boring.
i loved how it started, but it kind of got a bit monotonous in the middle. i loved the second leads ~ they had a much more interesting story arc than the main leads. i skipped a lot of scenes because of the banality, but having said that - i think lee jong suk was really good in this role. i would love to see more of him in the future. it would be an added bonus if you love to read ( i do), for others it might get a bit incomprehensible to understand the subtle undertones on the love for books. even though the show is miss-able imo, but the first 2/3 episodes are worth trying. if you don't like them, then sorry to tell you but it won't be getting any better. Was this review helpful to you?

was it good?
all the character in the show was very cute including their stories too are well developed.although the show mainly focuses on the main leads it's kind of also focused on the side characters too and on their conflict too.I liked both the main leads and the side characters personality and stories.the side characters are the comic relief when something depressing or sad happens in the show . i also like the fact that there where shipping the CEO Kim Jae Min [President of Gyeoroo] (Kim Tae Woo) with Go Yoo Sun [Director of Gyeoroo] (Kim Yoo Mi) they do make a cute couple along withPark Hoon [Marketing team] (Kang Gi Doong) and Oh Ji Yul [Editorial team] (Park Gyu Young) these 2 were by far my favorite especially when anyone shout at them they kinda reminds me of a scared little cat that's just adorable. This show was satisfying to watch and it was also cute and yes the chemistry between the ML and FL are there.

SIMPLY DUMBSTRUCK!!!!!
I simply don't have words to express what I felt when I went through this dramathis is something else
I never expected that I would like this drama to this extent
from a surface it looks like a very fluffy light hearted bookish drama but it's way more than that
it is way more deeper than that
first of all hats off to the writer who wrote so much of books references
if you are a book lover then this is your ultimate favourite drama
every character was played so so so well
every character had such a beautiful back story with that struggling with their day to day life
the male lead suffers from a burden for keeping a secret for 10 years long
the female lead is suffering to meet her ends and earn money for her child and to deal with the depression of getting divorce
the founders of the publication company total in five
they also have their own back story and simply the office is so beautifully done
the office scenes
how everything proceeds so nicely
the second male lead and second female lead are completely non-toxic
this is what I always want
non-toxic second leads to do not hinder in in the lives of the leads
to support them love them dearly and being
selfless
among the five founders the head is a single father and he deals with all the pressure of meeting deadlines and balancing different personalities in the same company
the director of the company who is a female is a single woman working for her career she is shown a very strong side
she balance the office quirkyness with her sternness
she shows that she is fine but she never shows that she is lonely and needs someone
she cares for people from the backstage
never let shit shown on her face
the second female member of the publication group who is the very sweet lady and she is dealing with her own family problems
the male lead is also the member of the publication group
there is one more male member who is very kind hearted and passionate about the new writers or the authors who are not getting published
all of them are very sweet you will love them you will root for them
there is second female lead who is selfless hardworking and very cute
second male lead you will root for him and he is so kind loving and handsome
What I love the most
number 1
the book references and deep knowledge about the Korean literature
different quotes stated from the books and the bookish aesthetic theme
number 2
it is very detailed drama
it deals with many issue faced by publication companies such as books not being able to sold as much as expected plagiarism authors cancel their contract mistakes and typos in edits and a lot more
Number 3
It taught about things like
How a book is actually printed
first it is edited then checked again and again by the founders
proofreading
press release
accurate bio of the author
assigning book designer for book cover
Book marketing strategy
The painful scene of shredding the non sold books
Number 4
The romance is very bookish
They give such beautiful metaphor out of books
Romance is very simple heartwarming and perfect
Many heart fluttering moments
The dialogues are very witty
I started writing this as soon as I completed the drama...
Unfortunately It did not get save and it was deleted but I could not refrain from writing it again I know that may be it won't be read by anyone but I really want to shout out what I felt
This is the drama for everyone but if you are a reader...
No drama will surpass this!!!!watch it please..I beg you

I actually really really loved this show. I am not a big Lee Jong Suk fan, but I think some of the projects he chooses are really good! He's really talented at choosing projects - W, Pinocchio, I Hear Your Voice.
I enjoyed every aspect of this show from the "mystery" to the friends to lovers. I'm glad the two "sons" found each other. I wish they would have met earlier.
I wish there was a season 2 where their story would be explored further. There is so much more of a story to be told.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN STORY
when I normally watch shows, I normally binge-watch them but something about this show made me take it easy also maybe the fact that I had work and school at the same time. Here is my take on the show:- everyone is like a book you might think you have read it but when you go over it again you realize that you might have missed some lines.
- do not be scared to explore new books, take your time till you find the one that is meant for you.
- everyone has their own story and everyone is a different story. enjoy each one you get a chance to read.
- not all books are meant for everyone so do not be angry that no one whats your book as your book is not meant for them.
- the cover of every book is just as important as the content so always take care of your books.
- no book is worthless as they all have value as we need to learn how to value every book even though they are not ours.
- we might not know where we want our stories to end or sometimes the journey might not turn out the way we wanted. Do not be taken aback by this but continue to write your story for you would make it out of your tunnel and find your ending.
I hope you all enjoyed this show the same way I did
"THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL" till next time.

