I'm glad I came back.
I started watching this drama and stopped after the first 10 episodes. The story was hard to follow, and some of the reviews I read indicated an ending I wasn't sure I wanted to invest watching 59 episodes for. But after a few days of not finding something else to watch, I came back, and am I glad I did!These fantasy themes are not for me - but I liked the actors, so I gave it a shot. Loved the ML - loved him! And OMG when he spread those golden wings - he looked very godly to me!! The chemistry between he & the FL was really believable (although she was annoying in the beginning - and if she had a dollar for every time she called his name, she would have been rich!) The supporting actors were great too, and the relationships between them was very endearing.
Star of the show, the Flying Snake - Teng She! LOVED his character. That hiss in his sentences was just terrific. And the most annoying character was definitely the Silver Snake. What an ass! I wasn't even sorry for her in the end - because she deserved everything she got - in fact, I'd even say she didn't get the karma that she deserved. And I skipped past some of the disgusting behavior of the 'seniors' and sect-leaders. For a bunch of leaders and supposedly wise people, they were dumb and stupid and small-minded.
How many times could people be wrong about the ML's character? Especially the FL!!! I loved how the truth finally got thrown at her in full force. I rewatched that part a couple of times. They could have given the ending a little more time though... after 59 episodes we deserved a little more than 5 minutes of togetherness as a group.
I think I would definitely watch this again, but I would fast-forward through the fight scenes and some of the draggy parts, just to see the ending.

Very good. But can be better
This drama is almost perfect- from visuals, cast, acting, story. What I dont like in this drama is that they give too much emphasis to Yu Si Feng. What I mean is that they make the side characters too dumb especially those seniors of the sect. Like isn`t it obvious that though si feng is a demon, he meant no harm? Well that is my only complaint. Everything else is okay. The best part of the story in this drama for me is the revelation of who really is Rahu Ketu. Very unexpected. Love the plot twist. Second favourite part of the drama is when si feng got a view of his previous nine lives. Aww cried a lot. Want someone like him ahahha.Was this review helpful to you?

Worth Watching
I actually wasn't planning to watch this until a friend highly recommended it and I was like okay, I'll try a few eps first and see whether I like it, and if worst comes to worst, I'll just drop it (even though I hate dropping series halfway).Well... turns out I ended up loving it, and is definitely up there as one of the best cdramas I've seen so far. The pacing for this was great - I know I've said this in other reviews before, but for fantasy dramas, it usually takes me around 10 or so eps before I become interested and the plot even becomes interesting, but right off the bat for this drama, I was pulled in.
The acting was top notch for the most part, especially for the two main leads, and the chemistry between them was undeniable. In fact, I didn't expect to, but I grew attached to almost all characters and couples on the show, which is surprising for me because usually it's one or the other. However, there were times when the misunderstandings between the characters made me want to rip my hair out from frustration (hello... episode 42 which took me forever and a half to finish) but the payoff in the end was worth it.
I didn't have many issues with this show, but maybe with the character and acting for Ruo Yu which was uh... not great and not believable. Luohou Jidu acting as Xuanji also completely took me out (as in it gave me major LOLs) and made that whole last arc maybe a bit unintentionally funny for me.
All in all, this show is definitely worth a watch, and the hype is well deserved.

Love & Redemption
I started watching this drama because of Cheng Yi, I first watched him on MLC.As an early drama for him, his acting here is quite good, especially his facial expressions, eyes, and body movements.
The whole storyline is enough to make you very annoyed & angry because there are too many misunderstandings & stupid characters.
This drama really drains my feelings, but I like it.
We are swept away in the story of Xuanji & Sifeng who are looking for their true identity, because at first they were both innocent people until finally they could find a lot of love in the world, love for their family, partner and friends.
It's a bit unfortunate that ML's character here is made to suffer so much & actually I've never liked a male character in a drama as a reference for my ideal partner until I saw Yu Sifeng. I really like him T.T
He is very, very kind & sincere towards the people around him even though he has been disappointed many times.
The graphics are outstanding.
One thing that makes it hard for me to forget about this drama is the soundtrack, especially the one entitled 步崖 by 李琦.

A reference in terms of xianxia with an amazing plot twist
I have to say that this drama continues to be amazing, even 5 years later. It continues to be one of the most interesting I have watched!The OST, the story and pace are amazing!
The actors, specially the ML, are great, although I would prefer another actress for the FL, she was ok.
The production would be good, if it wasn't for those masks from Lize Palace, how was that even approved? The masks are so bad, I could do better ones at home.
What matters the most, is the plot, it gives you the right amount of sweet and sorrow, excitement and angst, everything well-packed with different characters and storylines. There are two things happening, the xuxia part and the xianxia, so you get all mixed up for the end, which is good
And this drama has a plot twist ever, that is amazing, I would never have thought about it. I really thought she would be a child that receive the spirit, but I would never ever imagine what Bailing did. So, considering this, the xianxia part is shocking.
About the end (spoiler alert)
The end is good for the main actors, but not what I expected, mainly because of Bailing, this part makes me so mad!!
How came everyone just forgive Bailing like that? Come on, that is ridiculous.
In most dramas, if you commit half of Bailing "mistakes", you lose your immortality and never can transcend to the heavens again. He should be condemned forever, throw into the void, anything more serious than what happened.
Here, the emperor says the bad things he did, he removes his spiritual powers and let's live go on? Even with the possibility of coming back to heavens to "listen the emperor teachings again". I can't believe! Man, you should be banned from heaven forever.
I really get the "don't seek revenge thing", but in this case, I completely disagree. At least he should suffer what he did to the others, that would be JUSTICE, not revenge.
What makes me annoyed is that everyone is sorry for HIM? Crying and saying don't go. What about everyone he killed, all the bad things he did? The genocide? All the lies and manipulation? How come no one is angry and mad?? This is unfair, people there are hypocrites.
Even the emperor hopes Bailing comes back? I'm so mad. It looks he cares more about Bailing than his only son!!!!
I have never seen a more light punishment for someone that truly deserved it, that makes me annoyed.

