As of 6 episodes

I genuinely want this drama to end on good note .It's not that i'm loving this drama to the core but there 's something about that backstory that's making me root for this drama .I am looking forward to the historic tale in the elisode thaat's gonna release today .I hope it'll make it up . I'm repeating I just want this drama to have a satisfactory end please 😭.
Note: The modern story is so uninteresting btw .but it's forgivable as it's a setup for the upcoming episodes . and also want to appreciate the leading lady who is elevating the drama with her acting so well

Not interesting drama

This storyline isn't that great. With a great actor who had really fantastic act especially in The Forbidden Marriage and with an actress who dosen't fit to be main actress. She is good as a servant in historical drama. This drama dosent suit her at all, and I think wrong choice as she wont be a good main actress now and the future . it spoilt the whole drama when you had a great actor . Sometimes if an actor/actress who are not that great in acting they will spoil the whole drama. Not every actor/actress are good. Hoping they select better actor/ actress for all dramas. It may spoil the whole story if they do not choose the correct one

Moon in the day!! So good

The chemistry is too goo. I love the actress. She carried her role so particularly. Especially her Han Rita role. I loved the male lead too. The ending was very realistic and unique. The director did an excellent job. The whole cinematography, the scenes, everything looked perfect. It’s not a comedy drama which is why I don’t see myself rewatching it because I only rewatch comedy dramas or movies. I am looking forward to Pyo Yejin’s future works. I have so many favourite scenes. There were moments I got literal butterflies.

Pleasantly Surprised

I liked this drama much more than I expected to. The acting was very good and I appreciated the efforts of the actors and writers in bringing a good production to television.

A pretty firefighter gets tangled with a famous celebrity when she saves him during a car accident. Unfortunately, he isn't all that he seems. Our FL is suffering from dreams of having lived a past life which have been troubling her, only to intensify when she meets the young celebrity.

The writers set this drama in the present but it also has backstories dating back to hundreds of years. Those costume scenes are some of the most sizzling and intense portions of the drama and it almost overtakes the storyline in the present. In the past, the young handsome nobleman must show a dangerous and unyielding personality to his household. But underneath, he is gentle and passionate, particularly when a young woman catches his eye. He exudes an intensity that took my breath away. Kudos to our ML for the great work in bringing his character to life. The young woman has a tragic secret and has sworn to take revenge on those who have destroyed her happiness. She becomes both a blessing and a bane to our young nobleman.

Fast forward to the present and the unfinished business of the past comes to light between the two present day leads. Revenge is at the top of their list, but will it give way to the other intense feelings carried with them over the centuries? Will anger threaten to destroy them, or will it give way to love?

I was very impressed with this drama and will look out for more dramas by the same writers. It has a nice soundtrack, too.

It's not as bad as what others seem to project based on my preferences

I stayed away from the drama because of the first cover photo but I did start watching the drama about 4 or 6 episodes already out. The story is pretty good in my opinion. It has the fantasy genre but I liked it more than I thought I would because I already had quite low expectations to the drama in the first place. I really felt the emotions, and the love between the leads.

The actors and actresses in the drama are great. I love them all, my favorite would be Pyo Ye Jin as Young Hwa the female lead. She is really great and she delivered her role so well. Kim Young Dae on the other hand, is quite familiar or I guess he always chose the same roles but it's fine with me.

I did understand the ending, so I liked it but I was hoping for something different but I'm fine with it. I did cry in the last episode. My journey watching this drama ongoing is great.

Need a happy ending.. ㅠㅠ

I've loved this show from the start....I'm soooooooooooo into stories like this, but I fear sad/tragic endings....YoungDae did an amazing job whilst playing Han JunO...I do agree that this drama didn't have the greatest chemistry but it wasn't THAT bad....I hope the last two episodes show us more passionate side of our FL....
Overall, it was a very well written story, the present to past ratio of the scenes was also good....
Do I highly recommend watching it? Well, I can only answer that after watching the last two episodes....Hahahahahahhahahahahaha..

Loads of love for the cast...♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

ITS NOT THAT BAD

the first thing we gonna look before watch was the reviews, right? so im reviews this drama and why do I think its not that bad like the other reviews.

first, the most important thing for me is the story, and this drama story was so good like u gonna think maybe if it's another artist it can be more popular. imo why some people feel bored bcs the cast cannot hit the spot.

the cast all were so pretty but i got a little frustrated bcs their emotions cannt be well given to me, I cried only on the last episode even tho im claiming myself as cry baby.

but we could just enjoy cus it's not that bad or shows that many flaws tho, u could still enjoy the comedy, sad or happy moment in this drama! just give it a chance!