I really liked this series, as for me it was a big step out of what I usually go for- not a melodrama nor lots of twists and turns. In all, it had really great pacing and honestly three reasons made me go for this: Lee Jong Suk, the background of books and how it ties into everything, and the single camera work. I was very interested to see how a series using single camera filming would look and I think the director made really good use of everything they had.THE STORY
I really enjoyed how it was a simple office comedy, with some established mysteries and nuanced characters. Most of the characters went through a lot of growth, and it was nice seeing leads and their seconds leads that weren't "too" perfect or messed up. I enjoyed the relationship dynamics between the two leads, and the change in how they realized the extent of their feelings. They had such a healthy relationship and were there for each other in thick and thin. I also appreciated that there wasn't a breakup from misunderstandings that led them apart- they knew each other for a long time and their relationship transition reflected that. They respected each other to not try and solve each others' problems, but rather lend small helping hands and a shoulder to lean on. They kept their intimacy while keeping their individuality. I found it pleasantly surprising that they managed to keep their relationship and living situation a secret from almost all of the office until the last episode- though I wish the reveal was a little better hehe. I don't have much to say about the story from how I really appreciated the pacing and the storytelling seeming so simple yet so important. The transition in relationship between Seo Joon and Hae Rin was believable and pretty and I enjoyed how their chemistry was shown together and the difference between how they treated each other to realizing they valued each other as more than friends- it was very natural. A few things that could have been done better though was Dan Yi's daughter- she kind of disappeared from the plot and I wished she would have been more integrated. Secondly, the story between Byung Jun and Eun Ho was good for the plot, but I wished that they showed a bit of their memories together earlier, because I couldn't feel much for the dying writer when he was lying there.
Just a personal note: Eun Ho's love for Dan Yi was so pure and you could tell these two were soulmates from their interactions of them being each others' home. I also found it so cute and smooth that he would always be confessing his love for her even when she didn't realize it. I loved the conversations that they had that urged them to think- especially when Dan Yi is sorting out her feelings and Eun Ho basically told her she was professing her love there and then.
THE CAST
I think the cast was well-casted and they really reflected their characters very well. I don't have much to say because I thoroughly enjoyed their portrayals. As usual, I'm a LJS fan and I felt that his EunHo was so alive and real, and him and Na Young had great chemistry! I appreciated how Ha Joon was able to portray Seo Joon as well- how he can show his attraction for Dan Yi but also show that there wasn't much chemistry between them compared to how he seemed friendly towards Hae Rin but had such great chemistry! This is the first main role I've seen Ha Joon do and I'm really glad he got this role because his Seo Joon was perfect and loveable.
MUSIC
I don't have much to say about the music- because it was really relaxing and brings a smile to my face. It's the type of music that I first hear and I'm like "it's good" (with a shrug) but as I hear it more I like it more and more. I think what made me give a higher rating for music was how well it was integrated and helped reflect the mood perfectly. The music in general was well-made and to my personal taste- I really enjoyed the piano background songs. My favourite OSTs would definitely be Take My Hand by Jannabi and SOMEDAY by The Black Shirts.
REWATCH VALUE
A nine for me! Not much else to say, I loved this story and the themes and motifs a lot :) Good for easygoing days and when I don't want to think too much about an overcomplicated plot.
CONCEPTS
The mini monologues at the end of Eun Ho and Dan Yi's thoughts at the end of episodes really helped the nostalgic and thoughtful feelings of the plot and the motif of books was well integrated to the point of it enhancing the plot a lot and not being overused. I really enjoyed the aspect of how books were integrated, especially the "moon is beautiful" words and the scene in the theatre when they were practically writing a letter to each other. I think the story in general had a lot of meaningful messages that will stay with me for a while.
CONCLUSION
I'm starting to enjoy these more "indie" projects that I'm finding that seem to be the trend nowadays with popular actors. I'm really glad I started this series and it left me with a lot of satisfaction. It's not perfect, but it had a wonderful message and the storytelling paced very well and thoughtfully that all the messages came out. I appreciated the fact that nothing seemed overly rushed or glossed over and the videographer also did a very good job in the scenes that they captured.

IT'S UNDERRATED , PLZ WATCH IF YOU ARE HAVING A HARD TIME AS AN ADULT
starting a new year with this drama is so good. Every character had their struggles and stories. dani struggling to get a job , not giving up , it was sad to watch how society doesn’t accept us when we are around 30-40 , it’s not “old” . we still can utilize this time . eunho’s character was such a comfort , it made me realize that you need someone to cheer you up , doesn’t matter even if it’s a one person .I loved Wi ha joon’s , even though he is a very famous actor , this was my first time seeing him in a role and i think the role suited him the very best. every character is previous to me :( it was such a great time to have y’all here . I am closing the book too but it will remain in my heart and whenever i feel sad , i will open it for comfort . the ending note made me teared up :(Was this review helpful to you?

This drama takes us on a trip to the books' world and the publishing industry and all the hardwork and dedication that gets put in it as long as all the love and effort that gets poured into creating every single book and its publication. This beautiful show taught me a lot of valuable things i didn't know i wanted and needed to know.
From now on i will treasure books even more after this original, insightful dive into the inspiring literature world.
All in all i absolutely recommend you to watch it and not let the first few episodes or the title fool you into thinking it's just a simple cheesy romance like many others, after all we shouldn't judge a book by its cover ;)

Great Story
Well this is like my 5th time watching this series. The main actors have great chemistry and the secondary plots are very well interwoven together. After my 5th time it's still one of my most favorite series to watch. Nothing's perfect but this is one of the closet stories I've watched that came very close. The struggle of getting a job and feeling useful is real. I guess any cultural has some of the same pitfalls. But it seemed like they did bring up some real issues but essentially swept right pass them and made them seem acceptable. That is probably the largest single flaw to this series. Another company sharing something they should not have is wrong in any culture especially after that character already had issues with putting time in for a job. Another problem is making someone the scapegoat and lying but then basically getting away with it and the people in charge allowing. That should have just as severe consequences as well. Other than this one particular story thread the rest of the story is very well done and is hugely enjoyable. Even though the ending ends up great it seems somewhat tainted because of this minor but big social problem that they put into the story but sort of glossed over it in the end. Then again I get the feeling that it happens every where in the world and not just in Korea. Was this review helpful to you?
