I really have NO problems with complicated family trees - those who do might not like this. Also it IS a melodrama so if that bothers you don't watch this LOL
I say hats off to the Thai director/producers - I did not realize until half-way thru the drama that ALL the grandsons are actually members of a Thai Pop group (9x9)!!!! That says a lot about their acting talent overall in fact. I know one of them was in Love Sick so is a proven actor, but all of them did splendidly :D

WOW
I didn't feel like watching it at first cuz it was about a family matter (based on the poster), but then I tried to give it a shot. The more episodes you watch, the more you feel curious about what will be happened next.
At first, you would be like "Oh.. yep.. he's the one" but then "Oh.. so it's her?" but then "Wait, what?" lol
The dramatic background music was really helpful you know... the suspense feeling, the twisty plot...
All the actors really did a great job portraying each character.
It was a really an interesting drama.
Worth watching.

I am impressed
I don't have high expectation when I watched this since the start is slightly slow but the suspense and the plot kept me wanting for more and I ended up watching everything without skipping any details. 9 by 9 did great in this lakorn. They are much better in this than in Great Men Academy. You cant help but to guess along the way who is the killer and what is the motive. There're a lot of questions in the first episode and everything will come to light by the end of the lakorn.
The creepy cousin deserve to rot in prison for his spying cam. It's very disturbing especially since they are family. All of them cousins are crazy except for Kuaitiao. The 1st generation (grandparents) are to be blamed for teaching them such a wayward and orthodox belief that ended up breaking the family apart. Meimei tried to safe his father by framing others and Vegas tried to cover it up.
The only good characters are definitely Chi and his mother. I can't say that I fully support what Yi did but I guess he did what he had to do since the polices did almost nothing in finding the murder and he also wanted to safe his brother. However, what he did is also manipulative and dangerous. Luckily he didn't use a real pistol or else he would also be the same as the murderer and the 2nd generations of his family (uncles, aunts).

WTF was that?
I left this drama unsatisfied. 18 episodes and every single one lacked depth. The mystery was well done but don't depend on the revenge. All forgiveness around these corners. If you want to leave this drama feeling happy go right ahead and skip. Nothing about this ended properly. It went from murder mystery to straight garbage. As a viewer you know who the culprit is from episode 11, I will not reveal but it's obvious who it is from around episode 5. The people I felt deserved the most was Yi, Pim and Mate. Put me in handcuffs but none of them deserved the way they were treated and then discarded as an afterthought. Left a sour after taste in the back of your throat. The one person I trusted was Yi and he was the only one who deserved a thank you. If it wasn't for him, this entire story would have gone sideways. It's just a shame that everyone thought he was wrong for his actions. He looked out for his baby brother and his family, and the writer decided it was the wrong steps. Then there are the characters who had an active role in some of the most horrifying things.
Everyone got a slap on the wrist except the good guy who was shunned. How can I feel comfort with this and then for them to all sit around one table and eat together just felt so disjointed from the plot. It's comparable to if a dog started mewing like a cat. I think it was going somewhere until episode 10 and then just went down.
I'm not sure how this is so highly rated maybe because of all the A list actors but nothing can fix those last 4 episodes. I'm being generous with my rating, but I hope I never encounter a drama like this again in my life. Too much time wasted to regret.

Humans are divided by the percentage of melanin but are united by the same tragic sagas.
Should I say Asians? Damn! Watching this drama is like watching by very own family saga (no murder yet!). The favoritism of boys and neglecting girls, that apt special attention, the inheritance issues… they happen around us almost everyday. The story can’t get real than this. Writers did a great job. They explored each and every emotion of the characters very well. So it might be a bit slow for a few. Once you hit that play button it’ll be hard to pause this. This is truly a binge watch.Thanapob Lee! What an actor he is. Give him any character he’s gonna live it fr. Everyone did a great job portraying complex emotions. My only problem is with the actress’s blinking who portrayed Kim. Idk if I’m abnormal or her blinking is anyway it really distracted me.
Music really suited the drama. Background music is so good I even got goosebumps in some scenes.
My specs broke before I started this but that couldn’t stop me from watching this amazing drama. Torturing my eyes is really worth it. I’m definitely gonna rewatch this not only for the missed blurry details but the amazing story.
This one really is a quality drama which is somewhat rare to find in the pool of routine romances. Gonna recommend this first from now. This is criminally underrated.

When chickens come home to roost - big time!
Who killed the heir of a powerful family in Thailand? In this case we have a Sino-Thai family with links to the hotel world and police. Little by little suspects with different motives and weird or no alibis show up.The murderer is revealed towards the end.
Though wait: it isn't over. The dynamic of the killing and the reason behind only emerges at the very end, and with the reason emerges much more "dirt", as well as redeeming stuff.
Interesting insight into infighting in a powerful family, where you might guess ahead of time some of the elements going on, but never everything. Worth watching. Highly recomended.

Most Thai series I watch are BL but I'm so thankful I made an exception
IFWT is a classic whodunnit murder mystery with profoundly tragic undertones. You can expect a highly compelling narrative arc, with twists and turns that will keep you engaged throughout. Every step closer to solving the mystery comes with dark secrets being unravelled, threatening to destroy the harmony of existing relationships. While social media and public scrutiny can be brutal, what is more frightening are the secrets that push people over the edge to do terrible, terrible things. And the most frightening of all is having to spend every waking day living with the consequences.
The idea of consequence is salient in IFWT, with pertinent questions on moral responsibility being raised. There are simply no straightforward right answers in this series. Every character is marvellously flawed in their own way and often, what appears to be seemingly irrational behaviour driven by instincts ends up perfectly relatable, even if questionable.
Apart from excellent writing, stellar acting also carries the story through most of the crucial scenes where emotional depth and complexity is required.

Meh
This series is really slow, not just the story but also the scenes. The first few episodes made me sleep. Watched because of the ratings but I guess this show is overrated. The lines that are actually unecessary are way too long. It's difficult to finish. Disappointing. This series is really slow, not just the story but also the scenes.
Altamente recomendada! Was this review helpful to you?
