Trying to explain some point. Skip if you haven't watch, heavy spoiler!

This movie is more into psychological horror, it has interesting story but poor telling. And since i can't find any satisfying explanation i want to try explain some point. Excuse my raw explanation and untidy English.

So there are two main characters here, student Ha Young and vice principal Eun Hee.
As for Ha Young's story, her best friend Su Kyung was dead suicide (the very first scene) after being sexually harrassed by teacher Park and is ashamed of herself. She'd rather die than being insulted her for what happened. Ha Young can't take it and seek revenge trying to kill teacher Park but ended up being helped by Eun Hee.

Eun Hee's story is a bit confusing. Her trauma started in 1980, when she was a student at that exact same school. The soldier's appearance was related to Gwangju Uprising incident in 1980 (Try search it). The students all supposed to be at home, but at school there were still the security guard, Eun Hee, and Jae Yeon. The securiy guard is dead shotted by the soldier and then several incidents happened. Because of these incidents Eun Hee developed trauma that make her forget what happened and mixed her memory.
In throwback scene, it was seen Eun Hee was the one hiding inside the classroom while Jae Yeon was the one attacked by the soldier in the toilet. But it's actually the opposite (as stated by Eun Hee's psychiatrict 'It was you'). Hence, the one who was hiding in classroom and taken by the soldier's vehicle is Jae Yeon (because there is also a scene where Eun Hee visited unnamed grave, thats the missing Jae Yeon), and the one hiding on toilet, sexually harrassed, and stabbed on the hand is Eun Hee.

The murders was all done by Eun Hee. But the only murder she 'conciously' done is teacher Park, while the others was done by her unconcious self, as it was seen on the last part, they were killed by Eun Hee while wearing school uniform (indicating her old self seeking for revenge).
Principal was killed because she kept threatening others to keep silence about school's incidents (First incident in 1980 as Eun Hee's ex homeroom teacher and the second incident that i believe trigger Eun Hee to kill her is after her encounter with teacher Park's in his home).
Meanwhile, the headless uniformed person i think is the same person in the very first scene with the window incident (not the old security guard in throwback scene). I still dont really understand what happened to him, it could be accident but the last scene somehow indicates Eun Hee is the one killed him (but for what reason?). His head is inside the bucket full of disgusting creeping animals, while the body is hid on the roof with the soldier's nametag on his wrist. Maybe his dead is Eun Hee's way of revenge toward the soldier? because they are wearing 'uniform' (remember the scene when the soldier's uniform is blurred by black thing in late scene)

And the ghost that keep haunting Eun Hee, i think she's Eun Hee's portrayal of deep regret and guilt toward what happen to Jae Yeon, whos body never found, but in herself form. The ghost has half shoes (Eun Hee running away to toilet from soldier is in one shoes too). But why one eye stabbed? I dont really understand too.

Vast improvement in storytelling compared to previous movies.

I always had exactly the same issue with Whispering Corridors - they always try to make the audience question if the events happening are the result of supernatural or not, but they also always dump over the top spooky stuff in the last 15 minutes. Here, the pacing and storytelling was more gradual and the ending actually gave a solid answer to the events happening.

For sure my favorite installment. You still need to pay more attention than while watching other horror movies to get the story and not get confused by anything, but it is possible to truly understand everything, and that’s something I cannot say about all Whispering Corridors films. The Humming was simply a solid plot with good storytelling.

It does tackle some triggering issues (TW in the comment under spoiler), but it’s not explicit - they set it so everyone knows what happened, but they don’t slap you in the face with scenes you would rather not see. Can’t say the same about gore - while nothing bothered me (I’m not exactly easily grossed out), there is some blood, there are some mutilated bodies. Nothing too intense, but better know about it before picking up the movie. Especially since the previous Whispering Corridors movies were not exactly known for bloody content.

I liked the acting a lot. A lot of characters were rather basic, but Kim Seo Hyung as Noh Eun Hee delivered a perfect performance. Well presented gradual transition of where the characters started and where it ended.

Production wise it was a well made horror, honestly nothing spectacular. Two semi-jumpscares bothered me, because they were painfully unnecessary and cheap. Glad we did not get more of it.

Overall, that’s the Whispering Corridor movie I would recommend with no regrets. You can skip all the rest.

Just a little bit summary

Okay, here is. As you see at the starting story we see the old man wearing a guard clothes but without security vast. He actually already died got killed by army. That why Soo-hyeon didn't interact with him.

Even you can see she (Soo-hyeon) didn't have a right mind state. She see something that not even there. The trauma that she had look severe. Not even her (Soo-hyeon) realize what she doing, she just thought the one who kills is Jae-yeon's her friend. She didn't get haunted by her friend, it's all her (Soo-hyeon) doing it by herself. And there's is no ghost actually it just illusion.

And the only part that I didn't get is who corpse that they found in toilet, blue shirt. The corpse also hold the army name tag.

Very Disappointing

I've been a fan of the Whispering Corridors movies for years and was looking forward to watching this one, but honestly it's so tepid and mediocre that it really doesnt merit to be in this franchise. I was very disappointed. The story is unoriginal, predictable and very unrealistic in all the wrong places. Seriously bad writing. Kim Seo-hyung is an amazing actress but unfortunately, if the material you are given to work with is not up to standard, no matter how well you act, the audience will not be engaged. The meandering disjointed plot, colourless characters and stretched out resolution are a total turn off.

