Sometimes old school dramas are just the best! One of my very first, decided to watch again, and lo and behold still is. Anyone interested in just a good romantic drama with a twist. This one is not your typical rich guy, poor girl. It's a reversal, rich girl, poor guy.

cast- just amazing, Kim Seung Woo plays the poor male lead, he is what made this drama so believable and his acting is incredible in this one. You feel his desire, emotions its written all over his face. the female lead Choi Ji Woo is somewhat more subdued but you still root for them. The rest of the cast was just superb. I like how they had a little bromance going on and the character developments throughout the drama, you really end up loving every character, What I also like is how the realism of the poor guy's day to day life and people in his shoes was portrayed. It's REALITY.

Music- definitely one of my favorite osts....even tried to find one particular song. not even in print and cannot find it on you tube. :(

overall just a fun, escape kinda fairytale, but in fact very realistic, believable especially the beginnings of falling in love with someone, just an enjoyable, feel good all around drama.

Disappointing

The drama biggest problem is its both male leads. Both were incompatible, had zero chemistry and looked way older than their real age and compared to female lead. Regardless of anything else, the drama failed to nail the most basic elements of any romance. The romance itself was poor, awkward, emotionless and dull. Again, the lack of chemistry/connection isn't helping either. More or less, the comedy/entertainment value was equally problematic. This drama was a disastrous romcom from the very beginning and there was no saving it. Almost any other Choi Ji Woo drama from that era was better than this one.

Cute Rom-Com

I've only recently started watching old Korean movies and dramas and wanted to check out Choi Ji Woo's filmography after seeing her cameo in Crash Landing on You. This seemed to be the only romantic comedy in a string of melodramas (at least in the early years).

I was pleasantly surprised by how charming this series is. The love story is very organic and the supporting characters are fun to watch. The plot is predictable at times but the way everything unfolded is very enjoyable to watch.

The Pros and Cons listed below are mildly spoiler-y (no names provided) but they do factor into what I liked/disliked about the show. The Cons list is quite subjective too - I suspect it has more to do with my sensitivities so these same things might not matter to another viewer.

PROS
The female lead is a delight. I particularly love how she behaves once she figures out she loves Yong Nam.
I like how they turned a female supporting character - who is suspiciously being positioned as a rival for our male lead's affections - into someone far nicer.
The ragtag team supporting Yong Nam is more capable than I thought they would be. I love them.

CONS
I'm not okay with a bit of the dialogue that our male lead says to his young male friend in an early episode about his view on women vs male friends.
I'm also not okay with how one of the main supporting characters flirts mildly with his ex-girlfriend without his wife's knowledge and the audience is supposed to find that acceptable.
There is a bit of torture that happens to a couple of characters midway through the series that seems to be played for laughs. It's not funny.

The cast in this was great, lots of famous faces. I was surprised to hear reggae (old school stuff though, Jimmy cliff). Nonetheless, it was nice. Went a little slow for my taste but I pulled through to watch it to the end though I haddddd to skip around. The beginning is a bit slow but it starts getting better. It was the reversal of Rich guy Poor girl which I love to see. So happy that we got to see Poor guy for a change and yes some cliches included for your viewing pleasure plus I think you would have already figured this out in the first episode on what's gonna happen. Nice ending and but not something I could watch again. Still enjoyed it though.

rating is skewed. Slow paced takes patience to enjoy. Dated definition of "manly"

This was one of the first K-dramas I ever watched and at the time the genre was unique to me & I said: "I love it, it's sweet & clean" ! Some years later I say: it's different than most the things I now gravitate towards & I'm not sure I have the patience to enjoy it again. It's slow paced with alot of employment union content. The minor character stuff takes up a bit of screen time and was uninteresting to me.
Male lead is very old school definition of "manly" (visually unpolished & bulky compared to Male leads in dramas today. He throws his weight around & is un refined. The kiss at the end is not very romantic & is not actually something you want to watch. If you want all your warm fuzzies intact I say :Stop watching after
airport kiss, because the rest is filler & will leave you with less of a euphoric high.

The female lead looked like she had lip injections.

Um Romance Clássico Entre Ambição e Amor

"Mr.
