Naoki gets angry at Kotoko when the school find out they are living together, especially when Kinnosuke punches him, this upsets Kotoko making her feel she is causing trouble for him. As the school's relay race is coming up, Kotoko and her class are determined to give it their all, which Naoki and class A scoff at. This causes Kotoko to make a bet with Naoki on that either gets one request if their class wins, he takes the opportunity to get her to leave his house. During a training sessions Kotoko saves Yuki, Naoki's younger brother, from getting hit by an bicycler but injures her ankle. This results in her doing poorly in the race and costs her team the lead, and Naoki ends up winning. On their way home when she admits her defeat to Naoki she ends up collapsing but he catches her and hurt his arm. Though she is happy that he carried her home and allowed her to stay even though she lost, she becomes troubled to learn about Naoki\s injuries and how he was unable to participate in the basketball nationals because of it.
