Best Body Swap Story
ML and FL swap bodies and get to know each other better. Although the ML had concubines he didn't spend time with them, I only liked that one concubine who was a foodie. She didn't have a bad side and never engaged in the fight for Your Majesty's love. Overall, a funny, romantic, and engaging drama. Was this review helpful to you?

My Dream came True!!
I have always had a fantasy of going back in time to ancient china and this drama is basically it. The MC travels back in time and being a scientist he is pushed into murder investigation and becomes a target of the hidden enemy who wants to overthrow the emperor. It is full of fun and romance and I implore you to try the first season and if you like it you are in for a fun ride all through season 3. I am hoping for season 4 but seeing how old this is I don't see it happening. He ends up with 4 wives and they all live good without fighting like you see in the imperial harem. Was this review helpful to you?

After finishing, it felt unreal. Instant regret
It sort of felt like a cheap knock off of My demon. I was expecting more happy ending instead of open ending. The concept of killing bad guy out of court has been done in so many dramas namely "Lucifer". For those who haven't heard of this masterpiece I feel bad. It's An American drama which is 100x better than whatever the hell this crap shit was.Was this review helpful to you?

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
In the beginning I was skeptical and per my my policy I watched a few more than all of a sudden I was half way through and than the end. I truly fell in love with the story and after watching "The Untamed" and " NIF 1" both of which I loved dearly. Only thing I wished I could have seen is the ML having a family of his own and teaching his kid martial art in a nice small house with beautiful scenery in the back. I hope a second season is produced where we see his child and Fang Duo Bing fighting together solving mystery and stuff. Was this review helpful to you?
A Heartwarming Gem for the Whole Family
This show was an absolute delight—perfect for family viewing. What stood out most was how naturally it embraced the concept of two men raising a daughter, without turning it into a spectacle. It reminded me of Modern Family in the best way possible: warm, funny, and refreshingly inclusive.Though I usually steer clear of BL dramas, this one felt different. The Fang family completely stole the spotlight—they were the emotional core and comedic charm rolled into one. Honestly, without them, the show would've felt flat.
The kids were adorable, and I appreciated how each character, young and old, had their own story arc and personal depth. I was hoping Wendi might get a younger sibling, and while that didn’t happen exactly, she did end up with something close, which was satisfying in its own way.
What I loved most was the simplicity and sincerity of the plot. No toxic drama, no scheming villains—just a smooth, heartfelt narrative that focused on love, growth, and connection. A rare find these days.

Sherlock Holmes type of story
I enjoyed the flow of the storyline. It was light without heavy dark investigation. It captured my attention and I laughed and rooted for the first and second couple. It was clear from the beginning who the villain was so that helped with the suspense. The ending wrapped well. I wish they make a season 2.Was this review helpful to you?
Damn worth it!
I don't like writing reviews but I do so to show appreciation to everyone involved in this project. It was a delight. I loved the ending and wished we could see more of that scene. I loved how they bickered; their romance was off the chart. The way the emperor treated his brother was something you never see in other dramas, where it's always them fighting for the throne. You can read reviews left by others as they have added more details. Was this review helpful to you?

A bundle of Joy
I liked that this one did not have backstabbing and betrayal by family members. I felt there might be the typical cousin lover fight but there wasn't and the Cheng Family were very good to each other and entertaining to watch. I was damn impressed with Old lady Cheng, she cracked me up each time :) and there was a lot of cunning schemes and revenge done by the FL which gave me story of minglan vibe and the ML quest to uncover the truth of his _____ death was a long journey of 15 yrs it reminded me of yanxi palace in which FL goes from simple servant in the palace to imperial consort with tons of scheming to finally avenge her sisters rape and murder. Overall it's a good watch the only thing I felt it missed was not seeing them having a family of their own. A scene of them living Shang's dream of simple village kinda life or maybe a scene of Qiqi and Song's kids playing around with their Uncle Zisheng (ML). Ah it would have been a perfect ending. We also missed out on their wedding and the rest of the siblings. Those scenes would have made this the best of the best drama IMO.Was this review helpful to you?

A sweet journey of FL from Concubine to Wife
I am quite impressed with the story as there were a couple of things I didn't expect which happened and vice versa. The story is not about revenge and does not have story of minglan kinda angst. We have the ML and FL bonding after marriage slowly, the ML was respectful and didn't consumate the marriage at any point in time (after 2+yr). He had to marry the princess of JIN state by imperial pressure. I was really happy to see a character like the princess who was selfless she genuinely cared about the FL and helped her become mature and educated her in running household and business.
The supporting characters like hao jie (FL bf) was really good. I was expecting the betrayal arc to be present but surprisingly it was better instead of backstabbing and jealousy they discussed the issues with each other and provided the necessary support.
As every drama requires a villain in this one it was the Crown prince, who was truly despicable and his tail the fourth prince who did some bad shit but mended and came around in the end. So we can say the bad were punished unlike in other dramas they are just forgiven as if nothing happened.
What more can I say? I feel I have said enough to convince you all to give this one a shot.

Really great!
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this drama. No regrets! It was cute and fluffy, with no angst. The male lead was really thoughtful, helping the female lead grow into an independent and successful woman by showering her with wisdom and love. I discovered this while watching "The Story of Minglan," which features the same female lead. Her acting was so good, but I got stuck in a rut, so I looked up her previous works and found this one. I have to say, I felt 33 episodes were not enough. I would have loved to see them have a family of their own and go on a picnic with their little one and the male lead's sister's son as well, the whole family together having fun in the end. What an ending that would have been! Was this review helpful to you?
Lusi carried the show with her acting ?
Other reviewers have covered the show in detail. I just want to add that while the story is not a masterpiece or comparable to any of the other time travel/different world shows that I have seen, it stands out as a good and relaxing watch because of Zhao Lusi. The reason is her acting. The way she acts silly, cute, and her random acts of foolery make the show enjoyable. It's really funny to watch her befriend prison guards and that donkey scenes 😂Was this review helpful to you?

A must watch if you liked JOL
I don't write reviews often, unless a show was really good. For details please read below review written by peach blossom https://kisskh.at/profile/PeachBlossomGoddess/review/185693
The show often times feels like JOY and Blood of Youth I think, with similar names of city and mini stories like the wudang Mt disciples love story with the male leads sister.
The smart emperor in JOL is like xu Xiao lord of North Liang in this show.
Think of it as a complication of top wuxia dramas Brought together to create this masterpiece.
Looking forward to season 2