An awesome premise, with a heavily mediocre execution

I think this drama, is probably the definition of mid (not necessarily in a bad way) of kdramas. Let's start by saying that the premise was incredible, and I really loved the idea of the whole revenge of the fated lovers. One of the strongest aspect of this drama was definitely the past storyline, and I WISH that the drama dared to explore the past relationship in a much larger scale. I felt the modern storyline was too imbalanced when it came to quality. In the early stages of the drama, I found myself constantly waiting for the drama to show me more of the past storyline, than focus on the main one instead. I think mostly it was due to the combination of the lack of chemistry of the main leads, which is funny because I did not feel this way when I watched the past storyline, and the overall lack of meaningful interactions that they had. Now when it came to the acting, I felt like, the main leads were a bit lackluster, but most of the time it felt like because they were not comfortable with each other, however out of the two I do feel like Kim Young-dae was probably the weaker one. Whenever he was on screen, I felt like he was just not expressing any or the right emotions that were needed for the specific scenes. I have seen people share this opinion aswell, and I've also seen people defending it as "Do Ha was just that sort of a character, It's not the actors fault," but I strongly disagree, I wanted to see his burning rage that he has been keeping in for 1500 years, but I feel like we had none of that. I swear I'm not coming for the actor because I know that he can do better, because I loved him in the Forbidden Marriage, however even in this one, he was great at displaying raw emotions, so I give him credit for that. The female leads acting was pretty decent, nothing extraordinary, but I just liked it nonetheless. What I have a problem with is her character. I feel like the writers intended her to become a strong, independent character, but they just lost the plot halfway with that one aswell, and during the second half of the drama, whenever a conflict arrived, her actions always seemed out of character, just because of how she was portrayed at the early stages of the drama. Now when it came to the story, I think this one was the weakest element of the drama. I have noticed that there were even a few sort of plotholes in this one, like Do Ha using Han Jun Oh's memories to his advantage at the beginning, but during the middle, he kind of completely forgot about that, and that's why he was exposed to Han Jun Oh's brother, towards the end we kind of got a sloppy explanation, that Do Ha didn't want to look inside Han Jun Oh's memories, because it felt like he was disturbing his privacy, which was so out of character of him. Also the fact that Han Jun Oh's brother first thought that the spirit who possessed Han Jun Oh was Koo Tae Ju, but the events literally don't add up. I also didn't like how there was nothing systematic, about the spirits and their powers. Do Ha could flicker lights, and have a bit of superhuman strenghts, but that's it, while his father could do the same, AND corrupt people. I would've appreciated an explanation, or how or why the spirits were different. However despite this, I started to enjoy my time around the second half of the drama. The pace started to pick up, it felt like the actors were more comfortable with each other and not just for plot reasons, it felt like the characters started to go through developments, and I did quite enjoy it, I was also really curious about how the story was gonna fold out, even though, I knew that the ending was bittersweet, (and suprisingly I didn't really cry, but it was quite devastating), but I think that the ending was perfectly bittersweet for this one, I kind of secretly were hoping that Han Jun Oh and Kang Yeong Hwa would end up together, even though it wouldn't have made a lot of sense but oh well. Overall, despite a few problems with the writing, and a lot more with the story, I still did enjoy my time with the drama, and I don't regret watching it at all. At the end I felt like, if this drama recieved the Alchemy of Souls treatment, of having two parts (the first part being the past storyline extended, and the second would be the modern storyline) it would've been a lot more better, and meaningful. I still recommend this drama for people who find the premise interesting, and want to watch a melodramatic (but mediocre), drama, with a tragic storyline, If you like all of these, then despite the drama's faults, I don't think your time would be wasted.

Not completely horrible but not great either

Even good actors and an interesting plot idea couldn't save the drama. It had all the right tools but no oomph.

Han Ri Ta and Do Ha were the most boring two characters. I get that Do Ha was supposed to be a sad person who just wanted to die, but in the very least the writers could've given him a personality and more facial expressions. Han Ri Ta wasn't any better. They were one depressed person falling in love with another depressed person resulting in slow and longwinded conversations about what sad lives they had, which got old very fast.

