Don't waste your time

You know, there are some parts of this series that I love, but so many more that I just can't stand. This was the first time I had to force myself to finish a series.

First of all, there were so many toxic and problematic characters. Mil was the worst and really didn't deserve the forgiveness he got. What the heck was with Green chasing after Tine when he was already in a relationship with Dim. Man was just literally a stalker!!!! Like... what the heck? I really don't mind toxic characters, but only when they're SHOWN to be toxic. When you're watching a light hearted comedy, you don't expect so much glamorized toxicity.

All that aside, the thing that I think annoyed me the most was how Tine and Sarawat moved in together VERY fast after they started dating... and yet a kiss on the cheek is just TOOOOO much for them? It makes no sense. Tine acts like a virginal princess despite them sleeping together in the same bed every night. Like... just what is or isn't going on in this relationship? It felt so completely strange. It's fine if they have some reason to not to be physically intimate, but that reason was completely absent.

So seriously, skip this show unless you like toxic stalkers played for laughs and the most pristine, PG adult relationship you've ever seen.

I dont get why there are people that are hating on it, most of them say that is boring idk actually why, maybe because there is no nc scenes but that would be very dumb, I think it has a good cute plot, the acting was great, and the cinematography too.

Sarawat keeps me watching

It's extremely juvenile, exaggerated, the sound effects are annoying and the product placements are extremely obvious BUT Sarawat is cute enough to keep me watching lol. The acting is pretty decent although I have to give credit to the actor portraying Sarawat since this is his first TV show. There are 3 things I particularly love: Sarawat was actually pretty forward with his affections for Tine. The other thing that I love is the reveal that Sarawat has been in love with Tine since a year ago and that his stoicness in front of Tine is absolutely a facade. That's a good twist. He's actually incredibly happy to have found Tine. That's super cute. He joined Instagram for Tine and even wanted to use LoveTine as his username. On the other hand, it's disappointing that Tine always holds back, and is so insecure with their relationship. He feels like an entirely different character since he went on the reforestation camp. Lastly, Green is based on a stereotype but he's more than that. He's stereotypically gay: hilarious, hyper feminine and extremely clingy. However, the show balances these traits or subverts this stereotype by making him an excellent fighter and by revealing that he's actually in an on-again-off-again relationship with Dim; Green is romantically desired, not rejected (by everyone). And to add on to this point, the show also avoids common BL pitfalls, like calling one of the gay men "wife," or using the rather homophobic premise of "I'm straight but I like this man only." I make a point to mention this in every review I do. The sequel, Still 2gether, fails the "wife" criteria in the first episode.

One of the weakest points of the show is how absurd the premise is. If Green is this persistent, it's sexual harassment. Instead of reporting Green to the school and getting rid of him permanently, Tine is putting more effort into chasing Sarawat. Also, convincing Green that he's straight is way better than making him think he still has a chance by flirting with Sarawat (because it shows that Tine accepts men). Tine is also painfully, unreasonably oblivious, which is annoying, because it's obviously to drag the show on. There's too much repetition and tells from Sarawat for me to believe that Tine is unsure of Sarawat's feelings for him. It'd be more believable if Sarawat made Tine confused about his sexuality and have him spend most of that time sorting that out instead of being unsure of Sarawat's feelings. Also, the assaults on Sarawat and then both Sarawat and Tine: why didn't they report them to the school? Absurd. The return of Pam felt completely out of place and unnecessary since she's introduced in the second last episode. She should have been introduced much earlier to add fuel to Tine's confusion about whether he's bi, and whether Sarawat likes him. THEN comes Mil who tries to chase Tine too. Anyway, if they made this change, and shortened the series to maybe 8 episodes, I feel it'd flow a lot better. Some nitpicking: I've never saw any cheerleader perform any cheerleading moves. They just put their arms up. Their first aid is crap. Really. Can't they disinfect properly?

No chemistry

I don’t know why so many people liked this serie. The story wasn’t that really original, and more importantly there was no chemistry between the main couple. Nearly nothing about the other one.
I didn’t feel anything about the acting of Bright (Sarawat), I didn’t feel that he love Win (Tine), even as a friend.
I really liked the other couple, but we have nearly nothing about them, I really like Mike (Man) and Toptap (Type) but there was not a lot about them, even Frank (Phukong) and Drake (Mil) story was more interesting than the Main couple’s.
And why nothing about Guy (P’Dim) and Gus (Green)? Green is cute, I really liked him!
I know that the story is about Sarawat and Tine, but the part about the other couple are too short.
All the other serie I have watched have longer scene about the other couple than this one.

A cute series to binge

This is the first BL I've watched and I quickly fell in love with BL Series ever since. The overall atmosphere in this series is pleasing and light. It's just a light drama but still good to binge on. It's just me that I don't want complicated storyline and this one don't have it so I'm glad. The casts are great and cute. Some scenes are lovey dovey. I honestly wished that Gigie's role there as Pamela changed. It's a cute series and I adore everything. Yow, the soundtrack is very nostalgic and It's All In My Head All This Time is my favorite, I kid you not. Story-wise, somewhat digestible but I was just caught up of chemistries of the casts. It's not top of the top but still freely appreciated.

To encourage those who are afraid to watch this do to all the negative comments

I would actually suggest to watch this to people if you-
1. Want to relax and watch some fluffy drama
2. Want to watch some very good looking actors? (Yes more than two)

Yes I would also agree that it is overhyped. But still it's not something unexpected since the whole thing is so fluff. A lot of people actually like rom-coms (in the asian drama fandom) haha like me.
About the quality, oh gawd the editing, honestly gmmtv what happend to this. I have never seen such half-hearted editing in all the gmm production so far. Not bad per say but REALLY could be much better.

