I liked the plot at the beginning, but then felt like they ruined the story with the ending. Almost everybody that we kind of felt in love died, which honestly just breaks my heart. Even thou I love Vin Zhang as an actor, and is one of my favorite Chinese actors I kind of felt in love with Dong Fang Shi played by Austin Lin. Dong Fang Shi is the second male lead and even though he was kind of a bad boy good boy role I just felt that he gave so many emotions that I just felt like he was carrying the love triangle on his own and making it really believable. Hated it but at the same time loved it, which it seems that not that many people did.

Good and funny

I like this drama and the music is really good. The story is interesting with some funny scenes and made you wanting to watch the next episode. The interaction between the FL and the two ML are fun to watch. And the actors including the side characters acted out their characters really well.
Even the bad guy were not too bad and you feel a little sorry for his character.
The only bad thing I have to say in this drama is it's ending. They could have written a better ending easily as the drama is ruined by it a little bit.

We could have had it all. Ariel Lin adorable, my son Zhang Bib Bin is beautiful, and the rest of the cast was mostly A+. Truly, the performances were the best part of what could have been a much better show had the story not completely unraveled near the end. In fact, I would happily sit through the first 45 episodes of the show again just to watch Ariel Lin charm the socks of everyone and everything she encounters.

That said, though the story was otherwise quite fun, it did unravel near the end. Partly because the writers dropped what I figured were some pretty important plot threads, partly because some of the best characters made some VERY abrupt heel-turns (think Jaime Lannister at the end of GoT), but mostly because the ending felt very discordant with the rest of the show.

The production values were also occasionally inconsistent--and even downright terrible in one episode. The lighting and makeup were not always on point, but one episode completely dropped all the background noise. This didn't bother me terribly because the production was otherwise perfectly fine, but I did find those occasional blunders a bit distracting.

Still, if you're at all into wuxia romances or beautiful people being goofy together, I highly recommend the show---except for the last few episodes. Just skip those and watch the last thirty seconds, which, even though they made no sense, at least made me happy.

Ariel's acting as a smart and un- intimidated female lead is refreshing and a pleasure to watch. I love that though she is "physically weak" she is able to "think her way" out of many predicaments. It is super fun to see how she handles all the challenges thrown her way. There are many secrets that add a lot of tension and curiosity but unlike dramas that hold the secrets for a long time making you feel super frustrated, surprisingly secrets are revealed pretty quickly so you feel tension then its released then again and again.... Vin Bin Bin is gorgeous to look at and the Villian character though ridiculous a lot of the time is also very entertaining. There are definitely a few times when I was rooting for him. the last few eps dragged a little and the ending was a bit meh for me personally, but its definitely a super fun and awesome ride.

The whole plot is rather interesting. Although I'm not fond of Zorrolike characters, Vin Zhang's smile wins it all ! We can regret here a storyline rather far away from psychological and social reality. Nerverless, actors are doing a very good job, only Kris Sun is overacting but he is actually playing the dummy infatuated and love sick guy you can only laugh at when he doesn't get on your nerves ! I was really impressed with Xing En's character (Mo Ruo Fei) not only because of the actor's performance but although because of the warmth and sex appeal Xing En gives to Mo Ruo Fei. Actually, the most interesting and unexpexted part of this drama is its last episode. From the very beginning of it till the end, you hardly can believe what is going on and can't help saying nooo, wtf is happening, whyyyy. Are the Director and sceenwriter being serious ? Even the actors are acting bad. This last episode is really the worst ending episode I have ever watched ! Really, this is kind of masterpiece ! Last episode is worth watching and it will never let you go !

Starting a bit slow but after ep. 27 the plot become more interesting. But I'm not satisfied with the ending. That's the reason I only rate 7/10 for the story.
I like the cast, both lead character and also second male lead. Only a little bit unpleasant with Mo Ruo Fei character, but she was doing a good job in her acting.
I don't really like the music, since this drama is wuxia drama, I'd prefer more Chinese traditional music as soundtrack.
I don't think I will rewatch this drama, perhaps only few parts, since the ending is a disappointment.

A light-hearted Drama that wasted its potential.

I initially watch this drama for Ariel Lin, and despite the lack of story development and serious pacing issues. I thought the actors did a good job with the material they had. And, had it stayed a light hearted drama -as it was for most of the episodes—I probably would’ve rated higher. However, the last 3-5 episodes, the writer tired to shift the focus of the drama,—literally shoving so many character and story elements, that it was not well-flushed out or made any sense. Which, is unfortunate because, they were interesting story/character concepts, but they didn’t have enough time to properly cover it.

Overall, It wasn’t completely terrible, but it lacked story focused. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Austin Lin’s role in this drama, he was a welcome surprised. And, as I am typing this I am searching for more of his roles.

