Listen, there's no two ways about it, this show is utterly ridiculous. It's weird, it's cheesy, it doesn't make sense, it's cheap. And yet, I did have fun with it! I really wouldn't say that any aspect of it is truly good, but the characters are still very loveable, and there are nice heartwarming moments of friendship and a love. I laughed a lot too (though not always when I was meant to and often at the expense of the drama).
To be totally honest, I watched this because I had recently seen The Untamed and I wanted more Xiao Zhan and I wanted to watch a nice fantasy show. It became pretty apparent early on that this was not exactly what I was looking for, but I kept watching because I wanted to see how crazy it could get. The answer is: very. I don't regret watching it, but I will also never watch it again. Sadly, the ending felt unsatisfying and rushed, while the rest of the drama really took its time.
I'd recommend this drama if you're looking for something very light and funny you can watch to relax and turn your brain off, or if there's an actor or actress you know and love in it, but that's about it.

Lighter, funnier and cuter

As to the second half, season 2, it’s MUCH lighter and there are hardly any fight scenes. It really focuses on all relationships, there are many side relationships, maybe an additional three? So if you are interested in the cast and side characters, the second half / season will show you that.

I have mixed feelings on the second half of the series. I guess I wanted more drama and that’s very odd for me because I don’t like drama, I like low angst series. I do like that they changed up some costumes and so it was a little fresher.

Overall, if you like The Eternal series, 1, 2 and 3, it has the same look and feel of that drama with time traveling, comedy and funny FL leads that are from the modern times.

I think with this season 2 is enough to satisfy fans of Oh! My Emperor. I also really liked the plot from the previous season 1 to this season 2 even though there seems to be a sad plot but I like the ending of their love story even though it makes people wonder why but that's okay. This drama is good to rewatch again when relaxing. The OST of this drama is also good.
For the acting of the cast is no longer in doubt because this is their second drama project which makes them familiar and not so awkward anymore, plus the acting of the two main actors is very funny makes me interested in watching it again!

Combination Season 1 and 2

Like everyone else, I watched this for Xiao Zhan and Zhao LuSi. Wish Xiao Zhan was the leading man, he's so much better than Jason Koo in beauty, and acting skills. Why can we just talk about Xiao Zhan and Zhao Lusi than other cast members? Because they brought this story together...the rating might be different if these two as a couple (almost..dang it!) although the story was not interesting at all...with LuSI smile and Uncle Bei Tang MoRan charms...this drama was better. Why on earth the Emperor went to Maid's quarter so often just for Luo Fei Fei, when someone with highest respect and power - that person won't step in or too much bothered with Maid's issues . The rest of the cast members were more less desirable.

Xiao Zhan has the tendency to be stand out amongst actors. Like this drama, the Wolf, Joy of Life, he wasn't main Lead but we wish he was and could only imagine those dramas would turned up to better than original Male Leads (not JOL though, he was Yan BingYun). His collaboration with Zhao LuSi was actually more fitting, they both look the best of themselves, LuSi was cute and Xiao Zhan was a sweetheart. I didn't care so much about the story line, none made sense, just love to see these two and none others. 2 big stars born and Hope they'll be together again in the future drama...

Ending not really explained …

I liked season 1 but season 2 was dragging a bit…
It’s still silly and stupid funny but this season just kept on repeating the same type of humor over and over again. Then there were a lot of plots holes and characters that just never showed up again.
So the ending ok it was really cute but there’s no explanation what so ever. They showed a flashback of the FL seeing the same people in her world. But they seemed to have purposely set up what happened? I honestly have no clue how the ending even Happened. I mean otherwise it’s something to distract you.
They use a lot of puns and play on words in Chinese. I don’t think the subtitles really captured the jokes right a lot of times. The FL calls the emperor an asshole but in Chinese the literal translation is like king of eggs (sorta) then he’s like oh I’m more like a dragon so dragon egg came about.
I loved the OST. It’s great when the actors themselves sing the songs that’s playing during their scene. It’s not anything fancy but it’s a cute soundtrack.
The FL zhao lusi I’ve noticed is either a hit or miss with people. She can be really cute but I can see how it can be annoying to a lot of people. She over do it a bit in this too.
Episodes were half an hour but 6 mins wasted on credits and intro. Then literally a min of the last episodes end scenes. I guess it’s a smart way for them to make more money. Break it up Into more episodes, add in double the amount of advertisements in between, have more viewers etc. But still it was annoying.
Again low budget literally one or two outfits per character throughout the entire show.
Then
I hate when characters in fantasy shows have powers and then never use them when they actually need it… I guess bai mo ran can only foresee the future once in his life lol. Then speedy kid isn’t fast enough to escape at the end, telekinesis can do blood transfers but nothing to help with fighting. And if FL passive power is to absorb/stop others powers how come they were able to use it after finding out?? I dunno

This is not a polished series. There are heavy flaws and the audio/editing teams are a big reason for this. We have sentences where there random volume changes that breaks the flow (think: "heLLO my name IS JACKson"). The fight scenes are reduced to trash because of there's slashing when there is no slashing in scene; mellow background music when it should be intense). I get that this is a webseries, but there really should be no way for them to mess up this badly. They did not do any of our XNINE boys justice. The editing/audio completely ruined this series and I had to watch it without audio in order to really see that the actors/actresses did well. The main cast is made up of actors/actresses who have little experience in the industry and honestly the editing team really made them look terribly the first couple of episodes (before I noticed).

Oh my emperor