About Bright's acting, if you actually see the interviews, you will know that even he was not quite having it with the protagonist's characteristics. It's not that he can't act or has wooden expression, the thing is he wasn’t allowed to show it. He said it yeah. Though the script was improvised a lot by him, lord just imagine how much worse it would be if it wasn’t.

I would also say that bright and win actually have chemistry. Tho not the usual touchy feely one. And i actually quite like that. Like it because they don't give us the extra expectations like MewArt did. Yessss lol i said that.

I think i have addressed the major concernings. Do watch it without much expectations, you'll like it. Cause I did.

This is a Bromance

Like that's a good chunk of my life I want back. So much hype SO MUCH HYPE! For this steaming pile? Like I thought at some point they would maybe actually have a real kiss or even a passionate hug but I got nothing and this couple had zero chemistry. Like I thought Mean and Plan from Love by chance 1 & 2 had no chemistry but they make these two look like soul mates and there is a sequel!! Who asked for that!?! I'm glad this wasn't my first BL because I would have tapped out right there. OMG! I need to go rewatch Bad Buddy, Not Me or Love in the Air just to get this monstrosity out of my head.

2GETHER IS FOR STRAIGHT PEOPLE

I just feel like this bl was targeted toward straight people. The story is nothing original and wasn't executed well. The acting was nothing special but I think Win did a pretty decent job considering it was his first drama. Bright on the other hand I feel like he was uncomfortable playing in a bl. I just don't feel the chemistry between them after they start dating. It is always funny to me when brightwin fans call them chemistry kings. There were too many side couples and I did not give a fuck about any of them. The only side character I liked was green. The drama was very low budget. I think if gmmtv remade this it would have been better. 2gether is very mediocre and if the actors weren't handsome it wouldn't be so popular.

Still disappointing even when I didn't have any expectations

(English is not my first language so please excuse my mistakes)

When I started this BL, I didn't have high expectations. But still, it was disappointing.

- Tine and wat had more chemistry when they were fake dating than when they became boyfriend. Everyone can agree than you don't need to portray explicit sex scene to showcase love between to person. But they are some thing that have to be "de facto" when people are in love. When moving together in a house with only one bed, and you're a couple, I highly doubt that you will just be on your side, back facing each other, with all your clothes on. Especially when you're young (they must be like 19 yo men), at that age with your partner this is NOT a realistic portray?? And even watching the star together there was no sign of romance at all ! This lack of romantic interactions (I'm not asking for hot bed scene) is so frustrating as it's repeat all along, during 13 episodes. Because of that it was so hard to see them as lovers, they looked and acted more like brothers or buddies...:/

- The story and the plot had potential, I liked the idea of fake dating, it could be fun. But it was toxic asf. Something that come back a lot in Thai BL drama is the lack of FREAKING COMMUNICATION. Every argument is almost the end of the relationship and small thing cause huge and disproportionate arguments. I'm tired of this. They never want to listen what the other has to say for their defense just because they "saw" something that can mean nothing.

- The use and portrayal of girls/young women : they are only portrayed in cliché and annoying ways : a bunch of crazy girls screaming over hot guys ; the "ex who is still in love and come back just to screw everything up, even when knowing that wat has a boyfriend but still comeback because director wanted some drama but didn't want to think to much and were lazy" ; the girl that tine like and want to date who is only use to show Wat's jealousy because it's "cute omggg look he's jealous he loves tine so much ahah XD ". The only girl I appreciated was the one playing guitar in the music band (but see I don't even remember her name (X ).
Anyway...

- side story/realtionship: not gonna lie I kinda skipped a lot of those scene cause it was just boring and not interesting. They were just here to show that "everyone is gay and end up with a boyfriend and oh that's so cool".
- Dim and Green : one word : TOXIC and ABUSIVE relationship (well that's 2 sorry XD). Not even funny or entertaining, more like cringe.
- Man and Type : what the heck is that : man's behaviour isn't cute and romantic. He's just a creepy stalker. I didn't like how they ended together, don't understand how type fell in love.
- Mil and Wat's little brother (sorry I don't remember his name X/ ) : it was weird as hell, I don't like how mil treated WLB, who seemed to be just a second choice after he FINALLY understood that Tine doesn't like him. Plus there interactions seemed off to me, it was unnatural especially the "pat pat" thing. (Spoiler season 2 ) at the end of the 1st season I thought that they ended up together but it seems like no because at the beginning of season 2 they aren't, it's just WLB who tries to seduces mil and is frustrated. I was completely lost.(end spoiler S2)

- characters didn't have any evolution, they were still the same at the end of the 13th episode, nothing new also in there archetype. Tine friends are just here to roast restaurants and get drunk til morning to the point you can't remember anything after that and give a tiny piece of advice sometimes. I just liked Fong. He was nice. But that's it.

-the sorry doesn't make sense either : one good exemple is that now tine doesn't need wat, he just quit the music club. ????

If I had to name one good thing it would be the music : one of the rare Thai BL which has a not cringe ost and music in general. Scrubs' music is very nice ! However if we could get a music BL were the instrument is NOT guitar for once... I'm getting tired of this :')

I almost forgot one thing : the choice of music for some scene. SO BAD. When Tine is crying and you put a happy and lively music on top of that??? So many moment like that, supposed to be sad but are ruined by the stupid choice of music.