A drama I’ll never forget
There’s really not much to critique.. everything about this drama was beautiful: the plot, the acting, the fight scenes, the stunning scenery, and the undeniable chemistry between the leads.Even though the female lead’s behavior was frustrating at times, their love story ultimately won me over.
This is a drama that had me completely hooked from start to finish, and it’s definitely one I could rewatch countless times.

Appropriately titled - LOVE & REDEMPTION
What a fitting title for this title "LOVE & REDEMPTION"!! If someone told you its good, it's even better. You will fall in love with the ML and ache for him. The sacrifices he will make in the name of Love.....OMG........countless women who watches this drama will ask "where is my Se Fung???". Cheng Yi played Se Fung so well. Incredibly handsome, strong & supportive at the same time.You will get frustrated at the FL, but the writing is so good that the fustrations will be well worth it. When finally everything is revealed and she finally realizes how wrong shes been, as they say, Pay back is a bitch!
I recently fell in love with the actor Liu Xue Yi, who plays a villain in this drama. You must check him out in Love at Night and Qing Luo. He is incredibly handsome. But shows you what a great actor he is because I absolutely hated his guts in this drama.
The rest of the supporting cast is all wonderful as well. I loved ALL of them. kudos go to Zhang Yu Xi, who I think did an incredible job. I was very impressed with her acting and look forward to future work. Music & Ost is also very good, really fits the mood especially during the many intense fighting scenes.
For those like me who is looking for a HEA ending drama......YES, this is it! Its got romance, friendship, heart ache, villains, magic, monsters but most of all....Love & Redemption! Strap your seat belt on, its going to be a wild ride, ENJOY!

Wonderful show. Wish I could pick the actor's brains....
I will start by saying Cheng Yi is a very talented young man and a wonderful martial arts drama actor. I have not yey seen him in a role that I didn't like or that he executed flawlessly. And for the flying snake lord, they could not have picked a better actor his mannerisms, everything hands down cannot think of another actor who would have done better. Female lead was cast well and she did such a good job.My question, however, for these actors, is I do see them play a lot of the same or similar roles. I wonder if the roles that they select are influenced by their own individual personalities and/or if their personalities are affected by the roles that they pla. These epic martial arts dramas are so good versus evil and really play up the gray area of what is good and what is evil. And the roles that Cheng Yi plays generally seem to have a high level of honor and integrity. Just wondered how much of them comes through in these roles, or if these roles have influenced who they've become? That's the question in a nutshell, I guess.

Romance, Action, Magic, 3 realsm, xianxia, wuxia, convincing story and chemistry what am i forgetting? Never mind, this story has it all!At first sight, i was skeptical about warching this drama since i am not into ancient, but i am glad i tapped the ep1!
I got hooked at 1st ep. The couple was cute at the beginning but didnt cobtinue till end since the plot got serious, but unlike many dramas, i didnt mind. it got me hooked the more!
I love the setting and fight scenes, they are so enjoyable. and the magic spells were ....woah!
The ost certainly got me in the mood to cry, feel iconic and even sing along!
And i got to commend the story writer, it was a unique plot. Because at first, i thought it would be a remake of ashes of love, but no! Its unique! Infact i loved this drama more than ashes of love.
I cant praise this drama for long because i might be carried away...
Good character, chemistry, love story, xianxia....everything! I highly recommend this drama , give it a go and im certain you will love it as much as i did..

Happy angry baffled sad and then happy
This is the most typical wuxia drama it has everything . Most of the wuxia dramas are similiar but this was the best first time the female lead was not a menance . Chengi yi did a very good job . This was my first drama after untamed . I enjoyed it very much . I almost wanted to break the phone because how much male lead has suffered but it's all fine now . I am glad it has a happy ending .for those who are wondering whether to watch or not please watch it . It's the best .Was this review helpful to you?
The C-drama has an amazing storyline and never gets boring!
I am only up to episode 13 but it is so good! Already from the start, the chemistry between the lead characters is amazing and sweet ❤️ This Chinese drama is very different and new to me. It has an amazing storyline and it never gets boring. So I really recommend others to watch this drama! ☺️👍This drama’s lead actors is the first time I’ve seen them. The ML has a certain aura about him which makes his character different from many others. The FL is so cute yet clueless about feelings. Haha. I have seen many Insta videos about the drama and I just decided on a whim to watch and I don’t regret watching! 💗
