Since I watched the K-drama Sky Castle first than this drama, I can't help too think that this drama is just another SKY Castle too. If you watch sky castle it is almost the same as this drama, These dramas are also both under/shown in JTBC. As expected, JTBC is really good in genre about family, education, and youth (SKY Castle, Beautiful World, At eighteen, etc.).

The actors and actress who played the characters are awesome, especially Kim Hwan hee. The OSTs are good too and after I finished watching this I felt warm. And I also like the family, friends, and siblings relationship in this drama.

although in my opinion, the plot is too slow and some parts and episode gets boring.
I'll give this drama a 6.5/10. If you want too watch this then go ahead, but for me I prefer SKY Castle than this drama. But both dramas are awesome.

This show will make you feel sad, hopeful, and just every emotion. Well thought out characters and a realistic look at childhood bullying. I was just awed by every single actors performance. Kudos to the young cast who did such a great job showing emotional range especially Nam Da Reum and Seo Dong Hyun who played the antagonist bully and still made me care about his character and his misery of being trapped in a house of reckless and thoughtless people. It was clear he just wanted someone to believe in him and to make him feel like he had a chance despite doing what he did to Sun ho in a fit of resentment and in retaliation to his mother and father's terrible parenting. Choo Ja Hyun was just brilliant in her portrayal of a broken, hopeless mother who goes through hell because of the son's accident and when she realizes she doesn't know her kids as well as she thought she did. I think every parent and every teen should watch this drama to see its hopeful message. That violence only begets more violence and peace can only come from rational, but empathetic approach to the problems of the world. I also loved that they showed respect to the under age character even when they were "bad" and actually explained why that's necessary. And also why it's important to not be swayed by rumor and act without someone getting an actual conviction because often times what seems like an open truth might have other sides to the story.

Good enough eh....

None of the events or crimes matter. What really matter is the astonishing incompetent police work. It's really hard to ignore that and continue watching. There was no need to show the police investigation done that way. Even if it had some truth in it tied with reality. The story would've been completely fine even if the police investigation was done right and the investigation ended properly while adhering to all the procedures. All of this happened in episode 1 which makes watching the next 15 episodes a bit too bothersome. The drama started to lose its focus halfway through and the story began to stretch. Would be much better to keep it to 12 eps and cut some of the middle parts. On a side note, Sun Ho feels like the most generic NPC in any visual novel. On an unrelated note, what's up with Choo Ja Hyun exclusively doing Chinese dramas prior to this drama? No wonder I've never heard of her!

Everyone loves Nam Da Reum, because he is very talented and sweet, but in "Beautiful World" the biggest star is young Seo Dong Hyun, who portrayed the complicated character of a boy (Joon Seok) trapped between family ambition and longing for true love and friendship. It was a pleasure to watch him and his emotions.

Drama is not easy. The beautiful world is full of lies, greed and violent. But it isn't a simple crime story with detective work, because the scenario tells about parents' moral responsibility for children, as well teachers' for students.

One of a big advantage in this drama is a cast: there are second-line actors who usually don't play the main role and here they can shine.

The story, acting, filming, music and directing are good. I highly recommend, the drama has not flaws. You will sincerely hate the bad guys and love the good ones.

very slow at the beginning

Overall It was just a story that was cliché. But what this tv show made unique was the role playing of the characters. It was an emotional and heartwarming story. There was not much mystery in this drama, because you could know who the person was that pushed seon ho. At the end everyone got what they deserved. At the first half of the drama it was very hard for me to watch further. the second half it became better and there was a progress in the story. At the end it was very satisfying that everyone knew what they did wrong. Especially when joon seok knew. I recommend if you love family dramas.

The beginning of the story was intriguing, parents who wants to reveal the truth regarding the incident. But halfway, I start getting bored, luckily the last episode saved it. I feel like the story revolved too much with Joon Seok being the bully. Nevertheless, the show gave the right ending.

I didn't know much about the cast aside from Nam DaReum. I thought he'll showcase more of his acting, but he's on bed all through-out and just having some scenes through the backstory. Even so, I didn't know much about the cast, they did act well.. Specially the young guy who portray as Joonseok. His acting is good!

Not even one OST stands out. But I don't think it's bad. It's just not memorable to have me singing on it.

As this is a melo, I don't think I'll have it on rewatch. \

Overall, I gave the drama 8.0 although I won't recommend it that much unlike other melo dramas.

From the beginning of the drama, the first scene struck me. I knew this would be a heavy drama for sure. The music was on point and I'm loving the transitions.

This story focuses on the evil higher ups covering up the crimes of the 3 rich kids (plus 1 more boy) involved in bullying Seon Ho. There will be a lot of frustrations and impatience regarding this so a gentle reminder to the viewers... this story will begin a bit slow but gradually it will get better. You will cry, be angry, and flipping lots of tables too... remember to get some tissues.

The story begins slowly with Seon Ho felling from the rooftop to his parents and sister wanting to know the truth behind Seon Ho's bullying. From episode 4-6, that's when things sped up. Da Hee and the ghost girl definitely knew what happened that night. It's obvious who were the perpetrators but it's the fact that the school is trying to cover it up leading to this and that.. like a tug of war. But I believe Justice will be revealed.

The last thing I want to say is that Seon Ho's sister is the character to watch out for. She's the smartest girl and the most developed character though sometimes she makes few troubles here and there. But, she is mentally strong and she's not afraid of showing her badass side. :) She is my favorite character and you will love her too~

my favorite characters were Seo Young Joo (a total srs), Lee Ki Chan (student), Park Seung Man (teacher) and Shin Kang Hoon (detective), also Choi Ji Kyung (reporter).. it's easier to fight for your cause then to fight for someone else's?
the overall plot though was really basic, the same old story told the exact same way with slight drag and a small twist? and things seemed to "wrap" up fast after all of that fighting..
+ the raw emotions, I'm a sucker for a sob story and this made me tear up alot..
+ the characters and the acting
- it needed less episodes, maybe 6?
