While on a hunt for wild animals on the mountains, Wei WuXian finds an unconscious Song Lan. He brings the injured man back and Wen Qing heals him. Song Lan explains that Xue Yang has destroyed the Baixue Temple and poisoned his eyes to blind him. He then recalls to be looking for BaoShan SanRen with Xiao XingChen but is left on the mountain by himself. With this, Wei WuXian thinks of a way to convince Jiang Cheng to retrieve his Golden Core back. That night, Wei WuXian asks Wen Qing for sleeping powder. He and Jiang YanLi then enjoy Lotus Pork Rib Soup and reminiscence the time when Wei WuXian first arrived in the Lotus Pier. Then, Jiang YanLi is finally knocked out long enough for Song Lan to bring her to LanLing and regroup with Lan WangJi. The next day, Wei WuXian leads Jiang Cheng up the mountains to find BaoShan SanRen. With the strict conditions of not taking off his blindfold, Jiang Cheng manages to find the mysterious woman. He introduces himself as Wei WuXian as pre-planned and answers all her questions without failure before being led away.
At the same time, the other three great clans work together to take down the Wen sect, naming this movement "The Sunshot Campaign".

Jiang Cheng hasn't changed one bit in all these years, and Yanli is the glue that holds this family together.
It's not so much the stories you hear but the fact that you know they'll never experience this kind of joy ever again that just keeps on ripping your heart out.
The sacrifices that Wuxian continues to make over and over for the sake of his family is mind numbing. That he never seeks approval or appreciation, only just to be able to have his family safe and sound. He's even sacrifice being with them until the end if it means they're in a better place, no matter what dark, cold place he himself ends up in.
I know that Jiang Cheng's bad temper is all pretense, but I still can't help feeling like I eat a piece of fish and got a small bone stuck in my mouth. It's the acting on pretenses that has cased problems for all the elders of every clan. It's not like these dudes cannot see that themselves. That Jiang Cheng is fine just being the same always irks me to no end. He hurts especially bad knowing the things he's being given merely because he refuses to put down the pretenses in the first place. It just feels so beyond selfish, even if he doesn't understand completely just HOW selfish he is. !!!

Wen Qing agreed to help Wei Wuxian recover Jiang Cheng's golden core. Wei Wuxian put Jiang Yanli to sleep and sent her away, and gave Jiang Cheng instructions to go up the hill.
