Both shows focused on forensics. Medical Examiner goes a little more in-depth into forensics and the main character teams up with the police. Good chemistry between the trio and good cases.

- both have similar layouts in episodes
- one case per episode (usually one maybe follow up in the 2nd episode)
- There is a main plot/villain which is underlying in both
- Both work with emergency services (PFJ works with the NFS, prosecution and the police and TFR s2 works with firefighters, NFS and the police)
- Both have episode titles in codes/alerts referring to the situation in the episode(s)
- both on streaming platforms --> TFR - Disney+ and PFJ - Netflix
- Both are follow-ups of the first seasons of their shows.
- More romance in TFR than PFJ (slight romance)
- one of the leads in each show have powerful family backgrounds (PFJ - FL is the daughter of a chairman of a main company and TFR - ML is the son of the chief of prosecution and both leads went into their profession(s) rebelliously (against family will).

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.