I mainly started to watch this drama due to Ariel Lin but little did I expect I would have a huge second lead syndrome and its funny cause it was very similar way to prince lan ling who had same actresses. I was interested in the main couple with both of them but then the story makes them apart and introduces second lead who brings the comedy and fun back to the drama. I did drop the drama for almost half a year around episode 40 because I stumbled upon spoilers! Came back to finish watching it only to figure out dropping it was better since the writing gets very bad as you go on. I came back mainly due to second lead's charm since I was already not very invested in the main couple. The ending doesn't make any sense, its semi okay for people who enjoyed the main pairing but other than that was bad. The way characters were handled was not justified but I did enjoy the comedy aspect of this drama and it was somewhat fun ride so I did not get bored often.

Headline? Seriously Everyone In This Drama Literally Dies At The Very End! Only One Person Servives!

I Wrote A Better Review Before, But You Tap Something, And Poof, You Review Is Gone. 🙄🤷‍♀️

I Really Liked The Story Line, But I Just Didn't Like T Plhe Ending, Because Seriously, And Tragically Everyone Dies At The Very End Very Horrible, And Terrible Deaths... The Whole Story Revolves Around A Girl Named Hua BuQi (Ariel Lin) That Was Raised By Her Uncle As A Begger... To Keep Her Identity Hidden, And Away From Her True Identity's Dangers... Something About Her Blood Or In Her Blood Is The Key To Opening A Sacred City Or Place Called 必留天 (Bì liú tiān). Hua BuQi Knows Nothing Of Her True Identity, And About The Secrets About Her Blood.

I 1st Saw A Short Of Chen Yu (Zhang BinBin) Choking Hua BuQi, And Her Scratching Him, And Giving Him A Wound. Usually I Stray Away From Stuff Like This, But For Some Reason This Short Caught My Attention, And I Had To Watch This Drama. I'm Glad I Did Watch This Drama, Because This Drama Is Not Only Funny, It's Just Sometimes Danny Right Outrageously Hilarious!!! But Unfortunately For The Price Of HappineOrss, And Laughter, There Is Also Sadness, And Heart Ache.

Mind You This Is The 3rd Chinese Drama I Ever Watched, And I Was Really Loving Zhang BinBin's Character Chen Yu, As The Prince He Was Quit Arragant, Handsome, And Charming All At The Same Time. But Him As The Black Robe Lotus Knight, Oh My God... Lol He Was Just A Beautiful Gorgeous Sight To See... Everything From His Outfit To His Cross Bow Is So Very Perfect, And Gorgeous. That Outfit Just Made Zhang BinBin Way More Handsome, And Gorgeous Then Spider Man, Super Man, And Batman Combined, Or It Could Just Be Zhang BinBin Is GORGEOUS, And Really HANDSOME. 😁😝 My Favorite Thing I Think Is His Crossbow. That Thing Is So Cool. 😎

DongFang Shi (Austin Lin) Him And His Antics... At 1st I Didn't Know About Him, Because There Was A Deal That Was Made That He Was Supposed To Marry Whom Evers Daughter, Grand Daughter, Ect. 1st Born, But It Was Said What If It's A Boy And, Well Which Ever Is 1st A Girl The Son Would Marry Her. Well Hua BuQi Was Sick, And He Was The Only Doctor That Could Save Her, But He Was Kind Of Strange. At 1st I Couldn't Understand His Intentions... And Unfortunately Hua BuQi Was Already In Love With Chen Yi. I Can Say This Though DongFang Shi Even Though Was Kind Of Creepy, And A Little Pushy, He Did Love Hua BuQi. They Did Eventually Start Having Fun Together.
But In The Both Very End Chen Yu, And DongFang Shi, Both Proved How Much They Loved Her.

