Love and Common Sense

I know many people love this drama. I honestly wanted to love it. I didn't intend to drop it the way I did, but I just couldn't take anymore.

The FL has no senses, but we are supposed to care about her. Let me make it clear that it's purely because she is missing a brain that I dislike her. The other senses didn't diminish her worth as a person, but I can't deal with a no-brain no-personality FL. On top of that, I can't stand the actress who plays the FL. I find myself dropping every drama she is cast in, and I feel bad about it because she isn't a "bad" actress, but I personally can't stand her.

The ML was icy, as he was meant to be, but you can't have two icy protagonists, as it offsets the emotional balance, as there has to be some warmth somewhere. I did find myself caring about the ML, but was also annoyed at his cold, stern interactions with the FL.

Anyway, the plot was so boring that I just couldn't make my way through another episode. I could already tell what was going to happen anyway. The first few episodes was just the FL annoying the heck out of all the other characters, and then putting herself and by default, others in danger because of the issue she has with not having any "common sense", as in a brain. A brainless FL in a drama is not something I can get over.

Great action

This is a great series so far as it starts off with a bang and keeps going with lots of action. It's a good storyline. I've enjoyed it's fast pace. I m not crazy about the FL as she s a bit of a nut and is a bit trying but there are so many other great characters I manage to keep interest. I think she s a good actor but not crazy about her role. Otherwise it's all very good and well done. I like that it doesn't get too heavy on any one character or direction. It keeps me wanting to get to the next episode. The love interests get a bit of too much bickering which isn't cool or sophisticated but it's not a lot. I look forward to seeing more and how it will end. The filming is good, locations, etc.

Opinion on Love and Redemption

Ok Ok we know that the two lead characters find their love difficult as it has been hexed by another evil doer. But How many times do we have to go through this hurdles? Not three but a gazillion times. its getting very boring, Not everyone of us are retarded housewives or no-life internet warriors. and I am sure some of us has brains too. We get it, but just because you want to sell more episodes of Love and Redemption, you have to throw in all these stupid scene... I am sure a lot of your bored housewives viewers and frustrated singletons love the frustrations you tortured them with.

The story line is actually very good! Same reference in the heavenly realm as Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, rather nostalgic, don't you think? They did say imitation is the highest form of flattery.. I wonder are they connected are the same universe. Same writer perhaps? My biggest peeve in this series is a voice dubbing for the lead attress, the irritating voice I found in Bai Feng Qiu in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, once again bugs me til no end be heard coming from the mouth of the lead actress. Why don't they just the original voice of the Actress! If they did I would have ignore or even not notice all those shortcomings I made above, and be that brainless silly housewives who love this take because its sooooooo romantic and sosssss forlorning sooo wonderful. Oh I left the most important thing out.. the lead actress is a retard! She is not a girl who has no senses, she acts like someone who has, what the old fashion term is, mongaloid! An 18 years old who acts as a girl with a 5 year old mentality!!!

Female Lead's "acting skills" are unbearable

Wanted to watch another one of ChengYi's dramas after Immortal Samsara so I found this. Would've dropped this show on the first episode but with Cheng Yi here, I managed to watch a bit more until I decided to drop it officially.

Acting/Cast: Dropped after watching 2 episodes of it because of the acting skills the female lead has. Male lead, Cheng Yi's acting was good, pretty natural worth the watch however not the female lead. Her voice and the way how she acts is absolutely unbearable, it's honestly childish. (Not particularly hating on the actress herself but the role she played for this show.) It seems like she's trying to be cute and naive but instead shows how bad of her acting is and that she can't even deliver the simplest line in a normal voice.

I don’t understand the hype.

I surely am in the minority here. I tried this out of interest. It’s rated 8.8 here and with raving reviews… so why not.

Holy hell, what was that all about? I cannot even finish episode 1. I am just cringing all throughout. I have had my fair share of chinese dramas, and this probably is the worst one I’ve seen. The FL is annoying off the bat. The ML seems to be as interesting as a doorknob. Then everyone seems to be annoying and irritating all at the same time, throwing a tantrum.

I think this is not my cup of tea.

If you are looking for a strong ML or FL, with the least annoying set of characters, then stop 🛑, this is not for you. Dropped this after episode 1. Next!

Disturbing Worldview

With the ongoing war, this show succeeded in grossing me out when it claimed that victims were wrong in self defence and made them apologised to the aggressors.

