This is an absolutely cute drama. The actors did very well bringing their characters to life. It is a light-hearted fantasy romantic comedy with a female lead full of cute silliness, a child like personality, and emotionally challenged due to the fact that she is an alien. Even so, her character starts to warm up towards the male lead that, under the façade of a cold personality, falls deeply in love with her. The main leads interactions are full of hilarious circumstances and some heart tugging moments. The only criticism about the drama is that their romantic moments were toned down. The male lead was great in creating the right atmosphere but the female lead was too shallow when kissing. Having said that, the leading actors have a good rapport and beautiful moments as they embrace each other. Overall, it is a fun, lighthearted drama to watch. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?
We all know that the cold hearted, lonely, rich guy ceo role is overly used in many dramas, but in this one, I found it cute. Next is the alien girl. Her character is what really stood out for me the most. She's not shy, demure, emotional, whiny, but the opposite of it all. She's strong, brave, funny, and bold. She doesn't allow anyone to just push her over, which I appreciate.
As for the plot, I like how this drama is very simple. No too many bad people, and that there's not much conflict to make you frustrated. Some parts are corny but just the right amount enough to find it funny instead of being too cringe-worthy. Some scenes made me feel like it was trying to copy a romcom Korean drama but I liked it because dramas in Korea rarely do it anymore (maybe because they felt that it was already overused) and I missed it. Maybe i'm just corny that way. T_T
Second, is that the actors in this drama are all good acting wise. They have good chemistry and are good looking people especially the male lead Bie Thassapak Hsu. He sure is one hot man and i'm sure not even an alien can resist him.
The only downside i guess of this drama would be there might be some plot holes, and that the story might just revolve on one thing. However, overall, the drama is simple, cute, heart-warming and fluffy enough for you to smile and laugh the whole time you're watching this. It might not be as memorable but it is an entertaining watch if you would watch it purely for what it is, and let go of over analyzing the scenes.

This is one of the sweetest romance shows I have ever seen. The premise is a bit sci-fi, buy they play it low key for the most part. By that I mean it's not a major plot point throughout most of the show. The OST was okay, not as beautiful as some others I have heard, but still a nice compliment to the show. The acting of the main characters is phenomenal. The only thing is I could have done without the cgi turtle.
Tone wise, this reminded me of Go Go Squid, Lucky's first love, and the Korean I am not a robot. It's a cute, sweet, rom-com that happens to have sci-fi elements to it. Don't be like me and skip this one!

Worth to watch - no doubts
A must watch chinese drama, the story line is very nice although I'm not into sci-fi, this is one of the dramas(whether it's korean or chinese) that I didn't skip any part of an episode. The characters are portrayed well and looks natural.I love the chemistry between the main characters: Wan Peng(which her looks are similar with Jisoo of Blackpink) and Thassapak Hsu!(he's very talented btw search him up) Behind the scenes are a must to watch as well, they're very fun.
Hoping that season 2 will really be released(if there's really one)

A drama where you can feel zero chemistry between the leads
Rarely do i drop dramas, mainly because of the fact that i hate leaving any projects unfinished.The drama is supposed to be a romantic fantasy; focusing on a boss's life and his family and past relationships.
It had potential, but up until episode 10, i personally couldn't understand anything.
There is no logic in this drama( I know it's fantasy but at least they should have thought things through)
The leads literally have no chemistry while they already kissed like 2-3 times in the first 10 episodes by accident.
The ML is like a robot. His face has no expressions. He can't even show sadness, anger, love, etc.
The FL is cute and clueless and i wanted to continue because of her mainly, but the story didn't keep up.
There is a cartoonish turtle( which was fine and cute at the same time, but i saw technical errors even in that aspect. For instance, the voice actor is not talking but the turtle's lips are moving and making gestures! so silly tbh. They really need to be considerate even in such absurd details.
Overall, it had potential in my opinion, but the story lacks a lot.

Light hearted show
My first Chinese drama, I'm not a big fan of rom-com shows but I really enjoyed this show. It was a very cute and light-hearted show. There were so many funny moments, where I laughed so hard. Lead actors were so good in their roles, and the chemistry between them so adorable that you can't help but fall in love with them. The lead actress's expressions were so cute and natural and the lead actor was amazing as cold and caring Fang Leng. The storyline was okay but their chemistry made it more beautiful.I must say dubbing artist did a great job even though i never watched a show in my native language but the voices suit them very well. AMAZING!(MX player) It becomes my favorite Chinese drama. I'm happy to see that its second part is coming. Can't wait to see it. Love from IndiaWas this review helpful to you?

What I liked about the series:I wasn't sure if I would like the series because Kag is very picky about TV series. But I've laughed during these episodes. I hope season 2 is just as good.

First thing's first, if you're looking to enjoy this drama, you may have to overlook some things about the plot. When you break down the story, you'll find that it's nothing but your average romantic love story and the only thing different is that the main characters are not so average. There's the typical rich ML who's a CEO of his family's company, the overbearing parents who want ML to marry the person they think best suits him, the second FL who tries to sabotage ML/FL's relationship, the annoying misunderstandings where one character doesn't let the other person finish and storms out, etc. The characters also think they know what's best for the other person, so they decide things on their own without telling the truth... blahblah. Basically, if FL wasn't an alien, you'd probably get bored and frustrated watching the drama but if you can get passed all of that/deal with it, then you're good to go! (NOTE: You're not going to have to overlook every scene in the drama, it's just to warn you that these things may come up.)Personally, I did enjoy this drama because FL is an alien so a lot of things she does are unconventional to humans, like when she gets super touchy-feely with men with great bodies haha. Sure, I got bored in the middle because I couldn't stop thinking about how average the plot was (minus the alien aspect) so I did skip parts of episodes, but it was enjoyable overall because of the copious amounts of sweet/adorable scenes between ML/FL. The relationships she forms with characters are formed under very odd and unrealistic circumstances, but just go with it. You might need to watch until ep 4-5 until the story starts to pick up and get exciting. After that, I'd say around ep 12 is when I started to get a bit bored, but then it picks up again later on.
The acting was okay, everyone is new to me so I wasn't expecting too much. It wasn't exceptional but it wasn't unbearable for me either. FL's actress did a great job, though, because her appearance just fit the role and her acting wasn't too over. It's easy to make a cute and innocent FL role seem annoying or too fake because the actress looked unnatural or tried to hard but I didn't find that an issue here. As for the music, I rated it lower because I surprisingly have no impression of the songs whatsoever; usually at least one song sticks with me but that wasn't the case with this drama.
TL;DR: If you don't take the drama too seriously and overlook some things, this can be very enjoyable!

Audible Sigh
With the anticipation of My Girlfriend is an Alien 2, I decided to watch the first one for the first time. *Trigger Warning* some people like me may be thrown off by how the female lead casually touches the male lead and is played out in a comedic manner. First off, unwanted physical contact is and will never be fluff. Imagine if the roles are reversed and the female lead is touched all over. Setting aside my apparent dislike for our alien with raging hormones, I still think the leads did their job well. Considering they were on screen for most of the time, I never got tired of their banter and did find a silver lining for our couple. Wan Peng as Chai Xiaoqi, and Thassapak Hsu as Fang Leng certainly had the chemistry to carry the drama's weak story.Was this review helpful to you?
