When i saw this movie i just barely get into the movie in about 5 minutes and its already touched my heart. Kitamura Takumi and Nagano Mei act was the best overall. I certainly hope that their both get another movie together again. And yes, as a couple.
This movie gave so many goosebumps from the first place, it makes us embraces for what happening next in the movie.
It's so straight into the line makes everyone who watch this movie can easily understand about the story progress.
For those people who likes some kind of youth-emotional-romance movie, I really recommend you to watch it.

♥ 君は月夜に光り輝く♥
This movie is just AMAZING ♥ ♥ ♥You shine in the moonlight is about Takuya and Mamizu, they are both high school students. Mamizu suffers from the mysterious ailment “Luminescence disease.” People who have the disease show a faint sparkle under the moonlight and the sparkle gets brighter as their death gets closer. Mamizu is not allowed out of the hospital and she will not live long enough to become an adult, so Takuya offers to help and make all her dreams come true. Mamizu writes a list of things she wants to do before she dies. The day he went to amusement park wearing a bow hat, riding a roller coaster and eat 'First Love' parfait this scene is extremely cute ♥ ♥ ♥ Also at night he took her to the rooftop and they saw the stars together ♥ ♥ ♥
It's really a sweet heartwarming movie!!!

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]The story, although it is talk about the illness and tragedy, but didn't loose touch of youth life, like its freshness, cuteness, and of course its romance (*^.^*) The one that really get into my mind is when Takuya follow Mamizu's instruction to atone his mistake of broke Mamizu's snow globe. The day he went to amusement park, wearing a bow hat, riding a roller coaster and eat 'First Love' parfait makes me laugh hard at my office desk, on my lunch hour (≧∇≦)
Kitamura Takumi's act is good, but for the most outstanding act is from Nagano Mei. She's doing very great in this movie ヽ(♡‿♡)ノ
In the end, even though this is a tragedy-kind-of movie, but in my opinion this is a heartwarming and sweet movie.

Mei & Takumi’s acting.
I truly loved how they did their roles. I never saw Nagano Mei doing roles like this before so personally I was really excited to see how she did and I loved it. Takumi’s role is not so different from others, yet, it still had me speechless many times.I was TOTALLY crying when Mamizu passed away and Takuya didn’t even cry.... I was like, ur girl just died but u didn’t cry?!?! But I still understood his character easily. I wasn’t mad at him for not crying but I was a little surprised.
Their acting overall wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t so bad either, I think they did a good job in their own potraying such roles so, in my opinion, this movie is really worth it. You get to see a new side of Nagano Mei so you will like it definietly.

Burn brightly like a distant star
When I started this movie initially, I didn't think I would like the movies premise. But you slowly get drawn in. I think this is really due to the chemistry between Takuya and Mamizu.I think the core chemistry is the strongest selling point for this movie. I didn't think at first Takuya's actor was good. It felt like the same hollow protagonist you see a lot in these type of movies.
But as the movie progresses, we see othersides of his character and that's when you start to care. I do think the relationship between Takuya and his mom felt somewhat lacking and didn't really do too much to advance the plot despite the obvious reasons it should. Mamizu's gentle nature and curiosity had me really invested into the character. So when the scene finally happens you do tear up. I was expecting a much harder cry but I think because of how they allowed the characters growth you are kinda ok with it. It's like a gentle easement into death.
The plot of the movie is your typical someone is gonna die at the end. A hallmark of Japan drama it seems lol. But I liked how this story was basically a long distance relationship secretly instead of a terminally ill love story. They also handle a lot of the confession scenes really nicely I thought. They felt like really special moments.
One thing I think needed a little more time was some of the parent scenes felt less important and therefore certain scenes lost levity. The ending scenes also felt too long and drawn out. It felt like there were 3 endings.
Speaking of endings, there's a really nice montage for closure near the end as well that I think made the movie cohesive and worth the watch.

Generic Story but Good Actor Chemistry
a short review of this film, the plot presented in my opinion is quite generic (because there are quite a number of films with this kind of theme) but the plus point in this film is that the cast in this film have pretty close chemistry with each other, thus creating a bond that is formed between The MC and Heroine can also be felt by the audience. Shoutout to Mei Nagano and Takumi Kitamura for being able to make this film whose story in my opinion is quite generic but their cast on the characters they play can make this film's story a lot more alive. For the music used in this film is descent but quite matched in accordance with the scene shown. For the disease that is shown in this film is a fictional disease (of course because this film is adapted from a romance fantasy novel), but there is a connection with the real world, one of which is when a patient suffers from a disease whose cure and cause is unknown (such as leukemia and cancer), the patient's sadness is the treatment they do nothing but makes them also as guinea pigs to find a cure for these diseases, I think this is quite related to what the heroine feels in this film.

However, the movie didn't handle the story very well. Sure, the main plot about two young students falling in love even though one of them is deadly sick, is common, especially in the japanese repertoir. This movie had the strange illness to demonstrate and use as their tool to seperate themselves from the others out their. However, they did not used it at all. They showed some scenes here and there, but didn't elaborate on it. Also, the emotional scenes were a bit blunt.
In the end, the movie is quite forgetable, so five out of ten.
