The Legends

招摇 ‧ Drama ‧ 2019
- both dramas have a demoness, though they appear at different times in the drama
- both dramas have a shifu-disciple relationship (not really shifu in the same sense as TJOF but FL does call ML that at some point)
- both FLs have felt betrayed by ML
- Sects fighting

Plots are different, but when watching The Legends it felt like some points were similar to TJOF and made me feel nostalgic

Both are xianxia (but set on earth) dramas in which the FL rescues the non human ML and he falls in love with her, faithfully following her everywhere. Both FLs are wounded by their pasts and MLs are puppy like.

I have a feeling that Lu zhao yao will have the same revenge and anger as Li Qing Yue, they both are strong and both suffered in their life but also both have that soft side. Also the journey of the legend zhao yao was full of difficulties the same with Li Qing yue.

Both are romance, mystery, fantasy, comedy and wuxia dramas. Both have similarity in plot too. In The Legends demons are hated and misunderstood while the so called orthodox sects kill demons indescrimately and are honoured for that. In the shadows these righteous sects use demonic techniques to become powerful. The demons make a sect of their own to prove how they can be righteous, kind and just.

Both are historical dramas starring Bai Lu as female lead character. Bai Lu's characters in both are very different from each other.
In One and Only, the leads have a Master and Disciple relationship, she calls him "Shifu". Also in the Legends, FL sometimes calls ML "Shifu" while she is pretending to be someone to get close to him.

Both have the concept of a shadow or piece of a person who becomes their own unique person. Both have misunderstandings between the leads, with the FL having a wrong impression of the ML's feelings/actions for a large portion of the drama.

Both has strong female leads who is independent and seem to be helping the male lead actively. Great couple chemistry.

Both dramas have a lead character (ML vs. FL) who is connected to the dead demon king's soul and the "good" characters want to kill to prevent the evil from returning. The other lead who has fallen in love with them does everything to protect and save them. At one point in each drama, a misunderstanding leads to one of the leads believing the other has betrayed/killed them.

The begining of these dramas are similar.
- They start of with a carefree FL who finds the ML (saves him in TL)
- The FL and ML share a really cute and pure friendship at the start where it is clear that the ML likes the FL (it is reciprocated in TW)
- Time jump within the first several episodes where the leads grow out of their carefree selves and have to be tough because of circumstances and people trying to kill them.
- The FL in TL and ML in TW grow out of their sweet and innocent selves and become really strong and powerful because of hatered. They become feared by eveyone.
- The FL dies in TL in the first few episodes and the ML in TW is thought to be dead after the first few episodes by the FL. The leads in TL and TW mourn for the loss of the other lead for years until they meet again.
- When the leads meet again, there are a lot of misunderstandings between them where the FL in TL and the ML in TW hates their leads as they believe they were betrayed and essentially killed by them.
- The ML in TL amd FL in TW also grow stronger as the story goes on.
- Neither dramas really have a happy ending where the leads are concerned.
That's about where the similarities end, the supporting characters are very different, and so is the plot.
- The FL in TL is probably more similar to the SFL in TW, her character also mirrors the ML in TW.

FL starts out as ML's superior but then after FL is revived, their roles switch. ML also has seeds of a demonic core at first.

- Injustice between demons and immortals

Both have strong FL who start off with almost nothing, and rise to power. Both have ML that are powerful, but willing to give up everything to love and protect the FL against a series of attacks. The FL in both are martial artists. Similar fantasy/magical background.

- Same director
- The main character lu zhao yao of the legends is like a female version of wei wu xian from the untamed
- Reincarnation
- Spans over a long period of time
- Shows how not everything is black or white