Yeah, Mr PARK IS HANDSOME, Men like him in All Girls School Horrors will meet such an Ending, haha

This Movie is so DIFFERENT from the other movies in this Franchise, in terms of Direction and Story
(Ghosts exist in all those
but here, is it one ghost or two ghosts or does ghost exist really?
haha just Watch, to know😂)

U can clearly see Modern day Direction n Production (that quality maintained) here, compared to old movies.

Also all movies are about high school girls whereas here FL is the vice principal, who studied in that school n is being haunted by her school friend

Got MIXED FEELINGS n IMPRESSIONS on this Movie. Anyways, INTERESTING to watch.

***** STORY:
Doubted this as more of Psychopathic Serial killings than Ghost killings from the beginning itself, seeing Eun Hee's facial expressions throughout 🤷🏻‍♀️
(maybe I watched too many Horrors n Thrillers with twists 😂 )
In the end, the true TWIST is revealed👌🏻

The TWIST related to the Old Lame Watchman is VERY GOOD👌🏻(I doubted this all the time bcz of his interactions with others 😄)

These little details will make U REWATCH this.

***
Intially, there are multiple mystery tracks going on with Eun Hee n Ha Young and they are shown in a parallel fashion.
Then it looked like existence of Multiple Ghosts.
This suspense and mystery is well maintained throughout the movie 👌🏻

But by the time, a mystery is about to clear, the scene is cut abruptly n another mystery starts. So there is some confusion created with the editing.
The screenplay is Good but editing is bad.

***
Ha young is shown as a troublesome teenager who is impossible to handle, as arrogant n bratty - Very irritated to watch her
But as the story progresses, her true story is unfolded.
Poor Ha Young! 😔

As an international viewer, Initially confused with the soldiers attacking students n civilians.
Later came to know with some research that it is about 1980's Gwangju Uprising in Korea 😔

***
Surprisingly, MEN played important roles in this story, unlike the other movies in this franchise 🤭

As the gals said, Mr. Park is so handsome 🤭🤤 but whatever Eun Hee did with him, is the Right Thing!👌🏻
He deserved it! 🤷🏻‍♀️
Well Done, Eun Hee!

Eun Hee actress, she acted in the 4th movie, Voice as music teacher.
Her acting here is Very Good, especially in the scenes where she saves Ha young from Mr Park 👌🏻

***
STORY is WELL WRITTEN.
A Mix of psychopathic person with psychological problems with a touch of haunting of ghosts.
(So Rating for the story itself should be high👍🏻)

ACTING by everyone is GOOD 👌🏻

*****
PACING is RIGHT n GOOD.
No moment of boredom throughout the movie n no boring content fillers 👍🏻

Screenplay, Story Narration are GOOD
But the EDITING is like sudden cuts in the scenes, at times - IRRITATING!
n so my rating is just 8, instead of 8+

The Horror Effects, the Haunting Scenes (Jump Scares or the gal Screams😂) are GOOD

I expected the Humming sound (as the title suggests) to be played as BGM throughout the movie for more horror effect but No, I found it only in one scene🤷🏻‍♀️, so a bit disappointed.

My ONLY COMPLAINT here is:
First they took a lot of time to establish the story but rushed in the end, leaving some points unclear 🤷🏻‍♀️

***** JUST SOME THOUGHTS:
Why do all of them roam in School, especially in the abandoned haunted wing during Nights !😲😂

Also, What's with the "Red Lipsticks" for school students during school hours 😲🤦🏻‍♀️

***** HEAVY SPOILERS:
THE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS:

Overall, LIKED THIS
but there are few unclear points left unanswered by the end of the movie🤷🏻‍♀️:

The headless body is of the person in window incident or of the soldier.
If it is soldier's, when did Eun Hee kill him?
Back then, it was shown as she had hurt him with his nametag but not killing him🤷🏻‍♀️ or is it implied? 🤔

Also, the TWIST in the end, I took as Eun Hee's friend character doesn't exist at all, her character is just Eun Hee's hallucinations bcz in the final actual scenes, Eun Hee is seen alone in the guitar n pots scenes n not with her friend as shown in her memories of same scenes previously.
but then this arises another question "so Eun Hee's trauma n psychological problems didn't arise from the soldier's incident?", "So Eun Hee is seeing an imaginary friend even before the soldier incident? "

*****
My Rating is 8 / 10
Less rating only bcz of lil bad editing as said above.
Else would be higher and this would be the BEST in the Franchise n also would be included as one of the Good Horrors, overall🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, Would have rated this movie, More as 8+ if the unanswered questions had been clarified n given a proper closure to the viewers.

Now left with some sort of negative impressions, not to love this movie more 😔

In this Franchise, Liked the 4th movie n this one Equally.
Story-wise, both are equally good and liked.

*****
Check out my Reviews for other movies in this Franchise ☺️

Liked Movies in the Franchise, in the order:
6 = 4 > 5 = 1 > 3 > 2

My Rating for 6 movies in this Franchise, out of 10:
6.5, 5.5, 6, 8, 7.5, 8

Last three movies are very good with twists.
First three movies are mediocre.
But all 6 movies covered a wide variety of horror tropes.
