Alice in Borderland

今際の国のアリス ‧ Drama ‧ 2020
It is another survival game controlled by a higher power. Combined debt/greed and games with the consequence of death.

Akagi is just one man whose stakes are always death, his game is Mahjong, and no one can beat him though several try.

It is another survival game but this one has no set up and is more like "Hunger Games" than an unknown higher power running the show.

8.4 W (2016)
W- two worlds this series also have a parallel world. Though there's an anime artist who's writing everyone's fate. Both are thrilling dramas. Lots of intense but Alice in Borderland still doesn't have any romance but in W it has. Lee Jong Suk is the ML.

In both shows the leads are socially awkward outcasts. They also idolize their popular love interest.

Both Netflix shows are fictitious, fun to watch, and are really intense. They also share the same category or genre, so they will surely share the same audiences as well.

Arisu Ryohei—a listless, jobless and video-game-obsessed young man—suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive. In this strange world, Arisu meets Usagi, a young woman who’s navigating the games alone. After a dangerous game which tests Arisu’s limits, the two set out together to unravel one mystery after another as they risk their lives and confront what it means to live.

Adapted from the manga series "Imawa no Kuni no Alice" by Haro Aso.

Both drama has smart male leads and the characters were forced to enter game unwillingly. Games were all for interesting as well as tricky.

Science Fiction dramas.
Imawa no kuni no Alice is a survival game (and action one), however Hoshi Shinichi series is not. also its a short stories and its drama.
Both takes place in Futuristic world is one similarity.
Recommend Hoshi Shinichi no Fushigina Fushigina Tanpen . if you like the other.
Hoshi Shinichi no Fushigina Fushigina Tanpen has mindblowing endings !!
