Sunshine of My Life

Sunshine of My Life is actually pretty good for a drama with the very familiar premise of a male CEO in the fashion industry and an aspiring fashion designer. (I mean, it was just last year that I watched Love Designer and Dear Designer.)

The romance between the main character Tang Ming Xuan and Mo Fei is very satisfying. There were a lot of sweet moments so you won't be suffering for 40+ episodes to finally see them together. They support each other's careers, they work through normal relationship issues, and they're unfazed by others who try to stand between them. Sure, there's some jealousy but they don't go down the "I'm not good enough for you" route or the self-sacrificing "I should leave because it's better for you" route. Zhang Han and Xu Lu had such great chemistry that I don't think I can watch Xu Lu paired with Lin Yi in her new drama. *However* Xu Lu does play the character with a pouty feel/speaks with an overly cutesy voice (I don't know how else to describe this) and if you can't stand it, then you won't enjoy this drama.

Although this drama uses a lot of common tropes, it uses them in a reasonable way that isn't over-the-top. Scheming and angst are pretty low. Fang Xiao Yu's actions did annoy me because they crossed the line (why does Hong Yao refuse to play a character that I like?!) but that made it easier for me to not have second lead syndrome. If there's one unbearable character, it's Bai Xiaoman and I skimmed through her scenes.

I did love many of the side characters. First of all, Ming Xuan's assistant Yang Guang had all the best lines. He was so funny and observant as he helped Ming Xuan with his love life in little ways. Lin Xin Zhe played this character so well. Second, the younger siblings Mo Fan and Lu Zhu were so fun. Lu Zhu could've easily been one of those annoying spoiled younger siblings from a rich family but she was so likable and genuinely made an effort to improve. (Although she's Ming Xuan's cousin, she's grown up as a sister to him.) I do wish Duoduo had been a more rational character, or at least have shown some growth in her actions. She was always so impulsive and Cheng Yang was so patient.

Overall, this exceeded my expectations and was an enjoyable to watch if you like this sort of premise! Of the dramas with similar premises, I'd recommend this one.

A MIX OF ALL( there's a lot of designing and PASSION)

I started watching this drama quite a while ago but then put it on hold because of my university exams, back then i loved this. Then after a few months, I picked it back up again, the spark was lost, I found both the main male leads quite overbearing, later on things changed, which is a plus. Mo Fei (FL) is amazing, she's quite childish yet mature, outspoken but knows to respect, she's passionate and confident yet kind, I loved her character so much. Few other characters who have my heart are Mo Fan fml's brother, he's charming and cute ,their constant bickering made watching it all the more fun, then ml's assistant Yang Guang ( if I'm not wrong) is the best wingman and led Tang Mingxuan in the right path when it came to his ventures in love. Her mom and his father are another pair of amazing characters, they absolutely are goals.
The reason I didn't give this an 8.5 is because there was a lot of unnecessary dragging in the plot towards the middle so I had to skip a lot. And lord knows how much his mom pissed me off, I get headache whenever she opens her mouth like Jesus! Other backstabbers were not fun either especially Shen Jiaxi, she pissed me off more than Bai Xiaoman tbh, at least a known enemy is better than a backstabbing bestfriend. Fang Xiaoyu was obsessed so he gave me a feeling of trapped but his reasoning and past makes it understandable yet not tolerable.
Now let's talk about positive parts, at the end even the evil vile characters were not hated, they turned out good, usually when bad characters self reflect and move on it still doesn't make me feel okay but this drama obviously did it, those actors portrayed their role very well. This drama discussed Chinese culture, designing, business love, family and friendship, it was amazingly done. People make mistakes but one must learn from it. Leads had amazing chemistry both first and second, there was a huge amount of support, love and very less cliché dating scenes which I loved, very few misunderstandings, lots of growth. In the ending parts, Fang Xiaoyu too got my heart piece( a tiny one though).
AND THE STARTING MUSIC OH MY GOS, IT'S SO MELODIC SO SWEET, I want to put it as my alarm but I know it'll make me want to curl up in my blankets all the more so bad idea.

Female lead studies fashion design others are jealous of her

With this drama being 45 episodes long I anticipated skipping many parts, which I did.Your average fashion genre drama. I really liked the female lead's bold, sunny and willing to stand up for herself personality. Also the relationship between the female lead and male lead absolutely stunning! ( first of all the Xu lu is so pretty) So much passionate and chemistry, totally here for the romance/relationship and would skip the rest of the dramatic people and annoying characters.

First part of the drama is when they first get to know each other and fall in love. This drama they didnt start out bickering but the male lead falling in love with female lead! but female lead then was going to Paris to study fashion design. A good chunk of the story revolves around Paris. I like the female lead's story in her process to become a fashion designer trying to help out her boyfriend aka male lead who owns a fashion company.

