An elderly woman, confined to her hospital bed, summons her four grandchildren, including Emi and Shinichi, to share the story of her family. In 1937, Shigesaburo Suzuki, a botanist and associate professor at Osaka University of Science, and his wife Seiko, unable to have children, adopted an orphan named Kota after Seiko's desire for motherhood intensified. Though initially awkward, Shigesaburo grew to embrace fatherhood, and the family expanded with more children. As the Pacific War loomed, life became more difficult, but the Suzukis, led by Shigesaburo and Seiko, maintained their smiles despite the looming challenges. (Source: kisskh) Edit Translation
