A two-hour special episode dubbed the "Spring Investigation Special". As a COVID-19 precaution, the hosts do not appear in the studio. Only their voices are recorded. They start with an investigation of local problems, including a monument in Osaka with bad letters but nobody criticizes it, Nagano residents who know their house's elevation, Matsuyama citizens' reaction to the portrayal in Botchan, and Osaka people dissing Kanto style sakura mochi. The staff also show past local problems investigation clips. Next, investigations of foreigners in Japan including language mastery, shocking experiences in Japan, and sharing unique facts about their country. They check on Mr. Kiritani who was planning to buy a new apartment, finding out when he has to use cash and his daily activity. The hosts have a telephone conversation with Mr. Kiritani.