The most mindbogglingly stupid thing in the whole story was Han Ri Ta's reasons for killing Do Ha. She created a bad situation by killing his father forcing both of them to become fugitives. But, instead of having faith in him to deal with it and moving forward together, she just decided to kill him to end it all because she didn't want to deal with it anymore. Were we supposed to believe this was love? They were portrayed as star crossed lovers, but her motivations were shallow and self-serving .

The villain was one of the most terribly written villains I've seen in a long time. Firstly, the evil dad wanted to kill Do Ha for "disobeying" him, why? Because he brought a girl home and fell in love with her. That's it. Furthermore, the evil dad's ghost spend 1500 years chasing after Han Ri Ta's reincarnations just to kill them as revenge for killing him because he was a terrible father. This was basically a giant recurring temper tantrum, being evil for evil's sake, not for anything substantial or meaningful.

Some plotlines randomly disappeared. Firstly, making FL a firefighter and ML a celebrity was never going to work. There was no situation where they could consistently be together to move the story forward. As a result, nobody ever worked because they needed to spend time together for the story's sake. She was a firefighter for a total of two episodes and he quit being a celebrity altogether except occasional fangirls chasing him when it was convenient, although he was supposed to shoot a super special historical drama at the beginning of the show, which went nowhere.

The finale wasn't well thought out either. There was no point bringing Jun Oh back, unless he and Young Hwa were going to end up together. The giant plot hole why Jun Oh and Do Ha looked identical was never explained. The writers left it as pure coincidence, which was some very lazy writing, especially because Do Ha and Young Hwa future reincarnated selves looked the same. This was a waste of a great story idea, because Jun Oh looking like Do Ha could've been a plot device to give Young Hwa a happy-ish ending too. But Young Hwa did not get her happy ending, neither did Do Ha. Yes, their souls were reincarnated at the end, but they were reincarnated as different people who probably did not remember their past lives. Young Hwa was unique because she was the closest version of Han Ri Ta and because there was still Do Ha's unfinished business. After the curse was lifted, there was no more unfinished business. Do Ha's soul left and Young Hwa continued on with her life without her true love. I thought this ending was rather tragic.

Overall, the drama started out with an epic bang and fell completely flat with shallow characters and villains acting like cartoon bad guys. There were moments where it tugged at my heart strings, but the badly written plot and characters' stupid decisions made the drama a chore to watch. This was definitely not Kim Young Dae's best work.

Exciting start, boring middle, proper ending

This might have been better as a shorter series. The first two episodes were so interesting that I initially chased this drama. The Silla-Gaya background and the 1500 year grudge really drew me in. However, as the drama progressed and the main villain was introduced, it just felt like a series of repetitive cat and mouse game, which ultimately made the middle so boring that I decided to just wait until all episodes are out before binge watching and fast forwarding. This had so much potential but ruined by lazy script writing. The main villain's reason for being was too weak for me. The powers of the ghosts and JunOh's fame were treated as plot devices and were inconsistent, it's there when needed but negligible when it's not. To be fair, I really liked the ending and how they incorporated the drama title into a scene. It was, for me, the proper ending for the main characters, with Doha's grudge finally being resolved. Overall, though it's not something I'll rave about, this is a good enough drama to pass the time.

Shockingly enjoyed

damn. I shockingly really enjoyed this show. This show is 80% thriller with 20% romance in the roots. Lots of jaw dropping moments and really has you engaged. The acting of Kim Youngdae is flawless with seamless transition of each version of him, and him slowing falling for her in the host body. Last Episode made me cry so much. If you don’t enjoy stories of 1500 y/o spirts are falling in love with 30 year olds, and if you love good kisses, not really for you.
The ending explains the title of the show and I loved the meaning. Though I wish the ending stopped at a part that made more sense like ending the show mid-way of the last episode would’ve been better imo. Even skipping the rest they shot and keeping the last 5 mins, would’ve been perfect for me.

An underrated drama

I highly disagree with comments that this drama is boring. I must say that it's one of the best I've seen. The plot is overall incredibly good written, with an ending you wouldn't expect in the first episodes. It does play on your emotions, which surprised me, because after Moon Lovers which is my best and My Dearest, I wouldn't expect any other drama to put me that high with my feelings. The enemies-to-lovers was not just another dull story, but really deep, probably mostly because of the reincarnation theme. Highly recommend to watch.
