General's Lady Episode 22

Shen Jin decides to help Xiu Yuan to propose marriage to Ruo Nan while General Chu feels that he shouldn’t give in on this issue. The next day, Shen Jin proposes marriage and asks Ruo Nan about her feelings for Xiu Yuan. But Ruo Nan tells her that she carries much burden as she has to support some old folks and their families who had helped to raise her as a kid when she was a goods escort. Ruo Nan has an ambition to elevate more poor people which earns Shen Jin’s admiration and respect. General Chu is a little jealous that Shen Jin seems enamored by Ruo Nan. Xiu Yuan is not giving up but this time, Shen Jin tells him that he is being too impatient and he may not be deserving of Ruo Nan. Xiu Yuan is not happy hearing it. Ruo Nan is also still cautious of the relationship. Xiao Su couldn’t find out much about the 8th Prince’s case although there are rumors about the Emperor. But he tells General Chu that the Emperor cares for the people and is a sharp man despite appearing otherwise. General Chu assures Xiao Su that he just wants to know how his aunt died. General Chu sees Shen Jin getting close to Ruo Nan and they quarrel over it. Back home, he tries to apologize but Shen Jin becomes irritated when he mentions that he is tired of having to coax her all the time. She leaves home to go to Ruo Nan’s store. General Chu asks her to go home with him. She refuses and they quarrel again with divorce being mentioned in anger. Xiu Yuan also appears and tells Ruo Nan that he will not bother her but will wait for her instead. Shen Jin goes back to her mother. Shen Zi tries to rub it in about her sudden return. General Chu assures his mother-in-law that it is his fault for angering Shen Jin and will bring her back home once she has calmed down.
