest confession that comes only when there’s pressure or fear of losing the chance. I’m glad it didn’t drag itself out too long, because stretching it more could’ve easily made it cliché. Stopping where it did felt right.
This is the kind of drama you watch when you want something calm. It feels like looking back at your school memories, love confessions, silent crushes, things you felt but never clearly named, or even moments you never personally experienced, without being overwhelmed. It doesn’t try to change your worldview or leave behind big messages; it just lets you feel quietly and then move on.
I also believe timing, life stage, and personal experience matter a lot. Someone who experienced love during their school days might connect with this more deeply than I did. People feel things differently, and that’s okay. Films are personal.
So for me, this drama stays at a solid 8/10. I can’t give it a 10 because a 10 has to come straight from the heart, and my heart didn’t say that. At the same time, giving it less would feel unfair, especially when finding genuinely good BLs is still rare.
It’s not my all-time favorite, but it’s a drama I respect and would recommend to anyone who enjoys quiet stories, realism, school-day nostalgia, and gentle emotional tension.

A very nice surprise
The first History season I watched was Trapped, which has many more episodes. So I was a bit worried how well 4 episodes of 45 minutes could deliver a well rounded story. The show manages to develop, rather slowly, two couple with completely different stories. In one hand we have Wang Zhen Wen and Wang Zhen Wu, who’ve known each other all their lives and been inseparable since 7th grade. I personally get the feeling that they both kinda liked each other all along, and not a single sided love from Zhen Wen. I like their status in the end as “living our best life”. It’s obvious that they’re happy.
On the other hand, Zi Xuan and You Hao have to go through a lot of steps rather quickly, but it still doesn’t feel rushed in my opinion. They go from don’t particularly liking each, to being friendly, to spending a lot of time together to actually being together, by the end. I’m happy that this show doesn’t even come close to the “but he’s a guy!” territory with any of the characters. Zach and Fandy probably have one of the best chemistry level’s in my opinion, considering how short this show is.
From being on social media and youtube I had actually seen two scenes from the show (the net kiss and the “confession”). I didn’t realize until it happened that the confession scene, with the sister, was from this series. It’s probably my favorite part.

KILIG OVERLOAD!
TRUTHFULLY, this was my very first time to feel a 100% "kilig" towards the chemistry of the main leads. Kilig? That's a Filipino word but I can't hardly say how it exactly means. But one thing for sure, you felt it too when your crush/love unexpectedly did something unusual. This is the romantic thrill that moved you to heaven. I'm really lost for words. This is all because of Zach Lu (as Zi Xuan). All of Yu Hao's action portrays my imaginary actions towards Zi Xuan's cute charms. I, myself, would easily fall to Zi Xuan's charm like Yu Hao.......
Back to the storyline *hehehe*, one factor that lost its points to make this a 9.5 or higher, the ending isn't enough! Can there be a Season 2? Please? I was elated by the volleyball scenes. Even if there are no romantic scenes, volleyball match scenes are enough to make this series a standout. But then, we only saw one match in the entire series. Still good though.
Nevermind the acting. They did all splendidly. My review will all point back to Zach Lu's irresistible appeals.

Not a very typical school-based BL love story
A BL love story in a school setting like a lot of other BLs but not very typical as this series emphasized on a school co-curricular activity (sports) instead.A troublemaker student falling in love with a strict senior and changed his ways to be a better student both academically and in the sport they are playing. The senior obviously also developed feelings for his junior but is in denial; moreover his sister has a crush on the junior, making things more complicated. Eventually love overcomes everything and they manage to reveal their true feelings for each other.
2 problems with this series:
1. The junior's dream about the steamy kiss felt out of place. Feels like it's forced into the show for the sake of it.
2. While I understand it's a character that the senior is playing, some lines appear to be cringy and not very natural.
Side couple got an unclear story too but also displays uncertainties in BL romance.
Overall, it's a good series that describes the insecurities and uncertainties when two boys have feeling for each other, a very common theme but also truly reflects the real-world scenario.

Easy to follow but I WISH THEY HAD MORE TIME TOGETHER
Easy to follow but I WISH THEY HAD MORE TIME TOGETHER.First off, I watched HIStory1: My Hero, HIStory1: Stay Away From Me, HIStory1: Obsessed, HIStory2: Right or Wrong, all before I watched HIStory2: Crossing The Line. I gave My Hero a 6.5/10. Stay Away From Me a 8/10. Obsessed a 9/10. Right or Wrong a 9.5/10. And I am giving Crossing The Line an 8/10, although I don't think Stay Away Frome Me and Crossing The Line are comparable.
The editing in this is solid. I know I know, I am late to the trend of watching this series...by like 5 years. But even compared to many BLs in 2023 the editing on this is very good. And it was good compared to HIStory1: My Hero. Like the music really felt put in at the right times and not at all overused.
I've started taking notes on these BLs since I am extremely busy and can't always remember so my first note was "who is this unhinged mf saying "flower" "flower" and touching these guys while there are pissing. Like calm down." Okay, after some very thoughtful watching that was He Cheng En. HE WAS ACTUALLY SO UNHINGED AND ONE OF THE BEST SUPPORT ROLES I'VE SEEN. He was so funny and a little weird, but sill he was one of my favorite characters.
I really liked the bond/friendship between Wang Zhen Wen, Zhang Li Qin, and Hsia Yu Hao. That was literally trio goals. They were all three just there for one another like Yu Hao got expelled and his besties came with him (more like Li Qin followed him and Zhen Wen followed Li Qin because they are brothers). The trio is just amazing
I wrote in my notes "okay so him being a good person is mad cute" I dont really know who I am talking about..Okay im talking of He Cheng En. When he wasnt bullying the youths on the volleyball team, he was so sweet.
I am taking off 2 starts because of the fact that 2/3 of the trio (Wang Zhen Wen, Zhang Li Qin, and Hsia Yu Hao) ARE LITTERALLY BROTHERS. LIKE WHAT IS WITH THE HISTORY SERIES AND MAKING STEP BROTHERS FALL IN LOVE? LIKE ANY OTHER TROUPE WOULD BE BETTER BUT NO MAKE THE FUCKING BROTHERS FALL IN LOVE. I ACTUALLY DONT UNDERSTAND.
Finally why do they have noen green shoe laces? like thats just ugly.
Final verdict is 8/10. Pretty solid wish Qiu Zi and Yu Hao had more time together. And i wish the brothers didnt fall in love.
Sorry if my grammar is bad. English is my first language, i just suck at it.