It’s very hard to like protagonists if you placed yourself in the shoes of the soldiers killed in defending the realm. One got accolade just from thrilling romances
(despite not contributing to war efforts nor helping the men through the trauma), while the other risked her comrades (and defenceless civilians) by releasing a threat with foolhardy belief she can contain the threat (just like opening a gas chamber to rescue an intruder, without follow the sop, forcing the comrades to possibly die trying to shut the chamber).

Amore & Malintesi....

Uno xianxia/wuxia che difetta per alcuni effetti speciali ma nel complesso è unico nel suo genere e davvero magistralmente reso grazie soprattutto alla performance recitativa di Cheg Yi. Finalmente un attore non monoespressivo ma che riesce a rendere espressivamente tutte le emozioni e le disperazioni che vive.
Sì perché in questa storia Yu Sifeng, il ML, è davvero un martire d'amore, un giovane uomo puro, coraggioso, spesso disposto al sacrificio per il bene dell'umanità e irrimediabilmente innamorato, anche a proprio discapito. Un uomo che decide di rinunciare a tutto e sacrificare tutto.
Vi consiglio di guardare con attenzione i primi episodi perché alcune frasi spiegheranno e anticiperanno il finale.
La storia è avvincente, con delle soluzioni narrative e dei colpi di scena davvero geniali, e gli sceneggiatori sono stati davvero bravi a lasciare indizi ma mantenere il mistero fino alla fine del lavoro, negli ultimi cinque episodi verrà illustrata la storia alla cui base c'è un grosso malinteso che determina tutta la storia.
Non ci sono solo enormi malintesi tra i personaggi, il ML è un uomo perfetto e incorruttibile ma anche un pessimo comunicatore che decide di farsi carico di tutto senza coinvolgere nessuno e questo determinerà un grosso pasticcio nella parte centrale fino quasi alla fine del drama.Non è un drama perfetto ma rimane un po' sottovalutato rispetto ad altri xianxia che secondo me sono meno all'altezza per trama, interpretazione dei protagonisti e intensità.

Non c'è nulla di geniale o di nuovo davvero nel messaggio del drama, nel senso che l'amore come fattore teraputico, è qualcosa alla base di forse l'80% dei drama sia cinesi che coreani, eppure le modalità con cui hanno deciso di lanciare questo messaggio, mi riferisco all'idea di un personaggio "multidimensionale", complesso e sfaccettato, ai colpi di scena finali, agli ultimi combattimenti ed effetti speciali, hanno avuto un peso talmente rilevante da aver alzato la mia valutazione che inizialmente voleva essere 8 ma alla luce delle emozioni, delle idee genialmente spese, del messaggio e di quanto questo drama mi ha lasciato ho deciso di alzare perché vorrei premiare cast, regia e sceneggiatore per delle scelte inusuali, geniali che hanno reso questo lavoro diverso: più profondo, sentito e sperimentale, mai scontato e con un impatto scenico ed emotivo molto forte.

Quello che non ho gradito sono stati alcuni effetti scenici "economici" da due lire (sangue arancione in certe scene, uccelli peluche, catene di plastica, mani mozzate che erano quelle del manichino da abbigliamento, una scena pietosa...), tuttavia alcuni animali fatti al pc, quali draghi, volpi viola molto meglio rispetto ad eternal love.
I dialoghi spesso mancano di spessore e riflessività, quelli di ashes of love sono stati molto più profondi nonostante il team traduzione sia stato molto sbrigativo, approssimativo e superficiale , qui invece il team traduzione ha fatto un lavorone, la traduzione è puntuale, precisa, corretta, di senso compiuto per il 99,5% del lavoro (BRAVI).
Personaggi femminili fastidiosi, specialmente la sorella della protagonista e la belva spirituale del ML, salvo solo la volpe viola e la protagonista che ha fatto un percorso evolutivo e di crescita notevole nel corso dei 59 episodi.
L'attrice protagonista nonostante non sia generalmente il tipo estetico dei drama è riuscita a dare profondità e spessore al personaggio, sapendo calibrare l'espressività, il tono della voce, le espressioni e ha saputo interpretare il doppio ruolo in maniera esemplare. Nessuna penso sarebbe riuscita a dare quella grinta , quel tono, quella aura alla Dea della Guerra, una donna fortissima ma anche piena di rancore e risentimento per i torti subiti.
Il protagonista maschile è uno dei pesi maggiori della mia alta valutazione, CHENG YI è stato senz'altro il migliore attore per presenza scenica ed espressività, riesce a rendere qualsiasi tipo di emozione sul volto, e la sua voce è profonda ed eccezionale.
Alla coppia principale viene riservato moltissimo tempo nel corso di questo lavoro, contrariamente ad altri xianxia con valutazioni altissime ma che si vivono davvero pochissimo , in questo lavoro ogni episodio riserva più della metà del tempo alla nascita del rapporto tra i protagonisti. I due mi sono sembrati credibili e all'altezza, non mancheranno momenti di tenerezza ma anche di quasi passione sul finale del drama.
Il finale è davvero molto bello , scenografico e spensierato.
Carine anche le altre storie d'amore che vengono rappresentate che portano in scene dinamiche e tipologie di rapporti diversi: amore tossico, puro, romantico, non ricambiato. I personaggi tutti bravi e credibili.
Nel complesso tutti gli attori hanno fatto del loro meglio e a parte qualcuno, o la risata di Wu Tong, sono stati tutti abbastanza credibili e azzeccati nel ruolo che sono stati chiamati a interpretare.

