Want to know where such a cute story came from? Hana Yori Dango is the original live action adaptation of the manga written by Kamio Yoko. It may be slightly older, but this Japanese predecessor has everything you loved about the Korean version, mixed in with it's own charm.

They are Japanese and Chinese version of the same series, despite some differences. I prefer this 2009 version rather than 2018 one. It's more emotional, more invested in growth about the characters and more intriguing.

They both based on the same manga called Hana Yori Dango, and that the live action of Hana Yori Dango and Meteor Garden 2001 are the most beloved adaptations of the manga.
It's just that the story of the live action version of Hana Yori Dango (2005) doesn't really same as the comic, I think some of the characters have the same vibes as in the manga better than the other version. For example, the Makino Tsukushi

It's the Taiwanese version of HYD. Not as good but if you want to watch every version of this show then this is a must!

Both are love triangles and the main female character is strong in both dramas. Though Hana Yori Dango is a school drama, Queen of SOP is similar to it with a good guy vs bad boy thing. In both dramas the main couple has to overcome a lot of obstacles in their relationship to stay together. However, both have different endings.

The heroine transfers to prodigious schools keeping their poor family standing a secret, but still end up being a victim of school bullying and alienation; because of her actions, she gained the attention of a lot of people around her. There are love triangles in both, but very decisive romance. Her love life take up more of the heroine's time rather than her friendship.

Both series are adaptation of a Japanese comic called Hana York Dango written by Kamio Yoko. They both have attractive main casts(Tsukushi and F4).

Both Dramas have storylines who are pretty simmilar. The male leads are both Guys with rough personalities who come from rich families. Both male leads are Heirs to their family company. As the shows progresses the stories come to be about forbidden love between a rich male and a poor female.

**Story takes place one month before the movie.”** Akahane Yu moves to a dormitory room after her father's transfer at work. She and Haruto aka "Black Devil" have the worst meeting. Since then, Haruto treats her like his slave. The only person who is kind to her is Takumi aka "White Prince”. Haruto orders Yu to go to her middle school reunion, but Yu, who doesn't want to remember her middle school days, refuses. At this time, Suzune appears. She is a childhood friend of both Haruto and Takumi. Due to her, the relationship between Yu, Haruto and Takumi changes.

It’s is also a story where the guy is constantly mean to the girl he likes . Full of comedy and awkward situations

First of all they're both remakes and hana yori dango is one of the best remakes of meteor garden. Not only that but Hana Yori Dango is also very long and fun to watch. Though the storyline for Hana Yori Dango is way better.
Both have
-Mothers who don't want their sons to get married to poor girls but in the end they fail to do this
-Four cute guys who happened to be best friends since they were young and are still together till college or high school
-And lastly a great love story between the two main leads

In both Dramas we have a strong-minded/quick-to-fight, main female lead, and a rich/bratty/stubborn/childish male lead.
The differences between those two dramas, is that in Promise Cinderella, there is a 10 years age difference between the main leads; while in Hana Yori Dango all the characters had the same age.
Excluding the age difference, everything else is the same.
Promise Cinderella it's a fun thing to watch if you want to see sth at the end of the day, but you can't take it 100% seriously.

If you loved Oguri Shun in Hana Yori Dango, a natural progression is Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. Hana Kimi has a much lighter and quirky tone, but jdrama is by far my favorite adaption. Yes, I have watched the Taiwanese and Korean Dramas. Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma and Horikita Maki make up a strong center cast! Ikuta steals the lime light!

Similarities:
- Their relation changes through story: from enemies to lovers
- Rich guy / poor girl relationship
- Guy is spoiled but he changes and becomes a better person because of the girl
- Girl is kind, helpful and tough, she doesn't give up easly
- I kinda feel that DDYD is next adaptation of original story presented in HYD based on manga/anime
- School / romance / comedy