The cons about this drama is that it has too many unnecessary people love triangles and people that hate the female lead.
Annoying character #1
male lead's right hand partner which is a lady ( not sure to consider her the 2nd lead) SHe's like his childhood friend who works with him. She gets jealous of female lead)
more Annoying character#2 ( second male lead) He was always trying to bother the female lead and try to do stuff to show he's better than the male lead. lol he's a fly thats in her way.
Side character aka classmates of the female lead
1) classmate, always have been jealous of her. She is a model and always been a bad relationship
2) fashion classmate who was jealous of the female lead's talent. Use to be friends until the betrayal that sent female lead's design to the competing company.

Something positive! loved loved loved the female and male lead's relationship. There kisses seem very real and passionate. Like they are head over heels for each other, so sweet and super cute! loved it, if someone could just cut those scenes out and out it together that would be perfect!

There isn’t much to see here but

Well, I’m on ep 28 rn, and tbh i rly want to drop it but I’m continuing this drama for the sake of the ML lol

CONS
-Too many unnecessary scenes and I literally skip forwards because even if you skip forward some scene, you won’t get left behind.
-The storyline, there’s nothing new here. I don’t usually complained about mainstream rom-com storyline, but the amount of unnecessary minor dramas between everyone here is too much. For 45 eps, they should cut it short to 24-28 eps.
-The SML is indeed creepy, he’s everywhere, i thought i’d see more like a mature bad-boy kind of SML but oh he’s creepy. The SFL, does all the evil SFL likes here too? she’s just annoying lol.

PROS
-The only thing that keeps me continue watching this drama rn, is actually THE MALE LEAD. Jesus, HIS GESTURE LOOKS SO NATURAL, I couldn’t help but smile when the couple are together. His gesture, his body language, the way he’s looking at the FL. This is my first drama of him, so yeah. Will definitely check out his other works too.
-The FL, well I don’t have much to say about her. I think she fits ok with the character, there’s def chemistry between the Main Couple.
-And the cousin couple too, they’re cute.
-Although the storyline is kinda meh, but the VISUAL and the CULTURE in this drama, loved it. It’s like I get more knowledge about the chinese designs, etc.

Just Can Not Watch Anymore

I feel bad that Zhang Han had to put his name on this. I realize the writers are going for fluffy but what they got was a hot mess. Any stars I gave were solely for the ML. FL is horrible. Everything a bad Cdrama female lead shoud be, Stupid, annoying, childish, unattractive. The 2nd male lead is a creepy stalker. The remaining female cast memebers are all typical cdrama idiots. Typical annoying, overbearing mother. Typical female assistant who would do anything at all to get rid of the FL. Can not stand that aspect of cdramas either. Are there any normal mothers in China who want their children to be happy? I should expect the female lead to be annoying 95% of the time in these chinese dramas but every now and then you get a good one. This was not it. Dropped it at episode 15.

My Honest Review

This is one of the best and most satisfying drama I have watched in the past two years. The story of this drama something that can actually happen and the situations they face are also relatable and their acting is so realistic . I really like the fact that the writers completed all the problems before the last episode and left it for the sweet romance and satisfying ending ...
In Most of the dramas the writer rushed everything in the last episode as a result we don't get the ending we want but I promise that you will be satisfied with this drama .It's a Must watch drama! The writer have not just focus on the main characters but also gave importance to all the characters and didn't leave anything incomplete which makes the drama stand out even more.

It's one of the best I've seen in my life!!!
I'm totally in love with this one..
It's story, cast and most importantly this drama has the warmth that most dramas lack..
Understanding partners are the best and this drama have it. They tend to trust each other even if there are proof against them and that is the best part.
I feel it is worthy of rewatch... I just wanna watch it infinite times as one time is not fulfilling at all.

Here to Heart Cast Reunion

So far up to the 12th episode I have enjoyed the pace and getting to know the different characters. The production value is high and the fashion has been a highlight. I especially love shows that educate the audience on traditional arts and this is no exception. So far we have seen embroidery, silk weaving, and batik dyeing. It's mostly a traditional cdrama but it has had a few interesting plot points. Another welcome aspect is that so far three of the more prominent characters in "Here to Heart" also appear in the main cast here. It's nice to see them again. Zhang Han is great again and wears an impeccable wardrobe that he carries off so well with his height. Normally would be watching this on Viki but with the English subs already included on Kukan (YT) I am seeing them there daily when they are released. Love the drama so far and can't wait to see its progression. Will update my review when I finish watching it.

Bored

I had watched many drama of male Lead based on the story of employee and boss. All stories had some common first they fall in love ,then some problem then both sacrifice their love for each other and at the end ultimately they meet.
Similary I had found in this drama ,but in 16 episodes they had shown both fall with each other then one's sacrifice their love with the thought that they are not compatible with each other and other not ready to loose so follow the one till end and patch up. I don't what will be in further story but I think I guess what would be the end.
