Even better than season 1
Lots of conspiracies and intrigues make for a gripping watch with very suspensful moments. In season one, I didn't really get to know the characters enough. However, in season two, I was more emotionally invested. It is also even more gorey than season one, though - at one point I got a little sick. I'd say it is almost Game of Thrones level of gorey.
If you can't handle gore, don't watch it.
I'm still not a big fan of the OST. And the cliffhanger drove me crazy! Can't wait for season three.

Amazing Zombie Drama
I usually don't watch things related to zombies, mainly because it's been done so many times and it's usually all the same. But Kingdom is a completely different story. It has so much action and suspense and also the elements you'd expect in a historical drama. There was just as much political intrigue and backstabbing as you'd see in a historical K-drama. But it's interwoven nicely alongside the zombie storyline.Watching this, I didn't know who to trust or who was good or bad. I worried about who would die and who would survive. All the characters are well written, the story and world-building is amazing. I can't wait for the follow-up episode and see where it goes from there.

Suspense to the very last stand...
By far the best drama I've seen this year. It's action-packed with zombies, great characters and a very believable political battle. The cinematography is highly impressive. Compared to the first season, there's a ton more scene where I felt more satisfied. In terms of story, this season definitely tries to pull a bit of the logic to make it feel more epic or extreme. Critics may focus on this and say it wasn't as good, but in all things considered, I don't think they could have done it better. Also, there is still more to uncovered about how the zombies spread. This was foreshadowed for season three, so I would personally hold off my opinions on that until I see it.

Dropped the ball, still good tho
The first season was spectacular. Easily 10/10 from me. The intrigue, the ost, the acting, and production values were all top-notch. These things carried on. The second season is still very good. But it suffers from some serious issues that were absent from its predecessor, such as:-Extremely fast pace. Things happen way too quickly, like tl;dr from one plot point to another without proper buildup.
-Diabolous and Deus ex machina galore; characters making stupid or overly competent decisions for the sake of pushing plot forward; especially in final two episodes where it was like wut just turn off your brain and don't try to predict what happens next
-The protagonists made two 'merciful' and illogical decisions regarding sparing people that, fortunately, this fiction has enough decency to show terribly backfire. Still, it was incredibly frustrating.
-When you have zombies pilled up below impenetrable city walls, you can just shoot them from above. Surely you have more arrows, blackpowder, and other weapons than there are zombies?
-Armor is not paper, please stop showing blades cutting through armor like that. Also, bows are not guns. Especially medieval bows. You can't just draw it and hold it drawn for a prolonged period of time without tearing your tendons.

BETTER THAN SEASON 1, THAT'S HOW AMAZING IT WAS!
~Continuation of the cliffhanger from Season 1 (The wait was torturous!!!)~Explores various socio-political themes alongside the right balance with zombie action
~S2 manages to give a deeper character growth and perspectives for all the leads involved including protagonists and antagonists
~Jaw dropping plot twist continues for this season as well
~Cinematography exceptional as with Season 1
~Super binge worthy
~Cliffhanger ending again (WAITING FOR SEASON 3!!!)
I watched it in a single sitting, totally worth the wait!

Good zombie drama but not strong storyline.
It is a good zombie drama and easy to watch but for me there is missing development of the characters. To be honest I did not care if the main characters die or not. The main focus was on the playeg instead of focusing more on the storyline. Based on the high rating I was expecting much more. The drama will keep me hooked but towardsthe end I was loosing interest.

Kingdom is playing dirty with me
So you are telling me that I was laying the whole day in my bed watching the first and this season of Kingdom only to wait for another one? I don't like open endings and I don't like waiting for anything. I liked this season better than the first one because there was no introduction to characters, we went straight to the point. When it comes to my liking and disliking some of the characters there are a lot of characters that I just can't even watch or look at them while doing anything because it looks stupid. But anyway, I will wait for the third season. Was this review helpful to you?