Colonna sonora gradevole ma non indimenticabile (e qui davvero è stato un peccato).

Best historical chinese drama this 2020

I've been waiting patiently for this drama to complete, actually l don't watch ongoing drama but i said let me try this out and actually find it interesting to the extent i can't wait for the drama to complete and sub. I love the love story between the main actors and i also love watching the part of the monkey and the fox l also find them interesting. It got to a point i was so heartbroken when xuanji hurt su feng and i was later happy when xuanji realise that his senior haochen was lying to her and i was also happy when they got back together. I can't wait to complete the drama and see how things ends between the main character and i want to know if su feng was saved at last. I feel like watching the drama over and over because the love story is kind of realistic there will surely be misunderstanding between two lovers and i want to see if they defeat the wicked heavenly realm. So l rate this drama 10/10. I love the story line, l love the actors and i also love the acting. A big applause to the director and the writer and the actors of this drama. This drama really makes my day.

Si tu ne l'as pas encore vu, tu peux te lancer!

Je ne pense pas qu'il soit encore nécessaire de plébisciter Love and Redemption aujourd'hui. Néanmoins, il s'agit là du plus gros coup de cœur que j'ai pu avoir pour un drama à ce jour. Je me devais d'au moins rappeler à quel point il vaut le coup de lui donner sa chance.

Il va être difficile d'aborder l'ensemble des points sachant qu'il s'agit d'une histoire très dense et complexe. Si tu n'es pas initiée aux Wuxia/ Xianxia ou Historique avec de la politique, je déconseille de commencer par Love & Redemption. Je pense que pour pouvoir l'apprécier de son mieux, il faut s'être familiarisé aux codes des dramas historiques + fantasy chinois. La quantité de personnages, de lieux, les titres honorifiques etc.. est vraiment conséquente. C'est pourquoi je dirai que c'est son point faible, il n'est pas facile de rentrer dans l'histoire car au début tout est un peu confus.

MAIS! Par la suite, je garantis que le reste en vaut la peine.

Si Feng est mon personnage préféré tout drama confondu. Son histoire d'amour, l'ensemble des actions qu'il mène, son passé, tout est extrêmement bien écrit. Le personnage féminin est aussi très intéressant et j'ai trouvé qu'elle se distinguait des autres personnages qu'on peut voir dans les dramas chinois qui sont parfois un peu nunuche, niais. Elle a su se détacher de ces stéréotypes tout en gardant les codes du genre. Les personnages secondaires, les méchants sont tous excellents de par le jeu d'acteur ou du scénario.

Il y a de nombreux rebondissements tout au long de la série, des moments plein d'émotions, du suspense... C'est une série complète qui n'a pas encore trouver son égal. Je ne peux que vivement conseiller de tenter au moins une fois en gardant à l'espirt que le début est un peu compliqué à prendre en main mais une fois familiarisé, ce n'est que du plaisir :)

Melhor slow burn quando o sifeng se apaixona pela xuanji no começo, é tão fofo!
prêmio de melhor side character vai para Teng She, que começou com nada e no final entregou tudo, carisma, resoluções, piadas, shhhhhh, amei; menção honrosa para Wu Zhiqi que foi ótimo também!
sifeng só se ferra, coitado, e a parte da xuanji bobinha, perdidinha, inocente é um pouco irritante, mas é um clássico em cdrama, como ashes of love.
ninguém merece a Linglong, mas foi lindo ver irmãs se apoiando, não brigando.
O arco da Linglong com o Wu Tong foi realmente angustiante, ainda mais depois que ela teve que lidar com a alma dela tendo feito coisas fora do corpo, horrível.