Chen Yu Didn't Have It Easy Either, His Father Which Was The King Wanted Him To Find Hua BuQi Which Is His Daughter... So Chen Yu Only Knew This Was His Half Sister. In There Very 1st Meeting, As Prince Chen Yu Hua BuQi Have Insulted Him, But At The Same Time Complimenting The Black Robe Lotus Knight, Which Were In The Same. Though The Drama When The Prince Is Just The Prince He Is So Mean To Hua BuQi. As The Black Robe Lotus Knight He Is So Caring, And Loving Towards Her. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Eventually As The Prince He Starts Getting Soft On Her Too. One Day She Confessed To Him As The Black Robe Lotus Night That She Liked Him, And Would He Marry Her, She Was Sick, And Had A Fever, And Was Dilerious. Anyways That Lead Him To Stop Seeing Her. The 2nd To Last Time He Sees Her She Is Still Very Sick, He Secretly See Her, But She Know He Is There, Because Of A Bunny Lanter He Leaves, She Forces Him To Come Out, Because She Would Go Inside, And She Faints, He Tells Her He Can't Be With Her, And She Say She Knows She Should Have Never Told Him She Likes Him. He Eventually Wants To Show Her His Face, WHICH HE NEVER SHOWS ANYONE, But She Doesn't Want To See, And Even Covers Her Face So She Won't See His Face, And He Leaves As She Is Crying, As He Looks Like He Wants To Cry Himself. The Next Time She See Him She Notices A Scar On His Hand, And She Remembers When She Scratch Chen Yu, So At This She Wants To See His Face He Days No, When You Get Better, The Next Time I See You I Will Let You See My Face. She Tricks By Pretending She Fell, He Goes To Pick Her Up, And She Pulls Off His Mask. She Loses It, And Say Why Is Is Always You, You Must Be Trying To Trick Me, Because You Know I Like The Black Robe Lotus Knight... She Start Hitting Him From Behind, Because He Won't Face Her, And She Tells His To Bring Back My Black Robe Lotus Knight, And He Tells Her For I Am Your Brother, But The Black Robe Lotus Knight Can Be Your, As She Is Hugging Him From Be Hind He Makes Her Let Go, And He Leaves. He Goes To A Friend House To Get Drunk, Because He Is So In Love With Her Too. His Friend, That Is Maybe The Only One That Knows He Is The Black Robe Lotus At End When Chen Yu Passes Out Says You Are Causing All This Ruckus, And Being Angry, Because Of A Girl. Chen Yu Even Broke A Wine Bottle, And Told His Friend To Get Wine For Him.

And There Journey Begins, Hua BuQi Finally Finds Out Her Though Her Birthday ,That They Are Not Related, And Writes Her Birthday On The Bunny Lanter With Her Own Blood. Some People Faked Hua BuQi's Death To Keep Her Safe.
Anyways Chen Yu Is So Devastated That She Passed He Is Determined To Find Where She Is Buried. His Father Would Not Allow Him To Go To Her Funeral. Anyway He, And His Friend Eventually Finds Where She Is Buried, And He Starts To Dig, His Friend Tells Him To Stop Digging, Because She Is At Peace, And She Is Your Sister, You Real Sister, What Do Think People Will Think... Chen Yu Says He Doesn't Care He Needs To Tell Her How He Feels About Her, Eventually He Comes Across The Lanter Bunny, And Sees What Hua BuQi Wrote On The Bunny, And Puts 2, And 2 Together, And He Is Determined To Get Her Body Out To See Her, But There Is No Body.
Chen Yu Finally Has Hope, And There Journey Has Just Begun...

P.S. Ariel Lin, And Austin... I Was So Happy To Find Out That There Was 2 Taiwanese Actors In This Drama, It's Funny To, Because At That Time Since This Was My 3rd Drama I Watched, I Had A Hard Time Understanding What They Are Saying, Because People From Chinese, When They Speak, The Have An Accent, Or Don't Pronounce The Words, And Kind Of Mumble It, So It Was Hard For Me To Understand... When I Watch This Drama, I Noticed I Could Understand Ariel Lin, And Austin Lin, I Told My Mom That... That Day I Looked Them Both Up, And Saw That They Were From Taiwan. Taiwanese People Pronounce There Words, Speak Clearer. Anyways I Just Thought It Was Cool That They Were Taiwanese. 😁

Plot wise - This was an interesting drama, I loved the mysterious romance between the masked hero and our female lead. I just didn't like the fact that there wasn't much of our otp moments in the first 12 episodes or so. I would have gladly given this at least a 9/10 but the last few episodes had plot directions that I didn't understand. The ending episode was the most unsatisfactory one I've watched in a while. There were unnecessary deaths and a character that I had a liking towards changed so much. There should be one more episode at the very least as the viewers were given no explanation whatsoever about the very last scene.

The cast was stellar, I felt vin Zhang pulled off his character really well. He is so handsome as the mysterious masked hero! Ariel Lin was good too, as an experienced actress, she really made her character come to life. The supposed "villain" had an interesting character and I felt sorry for his one sided love for the female lead.

I loved the music, especially the sad song that played whenever our main OTP has sad scenes. The ending song was great too!

I would definitely rewatch the cute moments between our main leads!! The jealousy scenes were adorable!!

As a frequent watcher of chinese historical dramas, this drama wasn't the best but I would still recommend people to watch this as I loved it despite the shortcomings of the last episode.

Everyone has their different point of view. I wouldn't rate the drama 10/10 but the cast in this drama was pretty awesome. The main problem I guess was is the writer.. I enjoyed the most of the episodes. The ending part was extremely disappointing. I didn't expect that ending could really affect the whole drama.

I would say I was confused in between when the main actor wasnt Austin lin (Dong Fang Shi). His role was really awesome. Looking forward to see him in other drama leading the main role.