The Only Horror I Could Watch — and Love
I hate horror. I avoid it completely. Jump scares, cheap shocks, pointless gore — none of it works for me. Kingdom is the only show that made me watch a horror genre without fear. There are no lazy jump scares here. Instead, it relies on creeping dread, quiet sadness, and a constantly tightening atmosphere that forces you to confront who the real monsters truly are. That alone makes this series extraordinary. From start to finish, Kingdom is a masterclass in storytelling. The blend of historical politics and horror is executed with intelligence and restraint. Every episode feels purposeful, tense, and emotionally heavy. Rather than shocking you for the sake of it, the series builds unease through loss, desperation, and moral decay. It’s dark, but never empty. For me, this is a solid 10/10.
Ju Ji-hoon delivers an exceptional performance as the crown prince, carrying leadership, vulnerability, and quiet determination with remarkable control. Bae Doona is equally powerful — intelligent, compassionate, and deeply human. Their presence anchors the story emotionally, making the chaos and horror feel painfully real. The connection between the leads and the world around them is one of the drama’s greatest strengths.
The supporting cast is flawless. Every character feels intentional, every performance meaningful. No one exists just to fill space — each role contributes to the political tension, emotional weight, and tragic consequences that define the series. This ensemble work elevates Kingdom far beyond a typical genre drama.
My only disappointment comes after the ending of Season 2. No offense to actress Jun Ji-hyun with that cameo at the end — I haven’t seen her work, so this isn’t about her acting. I simply wished the continuation the movie Ashin of the north, had stayed focused on the main leads and the core storyline rather than shifting attention to a separate backstory. Kingdom is at its best when it centers on its established characters and narrative. Even so, this series remains one of the greatest K-dramas ever made and I loved it for both the seasons and all the leads.

The one thing that stood out to me the most is the music and the cinematography — both really impressive and immersive, with some of the most dramatic and beautiful shots I'd ever seen.

Great sequel
I couldn't stay away for very long from season 2, because the season 1 ending was too good!I very much prefer shorter dramas when action is packed because you get gems like these. As others have been saying, Seo Bi was the savior here, loved to see how people could be cured although the ending... Also, I have to say I didn't like Chang's choice in the end but hopefully we'll get a third season. There are so many questions left unanswered, they have to get back to it!
Great acting, OST. My rewatch value is a bit lower because of the ending but overall, it's an amazing watch. Screenwriters, Netflix, please, don't abandon this. It deserves an ending!

Zombies in Joseon part 2
The story continues with a kingdom being on a brink of collapse in the midst of a political struggle and a bloody war between people and monsters. The plot is well balanced between corruption and war without overwhelming us with too much with court politics.Season 2 also introduces a more well-rounded villain, the queen, who doesn't simply exist to usurp power. Being the daughter of a ruthless official, she takes the level of cruelty to a whole new level. But, although she commits countless atrocities, some of her motivations add depth to her character, unlike her father who was a stereotypical power-hungry villain.
The story is still well paced full of intrigue and interesting characters, but the ending leaves a huge cliffhanger with no promise of a season 3. Lee Chang gives up the throne in favor of an infant with no royal blood. While the infant grows up in the palace to be the future king, Lee Chang sets off on a quest to track the resurrection flower and everyone who distributes it. That seems like a nonsensical decision completely undermining everything he's done so far. But, there is a method to his madness. A kingdom must have a king. A kingdom with a history of a zombie apocalypse must have someone to ensure the dead stay dead. This decision culminates his complete character development where he becomes a selfless hero putting the national interests first rather than his personal ambition. As the show approaches the end, he comes across an eerie shack full of monsters and finds a mysterious woman there. Meanwhile, in the palace, a eunuch witnesses a worm crawling under the young king's skin towards his brain. This is where the story ends with no plot resolution and a brand new character we don't know enough to care about.
I normally don't watch zombie shows because of the gore. But here, it was manageable for me because the amount of gore was enough to be convincing without being overwhelming. The drama was so well executed, it kept me engaged from start to finish. But, the ending was disappointing because there is no season 3!
